Nickent Golf GH Plus HyperSteel™ Irons

Nickent Golf GH Plus HyperSteel™ Irons

DESCRIPTION

Originally developed for used in the aerospace industry, our 450 HyperSteel™ material is process-hardened to yield a strength-to-mass ratio almost 50% higher than traditional stainless steel. In golfing terms, this means a thinner but stronger clubface with the saved weight being redistributed to where it most benefits the golfer....towards the sole and perimeter of the clubhead.

I had been doing a lot of research on irons as I felt it was time to replace my knock-off Armour 845 o-size irons w/ reg graphite (Tour Series 948e). I decided to go with the GH Plus and found a demo set offered on eBay that no one purchased. So I followed up with the dealer and got a sweet deal. The clubs were in 9+ condition, and the heads have a gun metal finish and the shafts are the UST ProForce 75 stiff. Wow, what a pleasure. Plenty of foregiveness, solid feel, nice trajectory, and distance. It''s almost auto-matic. I''m very happy!!

I have recently joined the golfing fold again after a 10 year lay off. I needed to replace my old clubs. My club professional showed me the GH hypersteel irons versus 8 other prominent brands of irons. I was impressed with them then, as I am now. They are similar if not better than Callaway X14''s, but without the price. With the wider sweet spot I find my miss hits are signifantly better. If I strike them well the ball travels significant distance. I am now keen to try the Nickent faiway woods.

I have played several iron sets over the last 3 years, and never really found a set that I felt comfortable with - until now. These clubs are great!! They are long and straight. Working the ball is not easy because of the progressive offset, but for a mid-handicapper like me, they are fine. I am hitting more greens than ever before. I purchased the clubs with stell "uniflex" shafts, and I am very pleased with the performance. High value, low price. I highly recommend that you try these clubs if you are in the market for a new set of irons. These are high quality irons.

After only one month at the game of golf, I started shopping for replacements for my 20 year old hand-me-down clubs. I first looked at all the discount store brands. I kept moving up the line until I came to the NICKENT GH Plus irons and woods. I spent twice as much as I planned, and half as much as the name brands. I am not a bit sorry. This was the best investment in the game I could make. I will grow with these clubs instead of out growing them. Along with my irons I have driver and a 7 wood, I hope to add a 3 wood next. After only 10 rounds of golf I am hitting the driver 245 yards, the 7 wood 185 yards, and straight as a die. Not bad for 57. Oh, and my 12 year old daughter who started when I did, she is hitting her new La Jolla Teen driver 225 yards. But I will save that for another review.

I went to NB to buy the X-14s but ended up with these. The staff recommended them. Tried them out and honestly couldn't feel much difference between the 2. Not sure if these are considered clones but I'm totally happy with them, especially in terms of value-for-money. I got the GH+ woods as well and those are just awesome. I hope Nickent sticks around for a long time.

Excellent Irons.
I was looking for a set of affordable Irons and after several reviews and trips to more than 5 stores, I found this IRONS, nice balance and touch, not heavy and the ball went low and straight.
The golf store has a simulator, so I try most of the irons with the same result.
Very similar to the Callaway x-14 but way cheaper.
I bought the GHPLUS HYPERSTEEL DRIVER 9 with proforce shaft, excellent driver.
I've been able to get to the green in two shots.
Not expensive but the materials are more than good and the best they have a life time warranty.
This a good option for a nice set of clubs with less than 400 DLLs.

ONE WORD... AWESOME! THESE MIGHT ACTUALLY MIGHT FEEL BETTER SEX! I WENT INTO A NEARBY GOLF STORE ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AFTER GETTING MY TAX REFUND, THINKING THAT THE CXI'S WERE THE STICK FOR MY BUDGET, AND LEVEL OF PLAY. I DEMOED IN GRAPHITE: THE CXI, THE TAYLOR MADE "NOT-SO SUPER" STEEL, THE V-31, AND THESE (ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE THE PROFORCE 65 SHAFT IN MY PING DRIVER.) GRANTED, I ONLY HAD 5 IRONS IN EACH TO DEMO, BUT THE BALANCE AND FEEL OF THE GH PLUS WITH THE P.F. SHAFT WERE GREAT. I GO THROUGH ABOUT A SET OF IRONS EVERY YEAR, SO I'D LIKE TO THINK THAT WHILE I'M NOT GREAT, I'VE HAD PLENTY OF CHANCES TO IMPROVE WITH NEW EQUIPMENT. WHILE STILL EARLY, THESE BEAUT'S HAVE DEFINITELY IMPROVED MY BALL STRIKING. THE IRON SHAFT VERSION OF THE PROFORCE FEELS HEAVIER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD, BUT IT'S JUST AS ACCURATE AS THE SHAFT IN MY DRIVER. I'D NEVER HEARD OF THIS COMPANY BEFORE BUT THE GUY AT N.B.'S SAID THEY WERE WORTH TRYING OUT. EVIDENTLY THIS COMPANY'S PLAN IS TO RULE THE "AFFORDABLE" SEGMENT OF THE GOLF CLUB MARKET WITHIN THE NEXT 5 YEARS BY DECENT LINE STUFF WITH GREAT SHAFTS AT ABOUT HALF OF WHAT PINGS AND CALLAWAYS SELL FOR.
I BOUGHT A SET ABOUT FIVE WEEKS AGO, AND BASED ON MY EARLY EXPERIENCE, THEY MIGHT JUST DO IT.

I have used a Nickent GH+ Driver for over a year and loved the driver. I tried several iron sets at a local NB store and found I liked the Callaway X-14's the best. They suggested the Nickents and they felt very much the same and the more I hit them, the better they felt. I have played them almost 25 rounds so far and have a lot of confidence in them. I am playing at or a little better then my best golf and a lot of that has to do with having confidence in the consistent yardage I get with these irons.

I had never heard of these clubs. I first saw them in the display thinking they were callaways. I tried the demo club out and knew pretty much straight away they missed nothing on there more expensive counterparts. I got my clubs fitter with rifle shafts at 6.0 flex, and have a more consistent feel to them. I found it strange at first with my setup, I was push fading everything at first, but this was due to the setup and the offset of the club. After this, I was darting them at the stick. To date, worst round has been a 76. I was previously using 15yr old blades, have seen a huge difference. I have found the wedges a pleasant surprise and really easy to chip with, both from heavy and skinny lies. However, if you have a favourite loft wedge (cobra trust rusty here) keep it. A real good buy and I recommend them to all. I also have the 8 degree GH plus steel driver. I would not recommend 8 degrees to all. I have that to keep it down ( wind play). One word for this, "LONG". I hit a duff drive 275 yards. Have not duffed many that long. Driver/ Sand Iron to a 415yd par 4 tells you a bit more about it. Never ever hit a SI to this before. Great clubs at a great price.
