Bought a set of mp52's couple of months ago,5-pw with Nippon reg shafts.First set of blade like irons i have had.For the first few weeks i seriously thought these irons were too good for me. Loved the feel and consistency but struggled with distance. After several sessions at the range though distance improved and i think that hitting these irons has improved my golf swing with all clubs in the bag. In 3 comp rounds i have reduced my handicap(18) by 2 and if not for a poor run with the putter could have shot better scores. These irons feel great, have great consistency with distance and shot dispersion, and the nippon shafts produce a nice high trajectory. Working the ball is easy with them, and they will force you to swing better.Anyone with a sound swing who can middle the ball consistenly would benefit from these irons. Gotta try GFF!!

i recently aquired a set of mp-52 irons after playing cobra s9 irons for 3 years.never thought i could hit a semi-blade style iron but was at the local golf shop and they were selling demos for 5 bucks and i thought what the hell.its just 5 bucks.the first time i hit that 6 iron i was shocked and so was my brother.i havnt hit a 6 iron in about a year(broke my cobra and never bothered to get it reshafted.)anyway i tried finding a left new set at all the local golf shops and it was no dice.ended up buying a used set off ebay(didnt want 2010 grooves)after 2 rounds to get used to the mp's i was shooting in the mid to low 80's.before that with the cobra s9 irons i only broke 90 about once a month.the reason i think is that with game improvement irons such as the cobras.you get so little feedback that when you do hit it bad,you aint sure just what you did.(toed'heel ect)with these mizunos you know beyound any doupt what you did wrong.dont get me wrong i believe that game improvement irons have a place in golf.such as the player that only play 5 or 6 times a year. but to the true lover of the game that playes in just about any weather year round and wants to get better i feel the GII's hold you back.and the mizuno's have a feel on a well struck shot like nothing i have ever felt with a golf club.so dont let the blade like apperiance scare you 20 hcp'ers.these clubs will help you get down to where you want. i was a plus 20 hcp and after 3 months or so with the irons i am a low to mid teens hcp.i never knew i had that game in me till i got some clubs that give me the feedback i need to feel flaws.by the next summer i and hoping to get to the single digets.but i will need to get my driver to behave(another story all together). in closing wish you all nothing but fairways and greens,

I have found these clubs to be excellent in all respects, not the longest but that is not important. Really sweet to hit and the soft touch is excellent with the short irons.

I cannot understand why so many people have given them poor quick reviews. 4.94 on written reviews 3.82 after taking into account quickies. It is beyond me and perhaps somebody can explain The only thing I can think of is that people think they are better players than they are and when Mizuno say the clubs are suitable for low to mid handicappers they mean up to about 12.

Decided I wanted to try some new irons so I went down to my local golf store and tried the Ping i15s, Titleist AP1, Mizuno MP 52s, and Cleveland CG7s. Mizunos felt amazing and reviews I read make them sound great so I picked them up. Ball flight was nice and high and the feel was amazing.

First round with them I was a shot better than my previous on that course. Second round I was a shot better than I ever had been before and the guys I was playing with were commenting on how nice I was hitting my irons. Not long after that I went on a golf trip and on the final day I played a course called Fairview Mountain and shot my all time best 81 with 8 three putts(Maybe I need a Mizuno Putter).

First, i would like to say that I don't write reviews on a product unless it totally sucks or it is really amazing. I just bought the MP 52's on ebay new for $500 regular D300 shaft and standard length. I took the clubs out for an hour before dark today to sneak on my home course and play 3 holes and I will describe my first experience.......

I approached a short 165 yard par 3 and take out my Mizuno MP 52 8-ron. Take a couple practice swings and then line up to the ball. Take my first swing and SMACK! I never felt something so pure in my life. You almost feel every ounce of weight in the clubhead grab the ball and launch it off of the face. The ball shot high, and I mean high up in the air with a nice baby draw, clearing 2 huge bunkers to a tucked elevated pin and it landed softly 3 feet from the hole. I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED! I dropped another ball and swung again just to convince myself it wasn't a fluke and the ball did the same thing and landed 4 feet from the hole. WOW!

My short round of 3 holes were amazing, I had birdie opportunities on each hole, I just missed the putts because I was rushing daylight but every iron, all the way down to the 4 iron (haven't hit the 3 yet) were pure. These are the best clubs I have ever tried, and I've tried a lot.

