Strength:

This may be on account of the different materials used. The sets were priced the same and the CG1s were in much better shape and so I ended up buying them. - mobile mechanic

I own many brands, hit all major and popular models. Nicklaus makes quality equipment. The CGX irons in particular are very responsive and feel amazingly solid when struck. That word appears in many reviews because it best describes the way these irons feel. I've always played blades, was most recently using hogan Apex. These are a game improvement club for a good player. Not too oversize or clunky. Great feel and look. An no, I don't work for a golf shop. Don't pay attention to postings with a low rating put there just to "offset" other high ratings.

These irons are amazing. I have never played with a more forgiving iron.Though I have lost 5-7 yards in my 3 through 5 irons, all in all they are the best club for the money!!

I recently had Wilson clubs and made the switch to the VCG's. These clubs are very forgiving. You can put a good amount of spin with a good flight as well. I would recommend these clubs to anyone who is a mid to low handicap.

I had been playing Ping Eye 2's for the past 16 years, so I'm not one to switch willy nilly for every claim of technological superiority. I've tried lots of clubs over the years, and some were very good, but not good enough to take the Pings out of my bag. However, The VCG irons convinced me to switch. Its really quite simple denser steel means you can have a thinner face and put more weight on the perimeter. That means a bigger sweet spot and more forging characteristics. It works. There is a trade off between forgiveness and worability with irons, so if you want to shape shots, its best to go with a forged blade like the pros, but if you are looking for a game improvemnt club, Nicklaus has some great ones in the VCG and the newer CGX. The clubs look great and set up nicely. They are high quality sticks. Heck, if Jack uses them, who am I to argue? Here's the BEST part. I sold my 16 year old Pings with steel shafts and bought the Brand new VCG's with the HST graphite Hyperlite shafts (only 50 grams) and STILL came out money ahead. Smart golfers will give Nicklaus clubs serious consideration. The denser steel is not smoke and mirrors like a lot of "new" technology. It really is and advance.

Customer Service

Very helpful regarding changing club lies.
