Love my HLs, like the other reviewer, I hated hitting 5wood, too long a shaft and a slight mis-hit could be huge trouble. Those of you hitting it 230 consistently, kudos. I average 200-220 depending on my swing. I love that i can dot the green with these, my friends were shocked that I could leave the ball next to the ball mark, these hit the ball so high that rolling through the green is not a worry. They let me go for greens and that has definitely lowered my handicap.

I recently bought new set of G2 Irons 4HL, 5-PW and I love the set as a whole. When I ordered the set I was interested in the HL because I could never really hit my 3 or 4 irons well (or at all). So I went with a 4 HL and regret not getting a 5 HL. I never had a problem hitting a 5 iron before, and I still don't, but I hit the 4 HL much easier. The HL is an exceptional design and truely does improve your long iron game. I now prefer my 4 HL over my 5 or 6 because it's easier to hit.

I recently went from Titleist 690.MB blades to Ping S59 Irons (See review for those posted on S59 reviews). I have always carried a 2 iron, mainly for use off the tee on Par 4's less than 360-370 yards, or for narrow fairways off the tee. I rarely used it off the fairway. When I tried this club I was pleasantly surprised that I could take it off the fairway as easily as off a tee. Granted, it does not have the lower tajectory of a conventional 2 iron, but the ease of use makes up for the higher ball flight in my book. I get nice distance out of it, around 230+ yards on a smooth swing. Ball flight is very high however. I play well enough that I want to keep regular irons in the bag for the rest of my set, but if you are having issues hitting your long irons, these could be a great alternative for you!

I'm the type of golfer who has never been able to hit a 2 iron. Problem solved! I hit this more consistently than ANY club i have ever used! I have a cleveland launcher 460 driver which i don't feel as confident as i do every time i take this iron out. I'm not a strong swinger but 210 yds with absolutely no effort. I can't stress enough how much you need to try these out on a range. I just ordered a 3 and 4 iron because of the sheer amazement that these irons give when you hit them. This is serious stuff for golfers who want to feel and look better when your staring down an intimidating long iron shot. No more long shafted 5-woods/i don't know where this ball is gonna go or how far/i might hit this fat/thin, i hope this doesn't slice or hook for me, it's the 2 iron everytime! Why? because it's straighter and more consistent then anything out there...HANDS DOWN!!! Would you rather keep buying clubs or just spend some extra money and get THE clubs.

PING G2 HL 3-5 IRONS. I HAVE CHANGED FROM TA 7'S HOPING TO ACHIEVE FURTHER IRON DISTANCE BUT MAINTAINING THE ACCURACY. THE DISTANCE IS AT LEAST ONE GOOD CLUB LONGER AND THE ACCURACY IS BETTER ! I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THE G2'S AND MY SCORES HAVE DROPPED FROM HIGH TO MID 80'S IN 2 MONTHS. THE G2'S ARE NOT CHEAP BUT I FELT IT WAS WORTH PAYING THE PRICE AS IT INCLUDED THE FITTING SERVICE WHICH HAS PAID DIVIDENDS FOR ME.

These clubs are absolutely incredible. It's like hitting butter. Great ball flight, Nice soft landings. I didnt think it was going to get any better than the Eye 2's that ive grown to love.... but ping hit it dead on when they built these clubs. Just do yourself a favor... at least ask to swing one next time your in your local proshop... im glad i did.

Ping have always made great clubs, but I think with the G2's they've upped the bar on their reputation for forgiveness. I bought the 3-5HL's as part of a set of their G2 irons. After an hour or so at the driving range, I was amazed at how straight and forgiving the HL's are. Just like other Ping Irons, place the ball, and hit it.....POW, straight and long. Next day out on the course I hit some of my best long iron shots ever. Best long irons I've ever played (And I've played a few!). As for shorter distance? BS... I gained 10-15 yards with these clubs over my TA7's or my Nike Pro Combo's. See the G2 section for my review of the full G2 set. Get fitted, then get these clubs. Awesome!!!

This is a great club! Forgiveness is as good as any hybrid club that I've tried. Accuracy is far superior. Distance is shorter due to shorter shafts. These clubs fit the bill for me! Price was $88 per club.
