I own the 981's with Dynamic Gold Sensicore shafts these irons are great. If you miss hit them the ball will still go straight. I picked up an average of 10 yards per club. In the lower irons you get great height on the ball, which let's you work the ball for a more. If you're on the edge of becoming a true player, you have to try these. Customer Service Any time I have a question or a problem, they call or e-mail me back. Very good customer service. Similar Products Used: Callaway X-14, Titleist 990's, Tommy's EVO's Taylor Made. Absolutely the best irons I've ever played. They're a little heavier which encourages a smooth powerful swing. The i3's and X-14's felt great but weren't nearly as accurate as the 981's. Laser accurate with distance control that's dead on. Similar Products Used: Ping i3, X-14's, Comp Ez's, Pro II's |

This is a follow-up to a review I posted earlier in the season. After having played with these for the past several months they have only reinforced my initial impression. They are very fine clubs. Their weight and balance are excellent. Like with any Titleist product, the clubs will not turn you into a great golfer overnight but these clubs afford enough foregiveness to make that off-day bareable and provide that extra confidence boost when you're swinging well. Very solid feeling and they do add a few extract yards to my game. For those who require complete control over ball flight, these will likely be a disappointment. However, if you're like me and you're at a stage in your skill development where consistency and accuracy are a priority, these will deliver. If you align yourself properly to the target these will put it right where you're aiming - no questions. Having fell victim to the club marketing hype in the past, I have to say these deliver on what they claim. The 990s may get most of the attention but these will help refine the mid-handicapper's game. Similar Products Used: MacGregor MT, 962, Wilson |

Having only been playing for a year, I was unsure as to which clubs would improve my game, (I know its not the clubs but the person thats using them). However, these have worked. Many months research and trying lead me to the 981's. It may be all in the mind but reduce my score they have. I'm now hitting low 90's and can see from my score card where I can improve further. These are great clubs and give that feel good facture when your swing is working. Similar Products Used: None |

A great set of irons for the low to mid handicap player. Very accurate all the way through the set. Good feel and feedback. They hit slightly longer than the ping i3 o size that I traded in. (not that length is very important with irons - it's the accuracy that matters) Sets up very nice with an almost blade like look. (the offset is there but is a lot less than the i3 o size) Head is not large so the player looking for a lot of forgivness will be disappointed, allthough players with good swings will find these clubs plenty forgiving. I tried all the leading irons before buying these. They look like a deceptively simple design but like others I found an extra 10-15 yards and definitely greater accuracy. You have to be happy with a slightly heavier head than some and keep the swin speed under control. When you do the're truly amazing. I'm completely converted. Customer Service Yes I had then custom fitted - turned out to be very important as I might not have picked the right shaft otherwise. Good service, probably better in off-season. I'd say that this is one of best, top-line set of irons out there. Great combination of traditional and blade-like look, with rounded top line. Good feed back with mis-hits, and great feel with solid impact, almost like a forged blade. What I love about this set is the consistancy of distance and trajectory of each club. It allowed me to hit a lot more greens than before. If not for my poor short game, I would be shooting in the 70s. But for those high-handicappers looking to lower their scores, this set won't do the magic for you. It's forgiving and easy to to get the ball up flying(as it says on the ads), but it also requires a good swing. I only recommend this set to mid and low hadicappers. For people that can't afford the Titleist 990s, this is the perfect set for you, since the 981s are on sale everywhere right now, and it offers very similar feel and workability, just not as expensive and shiny. I love this set and it'll always stay in my bag. Customer Service Haven't had any problems them yet, since I only had them for 3 months, and I hope I won't be having any!
