First of all, I had been playing with the same clubs for the past 10 years (Titleist DCI) so I know anything today would be a lot different. I got custom fit by a Titleist certified fitter and am EXTREMELY satisfied with these clubs. I ended up with the 4 through PW with the Dynamic Gold High Launch S300 stiff shafts, 2 degrees upright, and + 1/4" on the length. I am hitting the center of the club face much more consistently with this setup than with my old DCI's which were stock off the shelf when I bought them. The AP1's are about a half club longer than my old irons, but that is to be expected since the lofts are stronger all the way through the set.

They have a great feel and a very consistent ball flight/distance. These clubs want to hit the ball straight...which is fine with me! When I have tried to fade or draw the ball, it starts out moving and then straighens itself out. 99% of the time, a straight shot is what you need and is more beneficial to me than the ability to fade/draw 1% of the time. Also, as with any club, swing with a smooth tempo at 80% and you'll love how the ball jumps off the club face.

My most typical mis-hit is hitting the ball off the toe. With these clubs, the ball flight is still straight with about 80-90% of the anticipated distance. Not that bad of a result from a poor swing.

Some people might not like the top profile of the club. It has a thick top line. I myself did not like it the first time I tried the clubs, but I certainly liked the results of the shots and the feel of the clubs. I quickly decided I could live the thick top line.

I also looked at Mizuno...loved the feel on a pure shot, but not so good even on slight mis-hits. I shoot in the low 80's and felt they were a bit too much for me at this time. And at the urging of my friends at work, I looked at Ping...too clunky and no "feel" to them even though the shots themselves were fine.

Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend these clubs to anyone looking for a great feeling club that hits the ball straight.

PS I also upgraded my old Cleveland wedges to Titleist Vokey wedges (52 and 56 degrees). No comparison, the Titleist wedges are so far superior in feel, spin, and consistency it's not even funny.

Customer Service

Excellent. I received the clubs exactly 14 days after the custom order was placed.

I am not a big fan of titleist equipment, but I am now. These new AP1 irons are absolutely some of the most solid irons I have ever hit. Every shot like butter. I did try both the new blad and AP2 but felt that they balooned too much and these have a nice consistent trajectory. I believe these are for agolfer of an skill level.

I've had these clubs for about a month, and I absolutely love them. They are a full club longer than my old Big Bertha's. They hit the ball straighter than any club I've ever had, and they feel so smooth. Anyone wanting new irons should check these out. I've got absolutely nothing bad to say about them.

Customer Service

Titleist made them to order (+1 and up 1) and I had them in less than a week.

Just want to cast my vote for what I believe are the best Titleist irons ever. These are clubs for everyman. They replace Titleist 775.CBs and there's no comparison. I urge anyone looking for a forgiving, confidence inspiring, sweet feeling club to give them a test drive.

These clubs are sweet and every shot feels like butter. I went from a set of forged 735's to these and I can tell you that you can be mid handicapper or even a low one(although low might want the AP2's) and you can use these...Titleist hit a homer wiith these and the looks are very sexy. No wonder stores can;t even keep them on the sheolves

Ive been playing for quite a while and only this year broke 80.Since i bought the AP1 irons, which was 4 weeks ago i have broke 80 twice with a career low round of 76.
These are a great stick, i had the project x 5.5 put in mine and absolutely love them.People talk about being longer with new clubs and i dont always believe them, these are 10 yards longer per club for me. WOW buy them you will not regret it.

I demo'd these alongside the MP 57. It is by far the easier iron to hit. One immediate thing I noticed was how easy they were to hit. It has a wonderful penetrating high lfight, butnot balooning. I swing my 6 iron 85 mph and the the DGHL R300 was perfect. Every shot felt like I was hitting marshmellows. All my shots were very straight and high. I was hitting the 6 iron higher than my 7 iron. If you are a 10-20 index player these are the ones to get. They are way better than the older 775's..no comparison. I felt like a "player" when I was hitting these things. The shot kept on going on going..I was getting 100% out of the ball flight. I am so happy I found my perfect iron set.

I am actually hitting the ball more consistently with the these irons. I feared that they may be to difficult for me to play with, but that is not the case. I hit the ball so easily when I demo'd them that I had to buy it. Best golf purchase I've made so far.

Have been using the AP1 irons for about a month now. I started off not liking the HL S300 shafts as they felt too soft. But after a few decent rounds I've gotten used to the shafts and have gotten more & more accurate with the irons. Very nice feel and excellent distance when struck pure & even though you can tell when you've put a poor swing on the ball the irons are very, very forgiving. I've hit the AP1's side-by-side with my son's MP-57's (Project X 5.5) and when comparing well struck balls I honestly prefer the AP1's feel.

Customer Service

Got fitted at a demo day on a Friday before the AP1's were shipped to the retailers and had the irons in a week.
