R7 Draw
I have been playing with old "off the shelf" clubs that were purchased 12 years ago. I have always hated playing with these but with the few times a year I play, I never felt like it was worth buying a new set. I couldn't have been more wrong. I tested X20's, G5's and the R7Draw. I liked the feel of these the best. The weight of the club head moving through the ball was smooth and event. Making contact with the ball is asolid feel. Distance? WOW! I added about 1 1/2 clubs to the distance. I would hit my old 7 iron arond 135 yds. Now with the R7 Draws the 7 iron puts the ball at about 150 yards.

These do exactly what they say they do. When swinging hard I've been having trouble releasing too late with my old clubs (mx-25). The result is an ugly push. Bought these and now I hit it straight or a slight hook, even when swinging hard. Results are more predictable and slightly longer than usual. If lack of flexibility and active hips trouble you this may be the set for you. |

I posted the previous review and due to a browser glitch it gave the clubs an overall rating of "2" -- it should be a "5" |

Taylor Made R7 Draw Irons
I purchased R7 Draw irons with Project X shafts in May 2007 after testing numerous models with a club pro using a launch monitor. My swing speed is 90-95 and I have a high ball flight with a slight fade. I've played the TM LTs and Pings in the past and normally shoot in the low 80's. As such I was hesitant (mainly due to ego) to try a "super game improvement" iron. After trying many irons during my fitting I simply hit the R7 Draws the best and straightest. We also found that the Project X shaft worked best for my swing and ball flight (lowered it). I was concerned about the bulky look, but it's not as bad as I thought and I've adapted to them easily on the course. The feel is obviously not as sweet, but it's not bad and is very solid, and besides I'm okay giving up feel for accuracy and consistency. These clubs are obviously easy to draw but you CAN fade them too. Those that say you can't haven't hit them. I am extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend them to all levels of players except perhaps scratch golfers who prefer a forged club. These clubs were voted "Best in Category" by Golf Magazine and they live up to the billing. Give them a try and judge for yourself. Customer Service Very responsive. Got a set of these a few weeks ago and have played several rounds with them. I finally upgraded my irons after about 6 years, and all I can say is it was well worth it. I'm about a 7n handicap and have always had a minor fade, that for some reason, I hated. Well after getting these, no more fade. These things are arrow straight with a higher ball flight. The camnbered sole is great from the rough or fairway, and will not dig. Your divots will be much more shallow. Knockdowns are a breeze, as well as hitting an intentional hook. Hitting fades and cur shots might be a problem, but I'll gladly take the straight shots and consistentcy. As for distance, these clubs are almost a club longer than my Ping I3 O size. The feel is excellent, and you can tell where you hit it on the face. If you were having any reservation about trying these, DON'T! Check out ebay and you'll always find a deal.
