Being forged club player my whole life, the 981's have changed my thinking!!! These are very solid!! I still have my MP-14's and take them out occasionally but you can beat the 981 long irons!!! Had the Tri Spec shafts and changed them to 6.5 Rifes and made them even better!!!! Similar Products Used: 990's |

I bought this set almost brand new, they'd been hit twice on the range. I'd been looking for some new irons and my front runners were the the Ping i3 "blades" and Hogan Apex Plus. I'm glad I decided to get the Titleist 981's. They are much more forgiving, and feel solid even on shots that I missed. I'm one club longer, but i can jump on it and get 2 clubs longer or take a nice easy swing and hit 'em my old distance. Sweet sticks! Customer Service Haven't needed it Similar Products Used: Ping Eye 2, Hogan Edge, Callaway X-12 |

The 981's are Ok, I would prefer a blade iron to shape shots better though. Oh, and in the post below (Morvay from Balt.) he lied. He's lucky to break 100. His scorecard has more snowmen than Canada in December! Similar Products Used: Taylor Made ICW5 |

I started out with the old DCI's. I made the mistake of trying the Callaway x14's. Boy, were they ever a disappointment. Finally, I went and hit the 981', the Cleveland TA forged, and a couple of others. Nothing compared to the 981's. What a great club! Customer Service Edwin WAtts was awesome.