I am a weekend golfer and have been playing Ping G2's for the past 6 years. The G2's were on and off, I fought pulls and hooks with them many times and my short irons frustrated me. I grew to dislike the huge topline of the club and the extra offset which played a part in my bad shots. I also disliked how the distance was not consistent with the G2's, one minute I hit the 9 iron 150 yds and the next its 140 or 158! With the Mizunos, it's consistent and the shots feel way better.

I just want to let high handicappers know, don't let the blade-like qualities of this club scare you away. They are easy to hit and I think the less offset will help, especially with the shorter irons. Also, as you get better you are going to want to play these clubs, so why waste the money on big, oversized irons? The Mizunos are the best investment I have made in a long time and I can't wait to go out again and see what else I can do with them. I will leave you guys with this, I used to be a big Ping fan ( I still kinda am because I have their G2 Driver haha) but as far as irons go, I will never go with anything other than Mizunos, NEVER!

To start off, I joined this site just to give these irons a review. As (golf) cliche as it sounds, these can be described in one word - "BUTTER!"

I started golfing last year and just recently broke 90 this summer - I picked up the sport quickly and was taught by some of my college golf friends. I was fortunate to have the Titleist AP2's to start golfing from an old roommate - they were great irons with exceptional feel but unfortunately, the long irons were extremely tough for me to play. The 3-6 irons were almost embarassing for me to attempt to hit in public.

I went and got fitted for Mizunos, everyone always raves about how they're "the best" or so "smooth." Well, if you've heard these claims... they're RIGHT! I got fitted about 3 days ago and just picked them up this evening and rushed to the golf course I play at least once a week. My front 9 hole personal record was a 44 - I ran onto the computer after tonight b/c with the MP52's I just shot a 39!!!

These irons are incredible - easy to shape shots, exceptional distance, and amazing feel when you hit it square. The ball literally slides off like... well... BUTTER! The long irons filled the gap that I was lacking with my AP2s and I'm no longer afraid to pull out a long iron. Let's just say... you almost have to try to miss-hit the irons to achieve terrible distance. Even the 3 iron isn't as challenging as most long irons.

I'm more than happy with my purchase! As for how some on here have said these irons are for the low-mid handicapper. I'd honestly say these are almost for anyone, even beginners. It'll teach great ball-striking habits for those who are just starting without lacking the feedback that a more established golfer demands. I'm never going to shoot any irons but Mizunos again... Sorry Titleist! I still love your 909 series though!

If you want consistency, great distance, and incredible feedback, I suggest these irons. Words can't describe them. I can't wait to hit the driving range tomorrow and gawk at the set once again.

Incredible... 3 days after getting fitted to receive my irons!

This is the first time that I ever wrote a review and might be my only time. I feel obligated to return the favor, since the reviews on this website lead me to buy these sweet Mizuno MP-52 irons. They are the best investment that I have ever made.
I have been playing for the past eight years and have been using various models of Adams clubs and the A3OS model was my last set. I have been consistently shooting in the mid-80s and wanted to take my game to the next level. These sweet MP-52s did the job.
I have to admit, I purchased the MP-32 before buying the MP-52 irons. I found that I lost some distance with the MP-32 and was not very consistent with the longer irons (5, 4 and 3 irons). So, I got rid of the MP-32 and decided to go with a more forgiving model. I read a lot of great reviews on the MP-52 and decided to make the purchase. Best investment ever!!!
I’m getting 5-10 yards more distance and these irons are very easy to hit and sweet. They have great feel and very forgiving on the long irons. I have replaced the 3 irons with a hybrid and the scoring irons (8,9 and PW) are dead accurate. The ball flight is high and very penetrating, which allows you to stop easily on the green. I have never been able to work the ball before these irons. I simply read several articles on how to hit a fade or draw and these irons have allowed me to work the ball easily. I can also control trajectory by simply moving the ball positioning in the set up.
These are the best irons that I have ever owned, I will never play with anything else except for Mizuno irons. I have been consistently shooting in the high 70s and once in a while in the low 80s (because of my driver). You won’t be disappointed!

The MP-52 is my 3rd set of Zunos. I began by playing the MX20s and sold them which was regrettable. I have been playing the MP-57s with the Project X for about 2 1/2 years. Great clubs, superb feel. I wanted a little more forgiveness and to launch the ball just a little higher. I have lost a little speed so the project Xs felt stiff towards the end of the round.
I had a Zuno dealer test me with the shaft fitter and it was recomended to go with the s-300 dynalite shaft. I was a little skeptical but had the MP-52 head attached to the shaft and went to work. From the first swing all I wanted to accomplish was done. My ball flight was higher and distance was approx 8-10 yards more. I was not looking for distance so this was a welcome surprise. I thought I would lose some feel from the 57s to the 52s but I could not tell it. The 52s are as sweet and soft as butter. Also, the setup with the 52s is wonderful and there is no loss here.
I have not cut any strokes off my game yet but it is not due to the irons. If you are looking for a "players" set of clubs with superb feel the Mizuno MP52s are the club. I would definitely go with the fitting and test the shafts. Hats off to Mizuno.

