Titleist 755 Irons

Titleist 755 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The new 755 irons integrate contemporary design elements into the Tour-proven, Titleist 700 series platform for greater performance and improved playability.

Utilizing a thinner face design, weight is removed from the face to increase cavity volume. Discretionary weight is then redistributed to create enhanced heel-toe weighting for a higher moment of inertia, superior playability and forgiveness.

Superior feel and shock absorption are achieved by incorporating a forged aluminum dampener chip into the cavity. The dampener chip filters out unwanted vibration for a soft, solid feel and outstanding shot feedback. The strong, lightweight, T-6 6061 insert reinforces the thin face for greater strength and durability.

Forged 755 irons feature a slightly lower CG position for an easy initial launch and a medium-high flight for excellent control and maneuverability. Dual hosel lengths and a high-performance sole manage trajectory and provide predictable performance from a variety of turf conditions.

Crafted from 410 stainless steel utilizing a precise, multi-step forging and CNC milling process, the new forged 755 irons provide the soft feel, aesthetics and shot-making capabilities better players demand. Because we believe, as they do, that every club is a scoring club.

I just bought these clubs a week ago and had them custom fitted. I had the shaft extended three quarters and the face two degrees up. I have been hitting the ball solid, however I noticed that i have been losing a good 10 yards per iron. I must have hit my 7 iron 150 yards when normally it goes a smooth 165-170 yards. I've played 4-5 rounds with them and after reading all these good reveiws so far im thinking maybe i still need to adapt to them.

Eight years ago I bought a set of Ping ISI irons. I’ve played with them since then. I have been hesitant to buy a new set of irons because it is a big investment. The ISI’s were good irons back when I bought them so I figured that it wasn’t worth the $800. I finally started to look into some new clubs this summer and found great reviews on the 755’s. I decided to demo them last week. I was instantly amazed in the difference between the two. These clubs provided great feedback along with a soft feel. I have never been able to hit my 3 iron with my Pings. I honestly do not think that I’ve hit one perfect shot with it. I figured there was something wrong with my swing. Needless to say, I was hitting the 755’s 3 iron absolutely perfectly. The long irons in the 755’s felt more solid than the short irons in my Pings. Even when I hit a week shot with these clubs, they still went straight. After playing with these irons, I have not been able to get them out of my head. I finally broke down and ordered them today. I am a 10 handicap and I am excited to see what these clubs do for my game. It makes me mad to see what I’ve been missing out on for so long.

Hi,
I got these irons as a birthday present from my wife this afternoon after having finally found a shop that carries Titleist equipment. I'd been reading about this set on the Titleist site as well as here. Coincidentally, I'd been using Nike SlingShot OSS (also a birthday present from the wife), which have been very good to me for the past 12 months. But I've kind of outgrown the Nikes and thought it was time for a change to better clubs.

Now, about a year ago, I was consistenly shooting 110 to 115. Since using the Slingshots, I've brought my scores down to between 95 and 103. I can strike the ball well probably 6 out of 10 times. I don't know how to shape shots, but I can play low hooks as and when I need to - and that's the only shot I know how to play. So that gives you a rough idea of my level of play. And I'm mentioning my level of play because all the other reviews are by gentlemen who seem to be really good golfers. And the perception is that the 755 is meant only for better player golfers. Well, I'm not that good but I'm telling you, these irons, so far are quite good for me.

At the golf shop, I was quite apprehensive on getting this set as I'd always been using graphite shafts. So I was expecting a significant loss of distance, and that I would tire out after 4 or 5 holes with the stock NSPro 100 steel shafts on the 755 due to their extra weight as compare to graphites. since the 755 came with 2 shaft options I tried both at the shop, but finally settled on the NSPro over the Trispec per recommendation by the sales guy.

Got home and went straight to the range. I hit about 50 balls and discovered that I did not lose any distance as compared to my previous irons with graphite shaft. Even if I did, it was imperceptible. So my concerns on loss of distance was unfounded. Tomorrow, I'll be taking these sticks to the golf course and will find out if I'll run out of steam after 5 holes.

But so far, my rating is very good. Value for money is excellent. Quality is excellent too. I'm especially impressed with the feel at impact - now I know what it means when people say "it feels buttery soft". I hope that as I get better and learn to draw and fade, I'll be able to appreciate these irons even more.

These irons are amazing!I switched from the 735 CM's and took them to Lexington Golf and had them bent to fit me-1/2 degree up.Upon leaving the shop,I went straight to the range.I couldn't believe the results! The ball jumped off the face and went straight as an arrow to the target! And don't be swayed by the comments about the additional offset.Read the specs on these irons.True, they are slightly more than the MP 60's,but they are definitely longer and just as straight! The key is STILL to have a professional fitting session!I love everything about these clubs, and am sure that they will be in my bag for a long, long time!Absolutely beautiful clubs,Tri-spec stiff shaft is fantastic,LOVE 'EM!

I wanted to change my MP-60s which I have had for over a year now (though I actually really enjoyed them and was playing them well). I am left handed and have limited choice, and was not able to try most of the clubs I wanted to consider.

My choice came down to Titleist 735, 755, Mizuno MP 67, Callaway X-Forged.....

I made up my mind and bought these, based on spec sheet, knowing there was slightly more offset than on my MP60s.

I have played three rounds with them. The first round, i immediately loved them, had the stock steel shafts on them. I had the shafts changed to Dyna SL, stiff, and since then, slightly lowered the trajectory and felt I was swinging them more into my tempo ( had the Dyna SL on my MP60s).

