I guess this is as close as a category as these fit into. I am reviewing the Nickent 3dx dc 3 and 4 hybrids with the ust speed rated graphite shafts in regular flex. I have to be honest, the first few times i hit these clubs i did not like them. I couldnt get any consistancy out of them and wondered why i bought them until i adjusted my setup and now.... WOW do these things fly long and straight and land soft too. NEVER and i mean NEVER could i hit my 3 or even 4 iron this well. I could sometimes get the distance i do with these but not the great trajectory or soft landings i find with these hybrids. I have tried almost every hybrid on the market and while most of them play very similar to these i decided on the Nickents because of the price and the fact that they are just sexy looking clubs. If i had to state a weakness it would be that i do not use the head covers and the paint on the top chips very easily and the finish on the bottom chips easily as well from normal cart riding clanking. I have a 14 divider bag but these clubs are noticably dinged up and none of my other irons or woods display similar problems. Also, if i had to do it all over again i might opt for different shafts, im not a huge fan of "speed rated" shafts. As a nice bonus i like using these for bump and runs near the green though the face is a bit hot for that.

Bought this club to replace my 2 iron. Didn't care for the stock steel shaft as I hooked it too easily. Replaced that with a Pro-Jec R TI9520 stiff graphite shaft and it's now a fantastic club. Easy to hit from any lie, even deep rough. Especially good off tight fairway lies. I use it off the tee on tight driving holes and you need to tee it very low, almost on the turf. Can move it both ways, but mostly it wants to go straight. Great for 2nd shots on short to medium par 5s too. I can always count on 230-235 with this club and can go after it and stretch it 10-15 yards if necessary. It's also a bargain. I paid quite a bit less than $100 new at a local golf specality store.

I bought a 20-degree 3DX with the stock UST speed-rated stiff shaft to replace my 3-iron. I wanted a higher ball flight and more versatility than I was gettig from my 3-iron. I must say that I have been extremely well pleased. The 3DX has become my "go-to" club. I get about 210-215 yards of carry and can hit it from nearly any lie (except deep rough). I can hit it high or low by simply varying the ball position. The normal ball flight for me is higher than my 3-iron and the ball lands softer. When I put it back in my stance I can use it as a "punch-out" club and don't have to worry about stabbing it in the ground and hitting it fat. It is simply a great little club.

I like the club so much that I have recently bought the 17-degree version to replace my 5-wood on tight courses or windy days.

Nickent Genex 3DX 4/23*
First time using a hybrid and I am hooked. Great feel. More confident hitting it than a 3/4 iron. Straight and Long!! Picked it up slightly used for $50, well worth it. Would recommend to anyone thinking about switching.

Without a doubt the best value for money hybrid out there - you can get the steel shafted version for around $100. I got the 2 to replace my 5 wood, and the 3 to replace my 3 iron. Great ball flight and carry, and very workable with a steel shaft. Money well spent.

Nickent without a doubt has developed the best hybrid on the market. I have tried multiple makes including Taylor Made, Cleveland, Ping, Titleist. All of the hybrids I have tried have always been a pull-hook for me. After seeing the success that Nickent has had on tour I couldn't help but buy one. The feel is very solid. The club is actually workable. It is like a blade iron. Very workable. Not very forgiving but if you are a good player you will appreciate the workability and feel. I ordered mine with an Aldila NV stiff shaft. The best hybrid on the market. Did I mention these can be purchased at a fraction of the price of the other leading brands!

Model Reviewed: 3dx 5+ hybrid

This hybrid is the go-to club in my bag. I think it is the weighting that makes it very easy to hit. It is great off the tee, from the fairway, rough, etc. A solid contact will get me around 200 yards with this club. I have tried the longer hybrids (2, 3+, and 3) and to me they were a lot harder to hit, so I would definitely recommend the 5+ club for beginners such as myself. By the way, picked this one up brand new for $70, so it was definitely well worth it.

Why did I not do this a long time ago? This club is outstanding! It goes straight where you aim. Easy to hit off the tee, rough, tight lies, probably from your carpet! A word of advise, when you line it up, the clubface looks like a hook waiting to happen. Do not pay any attention to that, simply aim and swing, it will go long and straight. This club is so sweet I am replacing my woods with Genex hybrids, and at $99.00, I doubt you will find a better, easier to hit club. Definitely replace long irons with these gems, your scores will reflect the change inmediately!

Model Reviewed: 3DX Ironwood 5+ Reg graphite

This is a nice club to have in your bag and is confidence inspiring when needing an accurate straight shot. With the shaft length, reg flex and loft of 24.5 degrees, I squeeze out around 175 yds with this club. It has a 75 gram UST 38.5" shaft length which is like an iron. The sole weighting helps you get the ball up, but not overly high. When I am faced with a difficult narrow approach with water along the side, I'll pull this out rather than an iron since I can still pull my iron shots on occasion. Once you get it dialed into your stance, it delivers a straight medium trajectory shot. It is more forgiving than my 5- iron from 175 yds. Not particularly long, just a more reliable shot, provided you put a good swing on it. Have not tried, but I don't think you can work the ball as it pretty much sends it straight were your aimed at. If I need to work it, I am using an iron anyway. I think any of the hybrids out their can help the average golfer. I boutht this one, because I liked the looks, how it setup for me, and it was $99 bucks. Check out the hybrids as an alternative to an iron. I think the Hogan CFT's and Taylormade hyrbides are a good choice too. Look them over if your in the market to find out what works for you.