If you are a mid-handicapper stuck shooting in the 80's, the Mizuno MP-52 irons are most definitely the best investment you can make.

For the past eight year's I have been playing the Callaway X-14 irons which have served me well however I had reached a point where the game improvement qualities of the cast irons were not adding any further value to my game.

Distance control, feel and the standard specifications of the X-14's were lacking.

For my new set of irons, I knew I had to go for a forged set due to the incredible enhancement in feel, however I was timid at first due to reviews of the difficulty in hitting forged clubs.

With extensive research, I had narrowed down my choice of irons to the Titleist AP2's, the Mizuno MP-62 and MP-52 however after testing, the MP-52's won hands-down for the incredible feel and forgivness especially in the long irons.

The MP-52's dual-cut cavity in the 3-7 iron's noticeably makes off center hits less punishing while the muscle back design in the 8-PW provides superb feel and precision in the "scoring" clubs.

If you are considering Mizuno iron's, ensure that you ask your golf retailer to fit you with Mizuno's iron fitting system. They have an excellent shaft fitting program that will recommend 3 shafts suitable to your swing.

If you are a golfer with a smooth tempo and have a Driver swing speed of 95-100mph, I highly recommend the Nippon NS950Pro shaft in stiff flex. The shaft feedback is fantastic and the lightweight of 95 grams is perfect for the moderate swing speed.

Customer Service

In regards to customer service from Golfsmith in the USA, I would NOT recommend it.
I highly suggest finding a smaller golf retailer who will provide a more comprehensive fitting service and take more time to ensure 100% fit of your equipment.

Don't buy into the hype of the bigger brands with bigger marketing budget's such Titleist and the AP series.
For the best forged irons in the business, it is most definitely Mizuno by miles.

Mizuno Magic ? Answer yes................
Anyone who reviews golf gear regularly through informative sites such as this will be aware of the quality perception Mizuno Irons have earned over time.
The MP series of irons have historically been aimed at the accomplished player. The new to golf player and those who play infrequently have been well catered for historically through the MX series of irons mx 15,20,23,25 etc.. The MP 52,s have really hit the mark in enabling the transition from mid-high handicap (16 -24) to that of mid to lower 10 - 16)The technology introduced through the dual cut cavity really do provide that lower centre of gravity which enables the ball to fly on a really nice Mid to High trajectory which helps provide that Drop and Stop effect on greens that really start to improve scoring potential. I have used most of the mizuno irons range as you will see from similar products used detail. For those of you who currently use or have used Mizuno,s here is my feedback. The MP 52,s have a very similar feel to the MX 23 (Excellent) have a slightly smaller head design similar to that of the Comp EZ forged series (again a great iron). The lofts are 1 degree weaker than that of MX 23,s that do provide that that drop and stop feel from 8 iron onwards. This would suggest that you may not get the same distance.I personally have not found this.My view is that the design of dual cut cavity in the 3 to 7 iron and the full muscle back in the 8-PW do compliment the loft increments very well. The irons feel beautifully swing weighted and provide a nice tempo through the shot. They really are the most forgiving MP iron ever! i have used MP 32 and MP 30 in the past and i did stuggle with consistency (not the clubs!).These MP 52,s really give me the confidence and feel of the MX 23 (which in my opinion were much better than the later Mx 25) with the looks and appeal of the MP irons.Of course you will notice if you have hit out of the toe or thinned it etc..Its called feedback! but they are genuinely a superb feeling club with much more forgiveness than you would imagine..I have put i shoot in the 80,s but have had rounds ranging from 78 to 91 but typically average 83/84 off a 12 handicap.I really do believe my handicap will reduce again in the spring.I went to Mizuno Fitting centre at New Malden.Very worthwhile indeed.I previously used regular exsar graphite shaft in MX 23,But now use the Nippon steel NS Pro 950 GH regular. If anything i have gained around 7yds over the MX 23,s i hit 6 iron 165yds and PW 125yds no overly wild claims just honest feedback..Hopes this helps!! and happy golfing

Customer Service

Excellent with Email queries and the fitting process which i have experienced at two different locations over a 5 year period have been superb.