Distance is roughly the same as the MP60s, possibly a little longer on short irons, and same on long irons, no big difference - distance in my mind is slightly above average with these (though not as long as the R7 draws and MX25s i had tried once). Forgivensss is greater than the MP60s, and similar to MX25s and other very forgiving non-beginner cavity backs.

Feel is pleasant, they are not the same carbon steel as MIzunos, but just as soft ( softer than Titleist previous steel used, such as on 690MB blades I had, which were somewhat harsh in comparison to Mizunos). The feel has less finesse than with the Mizuons, it's as if they're just as soft, but thicker, as if the feedback was slightly muted compared to the Mizunos (comparing with the same shafts).

Visually, they are pleasant, looking better in real life than on pictures. The red insert is actuall discreet and not too eye catching. I perceived the topline as being slightly thicker than with the MP60s, but in fact I think they are the same, the slightly increased offset giving this ipression. You will notice the higher offset though.

As a conclusion,I do consider them all in all a very good club, soft feel (though feedback is a little bit muted), good distance, esthetically pleasant. They are not blades and should not be perceived as such. They are not game improvement cavity backs (thinner topline and sole), but play as easily as them. I am a 5 hcp, and feel they are easier to mplay than the MP60s, which I thought were already easy to play. For the hardcore single digit hcp, you might want to push to something closer to a blade ( 735 or MP67), unless you want something comfortable to play with dsome forgiveness. Certainly good for anyone in the 0-20 hcp range.

Great sticks. After tinkering with the 735cms and Ping i5's, I can honestly say that the 755's feel just right. The ball seems to jump off the face of the club. Perfect for the 5 to 10 handicap. The TriSpecs seem very comparable to the TT DG S300 to me. They may promote a slightly higher ball flight but I did not experience any balooning. The 755's inspire confidence and produce the results you've come to expect from Titleist. I hope to have them in the bag for a long time.

These irons are great. I bought them off ebay for dirt cheap and have given me amazing results. they are a forgiving blade iron and look outstanding in my golf bag. these are the best irons ever and will be in my bag forever. they have very little offset on them so better players will get more accurate with their scoring irons.

I only got these irons yesterday. I managed to get a great deal trading my beautifull MP60's. (I needed a little more forgiveness) I was trying to decide betwen these and the TM R7 TP. Both irons are great but after carrying both 6 irons around with me for a couple of rounds playing double shots each time. I found the 755 to be a fair bit more cosistant. I higher flight and possibly a little longer. Standard set on these is 1/4 over 1 deg upright over most irons. Thats worth a couple of yards apparently. I hit every club really well including the 3 iron that I dont normally carry. The wedge was ripping the cover off my strata and biting the hard links greens here. All in all very pleased with these irons. I'm an 18 hcp

A followup to my previous review:

After playing with these irons for almost 2 months now I have to say I'm pretty happy! I've been playing most every weekend since acquiring these clubs and on all types of courses..links style..courses with narrow fairways..courses with lots of water and bunkers and the feedback (feel wise...) that I have gotten from these clubs has been really great! The "feel factor" is what definitely draws you to them. What's also unique about them is that even if you don't hit it flush, the shot turns out OK. These clubs are fairly forgiving for a set of forged irons! The Tri-Spec shaft in regular flex is fairly lighweight and well matched with my slower swing speed..I've especially noticed my approaches with the shorter irons to be much crisper and I feel more in control of my shot after executing it vs my previous set of Callaways...The ball flight is fairly high and the ball sits better on the green! Bump and runs are a joy to hit with the shorter irons and surprisingly I find the longer irons (3 and 4) more consistent than I expected! The look of the club is pure Titleist! I'm more of a traditionalist and Titleist caters to us a bit more than other brands..I'm glad because I've always admired one of my golfing buddies set of DCI clubs and in a way these clubs kind of remind me of them..They certainly are aethestically pleasing and give you an injection of confidence as you set up to make your shot! I would definitely agree that these clubs are more for the low to mid handicapper and generally, they reward you well for a swing that is well executed! I'm kind of surprised at the lack of reviews in this forum as these irons have been out for awhile but felt like throwing my "2 cents" worth in for those who may be considering these..They are well crafted clubs and definitely worth the investment if you're a "serious golfer"..isn't that Titleist's motto? Great clubs! Worth the investment to bring your game to the next level!

I had been thinking of a new set of irons for awhile and read about the 755s and became intrigued with this "players" club. I had hit forged irons before and the feeling is so much different from cast irons. The "feel" factor and definitely the workability factor of these irons captured my interest. After several weeks of mulling it over and looking at other iron sets I made the decision to get a set in regular flex. I spent a couple of days trying them out on the range and am very impressed! These irons are certainly less forgiving than traditional cavity backs but when hit flush provides unbelievable feedback! This is certainly for better players and I definitely would not recommend them for a beginner or for someone who has a hard time hitting their irons consistently...however if you are able to somewhat craft a shot these irons are worth a look! Aesthetically they are perfect and the satin finish is really a plus! I think Titleist has made a winner and I'm sure they will sell many of these! I've always been a big fan of Titleist clubs but have played with a set of Callaway X-14 Pro Series irons for over 5 years and still like them a lot but after having tested a friend's forged irons I was ready for a change..Forged provides better feel and workabilty and will take your game to the next level..Hope to add additional comments after playing them in a few rounds! Great clubs!
