Sonartec MD transition 19* 2i/5w
I recently purchased a Sonartec MD off of ebay for a great price and went out to the range to hit a few balls with it. After a few balls and figuring out how this club acts i feel in love with it. I was launching it as far as my old 3 wood about 225-230 with range balls. It has the best trajectory of any club I have ever hit coming straight off the rack and no wonder it gets all the hype it deserves. I wish this company was still around because I believe this is the best hybrid ever made including the new Adams tour prototype. Sonartec MD 19 2i
i purchased this same club 2 1/2 years ago, but it had a UST Irod X shaft in it, and i had a terrible time making good contact, even on tee shots. i struggled so much with it, i traded it in for store credit. now recently i saw one with a rifle steel shaft, and i gave it a try. next thing you know, it's in my bag and my go-to club on a tight fairway. i use it off the tee, and when there is trouble left and right to a tight green. very accurate. ballflight is low on occasion, but absolutely doesn't balloon. one of the problems i had with the Irod shaft was, during my backswing, i couldn't feel the clubhead. it felt so light when i swung it. i looked up some specs, and lo and behold, the standard length for the 2i yielded a swgwt of D-0! i love this club so much now, that i traded my Cleveland Launcher Comp driver for the 23 degree to replace my mizuno 4 iron. now i feel i can still attack pins when my driving goes astray. i do think that these clubs play better with heavier shafts, or longer than standard graghite shafts. just my two cents. Sonartec Md 17-degree hybrid
On the average, I am shooting in the range of 87-92 and I don't hit long so I have to rely so much on accuracy. My driver is 225 +/- yds, my 5-iron is about 145-150 yds and my pitching wedge is about 95-100 yds. Last year I bought a 17-deg R-flex Irod graphite shafted Sonartec, at the same time I have a 18-deg Snake-Eye hybrid built that came with a ProLaunch R-flex shaft (my favorite shaft). I found that the Prolaunch R-flex is slightly stiffer than Irod R-flex. When I hit both of them correctly, the 17-deg Sonartec has a tendency to give me higher ball's flight than that of 18-deg SnakeEye, hence 5-10 yds longer. However, I found that the ball dispersion of SnakeEye is , in general, better than that of Sonartec. Since the Sonartec is more flexible, I have to remember to take the club back very slowly and come down hard. I am still learning how to use both clubs so I carry both of them in my bag. On a windy day, I always use SnakeEye, when it's not windy then I will pull out the Sonartec. Personally, I think both of them are good, you just have to find the one that fit YOUR swing Customer Service not use |

Sonartec MD Transitition
I reviewed this club when I bought it nearly a year ago. I have 2 clubs in 21 and 23 lofts which replace my 3 and 4 irons. I regard these clubs as direct replacements for my 3 and 4 irons and decided to re-shaft them with the same shaft as the rest of my set (TT DG lite R300). There was nothing really wrong with the UST irod but I don't like graphite shafts in my irons. Initial tests have shown that the performance of club is not diminished by this exercise by I believe that the feel has been enhanced and the club feels a little heavier with the steel shaft. Control is improved as well and the trajectory is a little lower. I still have no difficulty in getting the ball airbourne. Sonartec md 25
I got the MD 25 on a lark as it was 69 bucks on Ebay and decided to give it a try...glad I did. It is a very controllable club, hits low and straight and can be worked both ways...I really like how it sets up behind the ball and the solid feeling at impact...and it is LONG!!! I have the 25* and I carry 200yds with it!!! I have the TM dual rescues in 19 and 22 and they are quite good, but I think I am going to trade them in for Sonartecs...I love this club!!! Sonartec MD Hybrid 2i/19*
What can I say except for.... I LOVE THIS CLUB! This is my first hybrid and let me tell you, I am thoroughly satisfied with the playability and performance of this club. The feel is solid even on slight mis-hits. It also has nice trajectory that is not too high while still being able to land softly. I highly recommend this club! Sonartec MD 21degree LH
Purchased the MD 21degree with stiff Irod shaft to take the spot of my 3iron/5wood.Ive never owned a hybrid and after reading tons of reviews about them I decided to get one.I chose Sonartec based on reviews and am glad I did.The flight of the ball is wicked. It takes off low and climbs to a penetrating hight and rips through the air with laser accuracy with no ballooning(unless you want it to)and I was quite suprised on how soft it lands.Oh,and its freaking long.Normanl 3 iron is 210 carry 220 rollout. The MD is 235 carry 245 rollout.I recomend this club for everyone as it will shave strokes off your game and make it more enjoyable. Customer Service Have not used but word of mouth is their pretty good. Similar Products Used: None.First Hybrid. |

Sonartec MD 23 Deg Reg
I purchased this club with an UST IROD regular shaft and Sonartec branded tour velvet grip. Price was $160 (approx). I don't know much about the IROD shaft but inital impressions are very favorable. I purchased this to get a bit more carry in the 4 iron range. My previous hybrid was a Ben Hogan Edge CFT which was an excellent club. The Sonartec is quite a different animal altogether. It is not as easy to hit but is still easier than the traditional 4 iron by a considerable margin. It does not launch as high as the Hogan and in my brief experience is not quite as easy to use out of the rough. The head is also a little lighter than the Hogan so it is not quite as effective out of the heavier stuff. This club will take a little adjuting to but I believe it will prove an effective tool as a replacement for the 4 iron. This is a very well made club and is visually very attractive with its dark metallic blue head which does not have the rather unusual metal flake finish of the NP99. Customer Service Not used Similar Products Used: Ben Hogan Edge CFT hybrids which are perhaps the best value hybrids on the market at the moment. Taylormade Rescue Mid, a truly awful club in my hands but gets rave reviews from other users. Wilson rescue club (don't know which model) which was quite good for the money. |

Best utility club I have used. I carry a 23* as a 3 iron replacement and a 17*. They are my only fairway woods. I like the iron like setup. I have outdriven playing partners with my 17* which I employ as a driving iron when driver isn't the play. It hits a piercing ball-flight. It's all good. Similar Products Used: TaylorMade TP |
