Titleist DCI Oversize - TT DG S-300
I have been playing these clubs for a little over a year now, and in that time I have dropped my HC 7 or 8 points. It is a good club, and an excellent buy for a mid-high handicapper - especially at the $200-300 range. I had been playing some knock-off Callaway copies with graphite shafts and was looking to sacrifice a little distance for more accuracy. Bearing in mind that my average score using the knock-offs was 90-95, the Titleists were exactly what I needed. I now average an 82-84 and a lot of the reason I think is these clubs and a fair amount of practice. That''s the good thing about them. Now for the downside. I have been flirting around in the high 70''s off and on, but can''t seem to get over the hump to single digit handicap. I have always heard better players I know be able to tell when the shot wasn''t hit pure (thin, toe, heel), but I never really got any of that, with the exception of maybe a thin shot. That is wonderful if you play infrequently and want to be able to not look ridiculous when you do get to play. The Titleist''s - as well as most any oversize cavity back - will hide a multitude of swing sins. But if you want a better swing, as I do, I think these clubs only hide those small problems that need to be corrected. They are good, accurate clubs that will, in my opinion, improve your game to a point. I am no expert by any means, but this club seems to me to be one for the 10-18 handicap player - one who has a decent swing but is not a very consistent ball-striker. I don''t think very many low handicap players would like it simply because of it''s thick sole and lack of feedback. I retired the DCI''s and just purchased a new set of Mizuno MP-33''s with TT DG S-300 shafts after a lot of testing of different clubs. I hope to post a review on this club after 20-30 rounds. None I have owned and played these irons for about 5 years. I loved them then and I love them now. They are very solid and are a very well made club. The ball does tend to want to go straight but can be worked (is that bad). I played a lot more when I first bought them (played to a 7 handicap). Time does not allow me as much chance to play now and I really appreciate their forgivness. These are classic clubs and I think play as good as the new breed. They were in production for around six years that should tell you something. Highly recommended. Customer Service Not needed! Similar Products Used: Wilson Staff Blades (for a long time). None These are great clubs for somebody who shoots in the 90''s or high 80''s. These are not for the scratch golfer. I have had my set since 1998 and other than regripping each season, they have worked great for me. Titleist is coming out with a new oversized iron in Oct.2001. I think I''ll wait one more year, since I do not want to give up on this current irons. Great irons for the price and the above average player. Similar Products Used: Wilson Staff-RM |

Although I am not a very good player, I have experienced a great amount of joy with these clubs. Being my first set of good clubs, it took me a while to learn enough about the game to accurately review any club. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made Supersteel, Callaway X-12 |

I've owned these clubs for several years. They are not for scratch golfers who like to work the ball on every shot. They are game improvement irons, but like any club, will not completely cover up a bad swing. Make sure shaft flex and lie angle match your swing/set-up. Solid clubs. Good value. 2-Iron with stiff steel shaft
Excellent feedback when mis-hit. The stiff shaft made it very difficult when I try to hit it with a 3/4 swing. The launch angle seems a little high for a 2-iron, higher than my 5 wood. The one thing I dislike the most is the grip. Similar Products Used: Tommy Armour 845s 2-iron |

What's wrong with this picture. I have an oversize, perimeter weighted irons with varying degrees of offset--but I can still work the ball! Forgiveness and playability. I've played longer sticks than these, but none with this combination. Excellent clubs. Similar Products Used: Pings, Wilson, Taylor Mades, Callaways. |
