Very very nice clubs. I have tried so called game improvement forged clubs in the past with so so results. Even as far back as the Hogan Edge's. The Mizuno MX-23's are good. Really good. But I still needed a little more feeling of solidity. Was playing the G2's and like those a lot also - but when I tried the 804's in the golf shop I had to take them out to the course and see what would happen (I just can't tell from hitting into a net). The results were most excellent. Solid feel is the first thing that jumps out at me. Even pretty decent results on shots not quite in the old sweet spot. Not as forgiving maybe as the G2's but I'll take the feel of the forged over the slightly smaller sweet spot all day long. Don't read into this that these are not forgiving clubs and should be considered by single digit handicappers only. Nothing could be farther from the truth. There is plenty of error correction and a large enough sweet spot for most any 90's player out there. Pricey? Yes. But forged is always more costly than cast (and they run the same price as the G2's). All in all - simply the best forged game improvement club available. Kudos to Titleist for a job very well done.

I have been playing the Muzuno MP30’s for the last two years. They are a wonderful club, but they come with a drawback. To be able to hit them requires a lot of time on the driving range to keep my swing grooved. After the end of my golf league I decided I needed to find something a little more forgiving than the Mizuno’s. The problem was I loved the feel and playability of a forged iron. After looking and trying many irons I settled on the Mizuno mx23’s or the Titleist 804-OS’s. After playing both I found I had the most consistency with the 804’s. I could still work the ball, but my miss-hits did not penalize me as much as the MP30’s. With my swing speed I am on the line for a regular or still shaft. I have been able to use a regular in the Titleist and have not lost any distance. I would say I have all the advantages of the forged iron, and a little more forgiveness to boot. Not a bad deal….

After eight years playing King Cobras (graphite), I went in search of new clubs. For three months I went to every demo day around, haunted the various golf shops in town, and hit what I could at the range. And after three months of trying just about everything from game improvement clubs like Adams Ideas, Nike Slingshot, and T-M Rac OS to blades like Mizuno M-30s, Hogans, Clevelands, and others, I was thoroughly and completely confused. What I seemed to hit best were the Mizuno M-30s, the Nike Slingshots, and the Titleist 804s. Go figure. Part of it was ego - I resisted "liking" the game improvement clubs that made me feel like I was playing with training wheels, and part of it was results - I hit the blades just as well as I hit the Slingshots. I finally went to one of the golf shops in town, Golf Pro, and the salesman, for once, didn't try to tell me what I needed (which, typically, was whatever the store was trying to push). Instead, we went to the hitting area, and he gave me club after club to try, without telling me what I was hitting. After trying fourteen different clubs, in various combinations (steel, graphite, regular, stiff), we narrowed it down to two - the 804s and Ping G2s. I hit some more, and settled on the 804s after hitting them dead center every time. As the store has a 30 day return and exchange, no questions asked policy, I took my time testing them at the range before I went to the course. When I did take them - wow! My first few holes? Par, par, birdie, par, par, par, par. Not bad for a bogie golfer. After that, excitement got the best of me, and my short game disappeared. But the irons are great - I'm 10-15 yards longer, can work the ball either way. My biggest adjustment is distance control. Good carry, high, great feedback - you know when you mis hit, and the sweet spot is nirvana. They've given me such confidence I'm swinging my driver better. They may be a bit pricey, but I recommend that everyone, from scratch to 100+ try these, or the 704 cousins.

Customer Service

The guys at GolfPros were great. They fit me - but I was a standard fit, off the rack, so no special ordering was needed. 30 day return policy gives you plenty of time to seal the deal. Also gave me a fair trade-in for my old irons.

I really love these irons! They possess a perfect balance and feel, and produce very solid shots with lovely high trajectories. I will keep these in the bag for quite some time!

Unbelievable! These irons are great. I was playing the X-14's, but always thought that the club didn't give much feedback. These clubs let you work the ball and when they hit that sweet spot, its just like butter. Not as forgiving as the X-14's, with some loss on thin shots, but overall there is no comparison.

Got custom fitted at my club and the clubs came in about a week.

My handicap ranges from 7 to 9. Titleist has a winner in these sticks. Very forgiving, good distance, nice feel. Easy to work both ways and up and down. I love them, and highly recommend them to golfers of all levels. Other clubs this easy to hit sacrifice control over shot shape. I don't know how Titleist did it, but these babies work. Give them a try! Can I give them a 6?

I had originally purchased a new set of Mizuno MX23 and after only three weeks the clubs started to rust on the club face. I called Mizuno and they told me that this was normal. Unsatisfied, I returned the clubs and began searching for new clubs. I was really worried I wasn't going to find a club that felt as soft and buttery as the MX23. Then the salesman had me try the new Titliest 804OS and the MX23 were a thing of the past. These clubs feel fantastic and apparently don't rust. They inspire confidence at address and feel sweet when hit flush. The clubs are also very responsive, and they let you know exactly where the ball hit the clubface when you miss hit it. At first I was a little intimidated by the fact that the clubface was a little smaller than the MX23, but once I got over that, these clubs met and surpassed my expectations. The saleman also told me that these clubs have a lower trajectory than the MX23, but I didn't find that to be very noticeable. Definetly give them a try.
