Ping Rapture V2
I have played Ping isi-K, i3+, s57 ll steel stiff, rapture V2 graphite stiff (which I retained), and recently the excellent Ping i20 steel regular. I have been scoring well with these. I planned to trade in the Raptures for a set of TaylorMade MC Project-X 6.5 for my son who hits it a long way. Before trading I tried a 'farewell round' with the Raptures. I realised that despite the i20s being fantastic clubs, the Raptures were even stronger and more forgiving. While they do not have the aesthetic beauty of others, who cares; they work so well. I recommend for all handicappers. If G10s were good enough for Lee Westwood, then Rapture V2s will do me. I'll hold onto the i20s, mind you as I shot 71 with them round the Valley Course Portrush last August! Customer Service I recommend Carnoustie Golf as excellent in terms of service and politeness. Good evening gentleman. After a quick spin around the club this morning, followed by a few games of gin with the lads & tea, I've decided to sit by the fire and enlighten you all as to the fortitude of said irons. My particular set was special ordered through the WRX division of Ping (formerly Karsten Manufacturing). A friendly employee named Tinsley assisted with the order. I dare say they are a competent lot.
Customer Service My assitant deal with customer service. I have neither the time nor inclination to deal with such people. Similar Products Used: Many, it seems. |

Ping Rapture V2 Iron Set
I've always been a Ping iron advocate. I've played ISI-K and G2's for many years. About 6 months ago, I decided to go all out and get their top of the line irons. So, I bought a used set off Ebay (authentic) for a decent price (these clubs aren't cheap). Receiving the clubs that showed to be almost brand new, I was excited to get started with my new Ping irons. From that point the optimism dwindled. These clubs hit like a brick with no feel. Even more so, I just couldn't get over the huge size of the head. The sole width is extremely wide and it gave me the impression I was hitting a hybrid on every shot. From my evaluation of Ping clubs, it seems the super sole width started with the Ping G-10's. The Rapture V2's played nothing like my G-2's and I regretted ever trading them in for these shovels. Some may like the bigger head, if so, more power to you. For me, they didn't work. Customer Service Never used, but heard by others they are good. Similar Products Used: A little bit of everything. Most recently Ping G-2 and Callaway X-24. |

Ping V2 Rapture
I've been golfing for 8 years now with the old school Tommy Armour 767's that my grandpa gave me. He is 6'4 and I am 5'6 so you can imagine how inconsistent my golfing game has been playing with a set of clubs fitted for someone so tall. I've managed to keep my game down in the 90's with a rare round in the 80's. I figured it was time to get a new set of clubs fitted for me. I tried out 3 different sets and FELL IN LOVE with the Raptures!!! I've never been able to hit a ball like I did with the raptures on the range. If you have the money GET THEM ASAP!!!! I hit 50 balls with a 7i,5i, & PW. I dropped all balls within a 10-20ft radius around the flags and hit the big PVC tubing surrounding the flags 6 times!!! Everything felt so smooth and dead on! I have to say there may not be a sweeter sound than the loud "GONG" I heard when I hit those flags! It turned heads! hahahaha!! I got fitted and am waiting on my set to come in the mail this week! I got steel shafts since I don't need graphite at my skill level, but I still added 10-20yds on the clubs I used. These are totally worth the price!!! |

I picked up trial 7 iron in our pro shop. My Taylor made bubble iron I hit about 130 yds. On first par 3 of 144 yds the Rapture carried 140 after climbing twice as high as my old club, pitched and moved 6 inches. I was using a Srixon soft feel and the Rapture grooves had taken some shreds off the ball. Hard to tell where on the face you hit the ball but doesn't seem to matter as it was always high and arrow straight. I've now ordered 6 thro' PW, will post more in few weeks.

i been a fan of taylormade and have used the ti bubble 2 clubs for 10 years and loved them i always tryed out new demo and nothing blew me away like the ping rapture v2 it hit dead straignt every time even on a not so good swing i didnt have to worry. thies clubs are verry forgiving but you still have control over the clubs to move ur shot i only played 2 rounds since i have been fitted but thies clubs didnt make me think twice about retireing the old bubble 2's
