Wedgewood Golf has four new "iron-wood" clubs that define a new catergory of approach shot clubs. They are most easily characterized as a marriage of an iron and a wood. They look like woods, but hit like short, medium and long irons, with a high trajectory and a soft landing on the green. At the PGA Show, the company's booth was filled constantly, as golfers previewed Wedgewood's new infomercial and talked with the company's founder, Mike Wanchena. After seeing Wedgewoods in the current 2000 "Equipment Edition" of Golf Tips Magazine, I have a new appreciation for this new category of "iron-woods." There are four Wedgewoods -- 44-degree (like a 9-iron or PW); 38-degree (like a 7 or 8-iron); 30-degree (5 or 6-iron) and the 22-degree "Long" (3 or 4 iron). I think these clubs can change your entire approach to approach shots and improve your game. The Wedgewoods set up great, and you get a terrific feeling of confidence when you're ready to hit. |
