Precept Tour Premium Forged Irons

Precept Tour Premium Forged Irons

DESCRIPTION

When Precept decided to introduce a premium forging into the industry, we consulted one of the games best ball strikers - Stuart Appleby. With his direction and assistance, we have achieved the goal of creating one of the finest forgings in the game. The Precept Tour Premium Forged Iron is forged from the finest 1025 mild carbon steel providing exceptional feel and playability. Featuring a progressive cavity-back design, the long irons are easy to get in the air, while the short irons produce a flatter trajectory. With its longer hosel and minimal offset, the Tour Premium Forged Irons will appeal to the most discriminating traditionalist while maintaining a high level of forgiveness not found in muscleback designs.

Very, very good choice for former blade players looking for a litte more forgiveness. Non-offset, with the perfect size, and weighted for perfect trajectory from club to club. These will be in the bag for a long time. Great time to pick these up as they can be had for about 1/3 of what they originally retailed for. and much less on eBay.

AWESOME SET OF IRONS WITH AN INCREDIBLE SOFT FEEL. I WAS MOST IMPRESSED BY THE FORGIVNESS ON MIS-HITS. IF YOU ARE A DESCENT BALL STRIKER YOU HAVE TO DEMO THESE. SIMPLY THE BEST VALUE IN IRONS ON THE MARKET.

Great forged club. Shopped and looked at many different irons, but ended up picking these up after a demo at a local golf store. Soft feel, very workable. I'd only recommend them for lower handicaps. Great clubs!!!

These irons are great. Much more forgiving than the very shallow cavity back would indicate. Nice and weighty and very solid and medium soft at impact. Probably the most workable forged iron out there that would still be suitable for mid handicappers. Because of the heel biased weighting, the sweet spot goes from the center of the club face and in towards the hosel. I've tried lots of clubs, and this is one of the best ones out there for the mid to low handicapper--the Hogan Edge Pro is another great stick-a bit softer feel, and maybe a bit less workable than this club, but equally solid and forgiving. If you are a mid to high handicapper who does'nt care too much to work on your swing, and wants more immediate gratification, then you would be better off with the Tour Premium CB's. However the Tour Premium is probably the best club out there for a club to grow with yet still provide acceptable forgiveness in the meantime. A scratch golfer could really make this club sing and dance. I ordered these sight unseen and could'nt be happier with them. I also like the fact that the long iron heads are'nt scary small as is the case with a lot of other forged clubs. Beautiful to look at, and outstanding performers--Kudos to Precept for making this excellent club

I love these irons. They are a bit less forgiving than lots of clubs out there, but I do not find them too dificult to hit. If you are concerned with forgiveness, you should not be looking at these clubs anyway. Don't buy forged blades if you don't have the game, you will only cost yourself strokes trying to look good. Anyway, of all the forged clubs I looked at, I felt these were the best in terms of looks and feel. It is easy to work the ball as needed. I love the Dynamic Gold shaft. I looked at the TaylorMade 300's but did not want the Rifle shaft. $400 at TGW.com is a steal.

These are a great set of irons for me. A perfect blend of feel, forgiveness and playability. I took them straight from the box to the course and had the best scoring round of my life, due in large part to accurate approaches from these sticks. I believe these irons will remain in my bag for a long time.

I have played a lot of sticks in the last few years and these rank right up there near the top of the heap. Most importantly, these irons are a near-perfect bridge between deep cavities and true blades. They offer a substantially higher level of playability over blades without minimal loss in feel and workability. The quality of the fit and finish is superb. I opted for Rifle 6.0's in my set and they are a perfect match for these heads. The feel on flushed shots is as good as any blade I have played and the margin of error is much improved. The swingweights are rated at D3 on the Precept website but the overall clubweight feels a bit heavier. Personally I really like the heavier feel, it aids in maintaining excellent tempo. If you're a pretty good ball-striker but looking for something just a tad easier than blades but with the same great feel, these are what you're looking for. At $400 this is the best value in a high quality forged club that you'll find. Check out TGW before they're gone.

These are beautiful irons. I bought them used (hit just twice). I was surprised how forgiving these are. I''ve hit some shots that felt heavy, but the ball just keeps going. I am currently holding an 8.5 index. These are heavier than my Pings, but the weight seems to help me swing better. Shots hit on the sweetspot are rewarding with the wonderful feeling of a forged club.

I have wanted to play these clubs since I first saw them in Stuart Appleby''s bag. I used to play Mizuno Blades. But these clubs are great. I got them for a great deal used off of Ebay. (I highly suggest Ebay, b/c most are in great shape and these are golf clubs people, they are going to get worn after a while anyway) I had them bent to my specs and extended. ( I am 6''5") and now they are so sweet. I hit the ball high usually, but I can hit them low with distance control (especially in this south florida wind) and left and right also. They are beautiful clubs too. They look so good at set up, they have the classic square toe to them, and they are so easy to hit. I highly suggest them for low to mid handicappers.

If your looking for a forgiving forged club give these a try. These clubs have a beautiful feel and balance to them. These clubs outperform any muscleback irons. They are very easy to hit. They are a far better club than the TM 300 series. I can work the ball both directions with no problem. They do exactly what you ask of them.
