Titleist DCI 762 Irons

Titleist DCI 762 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The new DCI 762 is the flagship of the player-proven DCI iron franchise. DCI 762 irons are high-performance blades with contemporary design technology. Their thin face design and a multi-piece carbon and metallized mylar cavity insert provide unparalleled feel, increased playability, and modern flight characteristics. The multi-layer, multi-material cavity insert provides "muscle-like" feel without any wasted cavity mass. The cavity insert features a woven graphite sheet in the lower part of the cavity to soften the impact area and provide enhanced feel.

I got these irons about 3 yrs. ago, I traded in my ping ISI black dots and what a great move that was. I love the feel and workability of the 762's not to mention, the price! When hit solidly these irons encourage great ball flight and trajectory. Would recommend them to any moderately skilled player.

Had these irons for a about 2 and 1/2 years now. Not the best irons Titleist has made, but they work very well for me, and have helped me to hit the ball better. They're forgiving enough to not kill me on bad shots, but also blade like enough to force me to better my swing. I have a set of old Titleist forged blades I like to play when I'm swinging well, but I think I'm going to just stick with DCI 762's now. I'm actually about to get them re-gripped and fitted to my height, so I'm hoping this will help me strike the ball better. All and all, you can't beat the price, and they will force you to become a better ball striker. I plan to keep these until I can afford to buy a better set of players irons.

Customer Service

Bought them used off of Ebay, so don't think I get customer service at this point. =)

After getting rid of my Cleveland TA 3's and CG 4's, I wound up with a set of Wilson Staff Di7's...which I wasn't happy with. I read the reviews throughout this website, and felt that the DCI 762's would be worth a try. These clubs are terrific even if they are a few years old! Great feel and with these I'm just learning to work the ball some. I get great feedback from these irons and probably 10 to 15yds more distance when struck correctly. They're very similar to the feel of my old Cleveland TA3's, but I think I like these clubs much better. Nice clean topline and no oversized sole or offset that would hide swing flaws. An ideal set of clubs especially if you want to improve your golf game instead of masking your swing flaws.

These Irons are very good for the price I got them for. I traded in my used Callaway X-20s because I got sick of playing game improvement irons and wanted to get something that actually made me better, which is exactly what these irons for you to do. I have had to significantly loosen my grip for every shot and that makes me a much, much better ball striker. I love these irons and would recommend them to any golfer that has reasonable skill that wants to force themselves to get better--which is what it is all about.

i got the 762 irons for my birthday in 2004 i have played with them ever since. i love theese irons. im a hard hittin lefty that has every shot in the book and a 115mph swing, i just have a lil problem puttin. theese clubs r hard to miss hit. i went from hittin my 7 iron 150-160yds to now hittin it 175+ every time. depending on how you swing they can be hit high low and you can work them from right to left very easy. The only thing is if you have a swing less then 100mph dont get them. They r better for a higher swing speed player like myself. My dad got a set of X18 irons not too long after they came out. I hit them alot but found the mid to long irons fell like hittin a rock. i will never switch from titleist iron again

Due to these irons I have had to develop my swing. They are probably not the most forgiving in the world but that forced me to become a better ball striker. I have been playing with them for about 2 years now and I would say I started off as a good hacker and now I feel like I am getting to be a pretty decent ball striker. Mis hits are really bad and hitting in the sweet spot is rewarding! Great trajectory!!! Just a really good heavier Titleist that does require a decent swing.

I had been using Lynx Parallax and Callaway irons for the past 15 years. I picked up these Titleist 762's last fall for less than $150 when a golf store went out of business. I shot two 72's and two 74's right after the purchase. I used to hit really high irons. I added 10-12 yards per iron with increased accuracy from lower ball flight. I always used to hit a hard 8 iron 150 yds. Immediately I began hitting gearing down a club after knocking a couple of shots right over flags and the greens as well. After adjusting I started hitting it to 15 feet or less all day even up to 190 yards. I hit 15/18 greens in regulation the second round I played with them. I was a 5 handicap last year during the heart of the season, but would be a 3 or better if 2007 works like late 2006. Best purchase I have ever made by far. Some of my playing partners have wanted to hit them as they saw the difference in my game. It's a heavier club than most. It's seems like people with higher swing speeds benefit the most. My driver swing speed is in the 115 mph range.

This has to be the worst iron Titleist has ever produced. No distance, no forgiveness, dead/clunky feel. Sorry, I am not impressed.

I shoot mid 80s.
I bought these used 2 years ago. These were to replace my older Titleist DCI irons. Big mistake. I liked the look of the club but found them inconsistent. I never liked the dynamic gold stiff shaft. When the ball came off the center it was like butter. Unfortunately distance varied too much. My normal 9 iron is 110-120yds, with these clubs I'd hit it 110-120 except sometimes it would go 140-150. The ball tended to have a lower trajectory compared to my other clubs. It's disappointing to go to a green where you hit the ball right at the flag to find the ball 20yds off the back of the green. Off center hits on cold days were painful compared to my older clubs.
