Again, just like the new Titleist 681's, can anyone say MP-33's? This is a joke, Nike and Titleist have only copied the best club forgings from Mizuno. Why can't anyone really be original. One a lighter note, I feel like the good ideas were taken, so the club look is not applicable. I play the KZG forged II, if you're looking for a good set of forged blades, try KZG. www.kzggolf.com

Sheesh, I come here to read some reviews and I am just reading 2 guys fighting on a message board. Erase those posts along with this one. I might as well waste review space as well.

I just switched from cavity backs (Callaway X-14) last week. And I can see some improvements already. I feel my ball flight is more accurate and the control is great. Before the switch, I was a little bit doubtful because everyone has told me to stick with cavity backs. Everyone says it's so much harder to hit with blades but I find that not necessary true. I think each person has their own unique swing. If you (who shoots in the 80s) are thinking of switching from CB to MB (blades), just rent some and try it out at the range. Don't just listen to what people say, especially those who work at pro shop. They have no clue how you swing and your desire to improve your game. And certainly don't be fooled by what you see on the tour. The pros get paid to use those clubs. At their level, they can kick our ass with just a putter in the bag (maybe not, but you get what I mean). You might be surprised how you control the ball and the accuracy of using blades. For me personally, I think I have lost a little bit of distance. But I think it's because of the higher lie angle and the shorter shaft length compared to my Callaways. Or maybe I need some more practice but overall I am very please with them. I totally agree with some of the previous posters. They are a lot of similar blades out there are just as good as Nikes and definitely much cheaper too. For instance, the Mizunos, and Clevelands. It all comes down to brand preference.

A QUICK 'SHOUT OUT' TO ALL MY PALS: First a few apologies to those who actually come to a site looking for unbiased or at least 'informed' feedback. If I offended any of you, then I'm sorry. As for the idiots like "BLADE1" who re-submits reviews under new names to get back at someone who called his sorry game out, get a life. Yes, these blades are nice. If you're a player who routinely shoots in the mid-80's like BLADE, then you won't know the difference between these irons, Mizuno's offerings or even Cleveland's. My suggestion to you is this: unless you own stock in Nike, buy what's cheapest --- it's probably going to be Cleveland. All forgings play similarily --- it's a matter of opinion and believe me, there's no way a hack like BLADE could tell the difference. Hell, he probably couldn't tell a Callaway from Hogan. Taking direction from him is akin to having your 16-year old take driving lessons from a blind and senile 90 year old. My point is this: they both like to hear themselves yap. If you're serious about getting a set of forged irons --- DO IT. Playing with them will make you a better golfer --- you'll learn to swing better if you play them and you'll learn what all the pro's mean when they talk about 'workability'. Don't get me wrong: these are sweet irons and they feel really solid. Are they better than Mizuno's?? Probably not, but every bit as good. As for my game being called out: I'm a 'true' scratch --- if you think by calling me names it will somehow make up for the disparity in our golf scores, you're sorely mistaken. I'll take on all comers ---straight up.

These Nike irons are a must have for either a low or mid-handicapper, it doesn't matter. The feel and feedback is incredible. These irons are "hammers" though, you can feel the clubhead at every point of your swing and you know it's coming down behind the ball with some force and a soft feel at impact. If you like a lighter club, I wouldn't get these, or hack a 1/4 or 1/2 inch off the shaft length to lighten them up a little. It's very easy to work the ball both ways with control and consistency. Toe hits even feel solid with minimal loss of distance. I haven't gained or lost any distance with these compared to my other set of Cleveland TA1's. A nice, easy, controlled swing is all you need to hit these well. I am not a PRO by any means, but I can play the game. I know what I like in an set of irons, and these Nikes are it. Don't be afraid of switching from a set of cavity backs to a set of blades, they might just make you a better ball striker. I wouldn't pay $899 for a 3-PW set from a golf shop or retail store though (no offense to anyone who has already), but check out Ebay and I guarentee you will find them for cheaper than what I paid for mine a month ago. Go for it, you will not be disappointed with your purchase.

These are fantastic irons first off, and second off a few words to all the misinformed Tiger fans out there (BobbyV): Tiger did NOT help design these blades, nor does he play them, he plays custom Titleist clubs stamped with a T. Forged blades, yes, but Nike's, no. David Duval, however does play them and did help in their design, in fact he won the British last year with a prototype set.

Well, I finally broke down and bought the replacement set to my 1985 Wilson Staff. I took the Nike, Mizuto, Ping and Callaway's out on demo - I didn't like the feel of the cavity back, so the Ping and Callaway were out, the heads were just too big; felt like I was swinging a shovel. The Mizuto and Nike were a toss up, neither felt as good as the "old" tech Wilsons I have used for 16 years. I chose Nike because it was the closest to my set of Staff - I hope to hand them down to my 7 year old son as my father handed the Wilson Staff set to me.

Very very soft feel. Same distance as my old set of Mizuno MP-29, maybe just a wee bit shorter and 1 1/2 club shorter then my Hogan Apex Plus. Excellent quality control. All irons swinged weight to D4 execpt 7I which was D3.8 so excellent manufacturing. Shaft is DG R300, for me it feels a little weak but the S300 are too stiff for me. I am used to playing flighted rifles 5.5 on both MP-29 and Apex Plus irons. Trajectory is hi. Has weak lofts as compared to most cavity backed irons. Very simular to Muzuno MP-14 in loft and feel, maybe a wee bit softer then the Mizuno forgings. Very classy chrome/nickle finish. Min offset. less offset even then the MP-29 LOL. They have smaller heads then the MP-33 or the new Titlleist 690MB, about the same size as the MP-14. Grips are just a bit smaller then what is now standard on mens irons in size. The Nike grips size wise are like the old traditional mens size. Paid $1400 CDN + taxes. Cheaper then the MP-29 were when new but more expensive then the newer MP-33, and Apex blade's. The new Titleist 690MB are actually $100.00 cheaper here.
