Picked up a set (w/steel shafts) on ebay for $78.00 about a year and a half ago. Replaced BB2002's, which were too clunky, thick top line and a lot of offset. The TFT's are very pleasing to look at, have a great feel, and they are a half to one club longer than the BB's. Also found out about these on the golf forum.

I previously played the XL2000's, which are excellent clubs but look a bit 'clunky'. My game improved so much that I thought I'd switch to a players club. I spent two years trying a couple of forged, muscle/cavity- type clubs. Well, after seeing my score increase without consistent practice, I returned to Top Flite and bought the Tours in stiff graphite (Switched from steel).
The more narrow topline suits my eye and the limited offset is what I looked for. Aesthetically, they are very attractive clubs and don't look like a game- improvement club. However, off-center hits travel almost as far as well-struck balls, and shots that are thin still get up in the air. I previously used a hybrid for a 3-iron, but I don't need it anymore because the 3-tour is so sweet! I hit these about 10 yards further than my previous clubs, probably due to the lighter shafts and stronger lofts.
The only drawback I can find is that the clubs don't provide the same feedback as the forged clubs I've played. If I had unlimited funds I might try the Wishon 560's, but otherwise I wouldn't use any other club, at any price.

Model Reviewed: Top-Flite Tour 2003 Iron Set, 3-PW

I bought a new set of these irons last year from 3balls.com for $139 and have been very satisfied. I just bought a second set, 3-PW, steel shaft, brand new at the PX in Seoul, Korea for $74!

I like the heads on these clubs and the ball seems to go far and straight. I got the second set so I have a backup set or I can experiment with re-shafting the first set later.

Great clubs overall!

I have owned these clubs for over a year and have 30+ rounds playing experience with them. I purchased them new in the box from eBay for around $150. I am very satisfied with the clubs overall. They are ideal for a beginner or for someone looking for great forgiveness. Distance is average, feel is average, and playability is average but possible. For the price, they can't be beat. If I were a beginner all over again this would most definately be the first set of clubs I would purchase. As for their overall advantages I would directly compare these clubs to Callaway's Big Bertha irons.

Customer Service

Never had to use. Durability is definately not a concern.

I bought this set in response to all the hype about it on a golf site (www.freegolfinfo.com). I agree with most of the opinions. The heads are fine looking instruments and in spite of the deep, forgiving, cavity, they do in fact have minimal offset. I like minimal offset. :-) Very solid and forgiving heads, but there's a reason why I keep commenting about the heads and that's because I think the stock-stiff steel shafts are lacking. They felt too flexible to me and had too much torque at impact. Not what I want in trying to put a repeatable swing on the ball. I will offer a very good score on these clubs, though, because I truly believe the heads to be some of the best game-improvement heads out there that are also playable for the accomplished player. But the shafts... uhg. Tempted to reshaft them and give 'em another go, but I think I'll just stick with my ISI-S's, offset and all. I would, however, highly recommend this set to the high-handicapper or perhaps any sub-100mph swingers (w/driver) out there.

Model Reviewed: Top-Flite Tour 2003 (stiff steel flex shaft)

This is a follow-up review. I began using these clubs at the end of last season (2004). Like so many other reviewers, these clubs are STRAIGHT and LONG. I immediately got my scores down by hitting more G.I.R. On the first day of the new year (1-1-05), I shot in the 70's with these irons. I thought I had arrived so I sold my Top-Flite Tour 2003 irons and switched to a forged set of KZG Revolution irons (BIG MISTAKE). I have shot in the mid-to-high 80's with the KZG's trying to shape shots (draws/fades). Don't get me wrong, the KZG forged irons are more workable than the Top-Flite Tour 2003 irons and the feedback from hitting the sweet spot on a forged iron is like no other feeling; but you have to strike the ball perfect or near perfect EVERYTIME. I did improve my ball striking and short game using the KZG's. But I realize now that I am not a professional golfer just an occasional golfer. With this realization, I recently purchased a new set of Top-Flite Tour 2003 irons off Ebay (stiff steel, my last set was regular steel). There is absolutely nothing wrong when striking the ball with the Top-Flite Tour 2003 irons and the ball going exactly where you are aiming; even on mis-hits there is very little lose in distance and direction. I can hit every iron in my set with confidence even the long irons (I couldn't with the KZG's). However, I am keeping the forged KZG wedges in the bag. I am probably going to purchase a spare new set of Top-Flite Tour 2003 irons before the market is depleted of them. I guarantee you that if you play with these irons (matched to your flex rating) you will hit more G.I.R.; whether you are a scratch golfer or shoot in the 100's.

I used to sell clubs on ebay and have 4 sets of XL 2000s. My two sons and I play only these clubs. The XL 2000s and now these clubs are simply the best clubs I have ever played. Several years ago, I joined a country club and shot a 123 my first round. I looked at this review site and talked with a few pros. Over a 5 month period and about 90-100 rounds, I finished with a 9 handicap - with my last 10 rounds in the mid to upper 70s. Yes, it took a lot of work to get there, but these clubs are still the best I have used. These clubs (Tour 2003) are basically the same as the XL 2000s - but better looking. For $139, you will never find a better bargain than these clubs. As a matter of fact, you won't find any better clubs (lower scores). You may find clubs that carry more prestige and cost more, but you will never shoot lower with them. These clubs are a 5 all of the way. Please note that these clubs are the only ones you can find rated this high for all handicap levels. I have looked at all of the ratings and can tell you the few people that rated them lower did so because of "feel" and "looks". For me it's all about score.

I grabbed these from www.3balls.com for $139. The best golf bargain I have ever seen. These clubs are top quality. I am hitting them longer, and they are very forgiving of off-center hits. I normally play Taylor Made Tour Burner irons (bought when I played a lot more) but was looking for a good set with more forgiveness until I get my handicap back down. I am very pleased with these irons, the looks and performance are equal to most. The only negative is feedback, scratch golfers won't like the lack of feedback from a mis-hit.

Model Reviewed: Top-Flite Tour 2003 Iron Set, 3-PW

I just bought a brand new set of these irons from 3balls.com for $139. Got the 3-PW, steel shaft, regular flex. I was looking for a "new" set of irons this year, and did not feel like spending $500 or probably much more for the latest model. I also wanted to stick with a steel shaft, but I did change from stiff to regular flex and this has turned out to be a good move for my swing and capabilities. As we all know, if you just wait a little while, most of the clubs will come down in price when new product lines are introduced. Like most of the reviews already state, these clubs seem easy to hit and they do go far! I guess I did not realize that Top Flite makes such a quality set of irons. I thought they were a great value for the price I paid.

Customer Service

The customer service where I bought these irons from was very good...easy to use the site and make the purchase on line.

I only have 1 word for these irons. FANTASTIC! Cheap you might say? The only thing cheap about them is the price! I've played all the top brands and although most are very good to excellent, these rank right up there with the best of them and better in a lot of instances. They are very forgiving and will hit it long even with a not so perfect swing. The feeling with a pure struck shot is as good as any forged club. They look great at address and have minimal offset which I like. They are even workable although less than a quality forged iron but who cares? Straight is good too! You can pick these up cheap and believe me you won't be sorry if you do! Great irons...Great price!! Just get over the name and you won't regret it.
