I want to buy a new set of irons, but when I take my Mizuno MP33s into the major golf outlets to test against the newer models, they all come up short. The MP33s are perfectly balanced and nothing can compare to their feel. I can shape the ball, or hit it dead on the flag. I want to play a Titleist because my father did, but nothing I've tried can compare to the MP33.

OK, I'm got some crow to eat. Recently, I posted on another club and I stated basically that, while I liked the feel of forged clubs, I didn't see any real advantage to them over game improvement clubs. Fast forward; I purchased a used set of MP-33s with TTDG Reg flex, sensicores. WOW, I couldn't believe the feel. Now I know your saying, he's just a 90s shooter, so what does he know. Well, my high scores are due to other things besides my iron play. I have a fairly consistant swing.
At any rate, I tested these clubs against several of the top "game-improvement" clubs and have found them to be a much more consistant club. Club after club and test after test, I keep coming back to the 33s. Unlike others on this forum, I haven't lost any distance. Furthermore, I've noted that if I hit the ball on the toe, it doesn't matter what club I have, I lose about the same distance. I guess I really don't understand what "game improvement" really means. I'm beginning to think that it's all been a big lie that's been perpetrated by golf club manufacterers, in an attempt to make more money.

These clubs are accurate and are very consistant. High handicapers, if you have a decent swing, give these clubs a try.

My accountant, who also is a golfer with a plus 2 to 5 handicap stood up the other day and pointed from the top of his head to to ground and stated, "game improvement is from here (top of his head) to here (the ground). I've come to realize that he's right.

Lastly, I've read about the large number of pros that are playing game improvement clubs, thereby indicating I should be doing the same, but I want you to think about it a moment. With the exteme growth in the interest in golf, the largest market for clubs is mid to high handicappers. Golf club manufacturers need to sell more "game improvement clubs." As we all know, they're much cheaper to produce than forged clubs. At any rate, don't you suspect that they can flash around enough money for their pros to play the club they want them to?

Long story short, I think these clubs hit as good as anything I've ever hit. I've got a set of MP-32s, and while they hit very well, I don't know if I could honestly say that they hit better than the 33s. Mizuno MP-33s are cheap now, buy them and you'll be glad.

OH MY GOD! I never knew that a golf club could make such a difference. I went from old cavity backs to Mizuno's MP-32's and thought to myself, nice...but somehow they just didn't feel all that impressive. Then I saw a set of used 3-PW MP-33's on E-bay, +1 1/4", +2 degrees upright, Dynalite Gold X100, owned my a PGA pro, fantastic shape. Perfect for my 6' 3" frame and I got them at a steal for $160. Hitting these clubs off the grass at the range is just unbelievable! It's like the difference between a cheap set of Ginsu knives and hand forged Masamoto Honyaki knives. Pure butter off the face and would someone please explain to me why I can hit these clubs better then the MP-32's? Especially the 3 and 4 iron! To say these are the best clubs I have ever hit in my life is an understatement. I absolutely love the thin topline and the way they look at address next to the ball. Talk about confidence. Maybe that's it, the confidence factor. I am in awe and have already made arrangements to purchase a second set. I will never use any other set of irons...period.

As far as quality goes they are top notch blades...just expect losing approx. 10 yards and a little higher ball flight, but as far as ball control and feel they are the best.

Great irons if you're really on your game. I wouldn't sujest these if you dont shoot consistently in the low 80's or high 70's. seems hard to controll distance because of the lack of forgiveness. great for working the ball but good luck trying to flush a 3 iron when you're not feeling confident

These are simply the best irons ever made. You will improve while playing them and the feedback is unmatched. Anything Mizuno is top-notch, and these stand out as their best product ever offered. It is not by accident that their MP-100 anniversary irons are MP-33s. They are a bit short in comparison to other irons due to the slighty weaker lofts.

I have played DCI's for years and wanted to try "the best iron ever made" for myself. Well, I can tell you that if your a decent ball striker these will be amazing for you. The 7-PW are just fantastic, you can really dial those in and move the ball however you want. The long irons can be penal if your not on your game but I have replaced my 3 and 4 irons with hybrids to make what I believe is the perfect set. The balance and feel overall produce confidence, and club is so perfectly designed that it makes shots from the rough not that bad at all. They are a dramatic upgrade for me in that department, I feel I can control it from anywhere. Got them cheap on eBay, these will be with me a long time

After playing with MP-14s for the past 4 years I bought a cherry set of 33s off ebay. They came with 5.5 rifles which should be too flexible for me, but they seem to work great. I've played many irons (three blade sets)and these are the best I've hit. Ball flight is high and the ball stops on a dime. I actually hit these further then the 14s which had DGS300 shafts. I don't know if it's the club or the shaft but I gained a solid club lenghth over the 14s. My 5 iron is right around 210-215 with these. I find working the ball is easier with these and I love the look at address, however not much different then the 14s. The largest diffence I've seen besides distance would be the softness at impact. A perfect shot feels just that, PERFECT. After 20 years of golf I can't imagine ever playing a different iron. I am a good ball striker and most my poor scores come from a lost drive or poor short game. A good day is high 70s! For those of you that say that higher handicappers have no idea what feel is or should not play these clubs you're just being arrogant. I don't score low 70s but I can pure a 3 iron 250 pretty consitantly and these irons feel the best doing it. I believe these to be an upgrade to any iron set!!!

I played the Titleist DCI irons for years and really loved them. My game however called for a club that I could control the ball flight a little more. I went through many "blade" demos Titleist, Hogan's, Nike's etc...and ended up buying the MP-33's. I put 6.5 rifle shafts in them and turned them up 1 degree. In the past 4 years I went from a 4 hcp to a +0.5 and have 2 club championships under my belt. I do not think my game would have risen to the level it is now if it weren't for these irons. The MP-33's have a very comfortable feel and weight with the ability to work the ball at will. If you have a consistent swing and need a club that will let you control the ball flight when needed these are the irons for you... Have them professionally fitted with shafts and have the lie adjusted because most people are not “stock club” players.
