These clubs are awesome. Every time I hit them they went straight and extremely far. I added 30-40 yards on my shots from my old Callaway irons. Extremely easy to hit, even when you hit it on the toe or heel it went straight and far. I got mine for $600. I think it is a great deal. Go out and get these irons while you can. 981 w/steel shaft
Borrowed the Titleist 981s for a day. Was susprised to find I hit them at least as well and consistantly as my ""forgiving"" oversize irons. They're maybe a half club shorter, but then the steel shafts are a 1/4"" shorter than my graphite shafts. Not only were the 981s easy to hit, they were a definite improvement over my ""game improvement"" irons within 120 yards. In short, the 981s are easy to hit irons with compact club heads made for golfers who appreciate that knowing how far you hit an iron is much more important than seeing how far you hit an iron. *Excellent* irons. I tried out a bunch of irons and I hit nothing more solid or straighter than the 981's. The feel is wonderful and very crisp. Power is definitely there. I could not tell the difference between all different sets in the ""under $500"" range until I hit these. These clubs are great, you can hit the ball of the toe and feel like you have hit a bad shot but when you look up it is right on line. Good spin, distance, great overall price. Goes for 600 in stores, not 900 like it says above, best club I have ever hit Similar Products Used: King Cobra Original, Taylor Made LCG, Callaway X-12, Cleveland TA-4 |

Sold my Pins ISI irons,as they were too easy to hook. I tried the 981's, and fell in love. These irons are a little longer than the Pings, and the ball spins better. The feel is much better also. Right out of the box, I shot an 81, and no nasty hooks or trouble. Everything had a slight draw, and the ball stops dead. I tried the 962 three years ago, and I like these much better. The smoother and slower the swing, the longer and higher the ball flies! These are keepers!!! Customer Service Titleist has always given great warranty repairs,at no charge, and ships 2nd. day air, for free. Good service. (I had a Scotty Cameron Putter repaired) Similar Products Used: Ping ISI, Titleist 962, Callaway X12, Top Flite Ti,King Cobra, Lynx Black Cat, Ping ZingII, Ping Eye,Bullet Irons. |

These clubs rule. They are the best. The best clubs in the world. If you are thinking of getting new irons, you would be making a terrible decision if you don't get these clubs. EXCELLENT DISTANCE with EXCEPTIONAL FEEL and UNBELIEVEABLE ACCURACY. Similar Products Used: None |

I just got an new set of these irons and i can hit them 20 yards farther. The clubs are very forging. You can top them ,skull them, toe and heel them and they still fly straight. My previous set was the original callaway irons. I may only be 15 but i've been playing for 8 years and these are the best irons for a reasonable price. Customer Service A few weeks after I got the irons I by accedent broke my 3 iron on a tree off my follow throught and I called Titleist and the put on a new shaft and payed all the shipping and handling. As a former scratch golfer, I was looking for new irons. I found the 981 to be excellant when I made perfect contact. But if I hit off of the toe I lost lost of distance. I am 44 years old and play 80 rounds a year and I guess if you have that perfect swing, then these clubs are for you. I need something a little more forgiving. Similar Products Used: I have played with the Fat Shaffs tour Model and like these alot. They seem to be more forgivig. But they were also more expensive. |

I really like these irons, they fly very high and hit really straight, they are definintely an improvement on the 962s. However I tried hitting a freind's Callaway Ti Tungstens and was amazed how much shorter they were than his, however the lack of distance is made up in accuracy. Personally I recommend these clubs for a 14-or under handicapper. Similar Products Used: Ping Zing 2s, Ping Eye 2s, Titlesit dci 962s, Titleist dci black, Wilson Staff, Callaway various sets. |
