Raven 1020i Tour Spec
I was looking for the finest players blade I could find in the component industry which to me meant zero offset, thinner topline, forged, CNC milled face and CNC milled grooves. I only found one company anywhere on-line which sells this quality to non-business golfer/clubmakers. The 1020i Tour Spec is the same size and shape as the 1020i, except with the CNC milling on the face and grooves and hand forging. The heads came pre-weighed and within tollerances which helped in swingweighting. I assembled the clubs on Royal Precision Air Lite regular flex shafts which I ordered and had "pured" at Golf Smith. I built the clubs at 3/4" over standard. I have now played with the clubs several times and found that for me they are the finest playing irons I have ever played. The claims of a buttery soft feel from the 8620 carbon steel are true and the sweet spot is large. Feedback is clear but not jarring. The clubs do exactly what my swing tells them to do, fade draw, high or low. The CNC milling makes for a very consistent ball flight from iron to iron. The first time I played with the clubs I had not gone to the range with them and I faced a 190 yard 4 iron shot slightly around a tree to a perched green. It was my finest 4 iron ever to sit it on the green and I am now for the first time in my life very confident with all my Irons. You will need a 3/8" bit to clean out the hosels before assembly but that was a minor item. I would highly recommend these irons. The total cost for 3-PW built up through Lamkin full cord crossline grips was not cheap at $590.00 but I feel I have a superior product custom made for me. Customer Service The Ordering Process went very well on the Heads and shafts, and the dealer rep at the raven dealer in Bradenton Florida was helpful.
