I bought the MP52s with Project X 6.0 shafts after playing the MP30s for years. The MP52s play very similar to the MP30s but are much more forgiving on off-center hits. Purely struck shots with these irons are such a pleasure watch.

My suggestion is to make sure you get fitted by an authorized Mizuno dealer before purchasing these irons. If you can afford to spend the money for the clubs then you can afford the extra $20 for the fitting.

Customer Service

I purchased these clubs through a direct dealer and the factory turn-around was 3 days to get the clubs to the dealer. Two days later I was swinging them on the course.

Superb clubs. I have previously owned Wilson Staff ci6 and I must say that these are much more consistent and the feel is amazing. And even the longer clubs are truly easy to hit for a 20 handicapper like me.

I have been using the MP-52 clubs for about three wks now and wow, what a difference they have made to my game. Previously I was using a set of MD clubs (which suited for a time) that I believed I could hit and hit well. My clubs are custom fitted with a project x 5.5 rifle shaft.

I feel that my accuracy has improved, my striking is now more pure and my overall confidence in my game has increased. The ball flight is fantastic, the feedback is good (you really know when you don’t quite get all of the ball), miss hits are not a devastating as with my old clubs and my ability to shape shots (low, fade and draw) is much improved.

My scores have also reduced and with a little bit more practice I feel a big drop is just around the corner, that is if I can master the mental side of the game!! Overall, I would recommend the MP-52 range.

I purchased these irons about three weeks ago and have played 5 rounds with them. I was playing the Ping i10 irons which I still like. I am not going to tell stories of dramatic changes in my score, still have to hit the driver uggh, but rather my review of the clubs.

First is feel. I have always heard about the feel of forged irons and knew Mizuno to be the best of the best in forged irons. They are buttery smooth when properly struck and you know when you miss one. With that being said unless there is very poor contact the shot still turns out pretty good. Slight loss in distance and trajectory but not bad. I like to feel and see the difference and it will help me get better.

Second is consistancy/accuracy. Again excellent when well hit and better than the i10's. The shaft may have something to do with this as the i10's have the Ping shaft and these the S300. Purely struck off the fairway or out of the light rough the 52's are awesome and a miss is not bad either.

Finally, is the overall feel. What I mean by this is the weight and how the club feels during the swing. These are definately heavy / strong feeling clubs. This is one thing I didn't really care for with the i10's.

I'm not good enough yet to talk about shaping both directions and changing shot trajectory but I know how I like a club to "feel" in all aspects of the shot and I am really enjoying these irons. Forgiving enough for the mid handicapper and player enough for the low handicapper. Highly recommended.

Have always enjoyed the reviews, finally felt compelled to leave one. I have owned just about any iron you can think of in my endless quest to improve my game. I finally got fitted. I went to Blaisdell Performance Golf in Scottsdale and was fit by Gary and Ben Blaisdell. They suggested the MP52 with a reduced head weight and the 5.0 project X shaft all tune matched. Went the whole way and got the Mizuno R-series wedges as well. I cannot say enough about these clubs. I have dropped from a 7 handicap to a 2 handicap in under a month. My shots are consistent, flight is predicatable and feel is unreal. I have become extremely confident in my game for the first time in a long time. I find myself wanting to go out and "tame" every course I can find. If you are looking for clubs that are forgiving, are workable and have that undeniable Mizuno feel, give the MP52's a shot. You will not regret it.

I’m a 6 handicap and have played about 4 rounds with my new Mp-52 irons. I previously played Hogan Apex Pro for about 8 years and loved them. Once the grooves started wearing out on my Hogan’s I decided it was time for a new set. After 2 years of casual looking it was a relief to see Mizuno come out with the 52’s.
I felt the Hogan’s had better feedback but the 52’s do have more forgiveness. Not that the 52’s don’t have any feedback, it is just not as evident as the Hogan’s. All in all it is a good trade off. More importantly the 52’s long irons; 3 thru 5 irons, are much easier to hit.

I have used the MP-33's, MP-32's, and MP-60s and the MP-52 is by now my best scoring iron. I am now a fan. I have 2 rounds with these irons and the ball flight and high launch make me look like I know what I am doing. A bit more forgiving then my previous MP-60s which I still own. going to be tough to outpeform these irons. A good blend of forgiveness and workability with a soft forged feel.

I have recently switched from my Nike Pro Combo OSs to these Mizuno MP-52's with dynamic golf shafts. They are a bit heavier than my old irons, and they are slightly longer, but they provide almost as much forgiveness as a game-improvement iron with much more workability due to lack of offset. I can finally fade my shots, instead of the draw I always used to hit. I actually saw a bit higher launch with these irons than my pro combos, but the trajectory came out much lower when I used 3/4 swings. To be able to control trajectory like that is always a plus. On set-up, the irons look like true player's clubs. They have a clean look to them. Overall, I really love my new irons.

The first time I played with the MP-52, I shot an awesome 78 a score that I haven't played for at least 3 years. The clubs are forgiving enough, with good feedback and provide some extra yards as compared to my previous Callaway X-20. They look very nice at set up and the cavity in the longer irons can be noticed but isn't a big deal as mentioned in other reviews. The trajectory of the ball (rifle project X 5.0 - went for a more flexible shaft) is much more penetrating than with other clubs I have tried and the weight is just perfect (it feels different than true temper shafts.)
I switched to a more players club because I was looking to work the ball (very difficult with improvement clubs, too much offset), the feel of rifle shafts and the looks without sacrificing forgiveness. Finally, I’m most impressed with the trajectory and the feel of these clubs.

Bought the clubs on ebay and was lucky to find a good seller. He described the #3 iron as used, but the entire set was completely new.

I have just switched from TaylorMade TP Forged NSPRO Shaft to Mizuno MP52 Project X shaft. Mizuno Forged is second to none. Wonderful feel with great feedback and the distance is consistent. Hopefully I can break 80 soon!! :-)
