I have been playing the Armour v-31's for a couple of years. They play fine, but I sort of got it in my mind that I want to play Nike's blades. I admit it...Duval and Woods play them, then I want to play them too. I went to the golf store and proceeded to convince myself that I am going to just love the Nike Blades. I am going to love the way they feel and the way they hit. I didn't. I sacrificed 10-20 yards per iron and the light swing weight made me feel like I had to step out of my shoes to swing at them. I took them back and said...what else? The guy at the golf shop says...if you want to try a forged iron, why not try the BEST forged iron. I said...sure... He gave me a 3,5,7 iron with S-300 shafts and I went to the simulator. I was quite pleased with the swing weight and the feel at impact. The mizuno forging process is said to be the best. This club had a soft positive feel at impact, the trajectory was a little lower than I was used to, but the distance was a tad longer too. I found the ball flight less likely to be drastically hooking or slicing, but almost a slight draw for me with a normal swing and the possibility of hitting a cut or a burner without alot of fiddling around. They sold me...I have played four rounds on these clubs. I have found more confidence in long iron shots (accuracy speaking) and have a good feel for what the shot is going to look like before I swing. I havn't had that before. This is definately a club for someone that hits the sweet spot a high percentage of the time. A little side note: When I asked the rep what should I expect from a smaller sweet spot, he said, the object of swinging any club is to hit the face square and centre. It doesn't matter how big the club is if you can't hit it sweet more often than not. I got the point. Similar Products Used: Nike Blades, Titleist 690MB |

as my index finally had the little + put in front of it(+7.7 index), i knew that what i need to continue up the ladder of sucess were some irons that listen. enter the mp-33s. by far these are the best irons i have ever, ever played. draws, fades, cuts, burners, whatever i need comes easy off the beautiful forged face. despite the bad rap on feel that muscleback irons get, the mp-33's have amazing feel- unless mis-hit, as i found out the hard way. and for those who get a kick out of hitting your irons a mlie, distance is good. i strongly recommend these to low handicapped/scratch or better players who want to get even better. Customer Service The folks at mizuno took far too long, but the finishing product was worthwhile. |

Let me start off by saying this. I have allways been told that I should play cavity backs, I should play regular steel shafts, and that I should have my lies 2 degrees upright. Okay. Fine. I am an okay to decent ballstriker, but I know that is a problem so I wanted to do something about it. I have hit every iron made in 2002. I liked some, others I didn't. I then ran into the 33's. And as we all know I got the standard line "these are for scratch golfers,..." BLAH..BLAH..BLAH. I then put in a call to Mizuno and asked JAMES (customer service) a few questions regarding if I could play these or not, he was great, telling me stiff shaft is a better option because it will have a tighter dispersion, although I may lose a few yards, but I could deal with straight over right and or left and longer. James made some other great suggestions and away I went. I have been to the range about 4-5 times with them, and I can honestly say that they are the best feeling irons I have hit. Are they as forgiving as cavity backs, probabaly not. BUT, I certainly concentrate alot more with these than any other irons. They are VERY close to distances I am used to as well. I look it like this...if I miss hit a cavity-back iron, the shot is not good, if I miss hit a blade, the shot is not good. Maybe you lose 10% more in distance, but you will know what you did ASAP. Great overall iron. Great looks. Great playability. I only want improve, so playing BIG CAVITY back clubs will have to wait until I am about 65 or so! Customer Service Great. Great clubs!! Excellent control and feel. Very very accurate. Wonderful for sticking balls just where you want to. Advice: Buy the 2 iron!! Distance is sacrificed only because the clubs have higher lofts than a lot of "cavity backs". The companies make cavity backed clubs with lower lofts so you think that you are actually hitting further with their clubs than others. My 3 iron is equivalent to many other 4 irons. Who cares as long as you can put the ball where you supposed to. Doesnt matter what number you hit as long as you get there in 2 strokes right? They dont ask you how, they ask you how many! Let me just say that I cant stand people who say that blades should be played by low handicap golfers. Old wives tale and myth. Blades should be played by people who want to improve because they have to hit the ball more accurately. Game improvement clubs (Cavity Backs) just mask your imperfections in your swing, they dont actually help you play better. Im done ranting. Customer Service Never had the pleasure. First of all let me say I am probably one of the people that everyone says should not play this club. I have been playing for about 2 yrs and am probably not worthy of these irons, but I absolutely LOVE them. My first set were northwestern blades that were yard sale bought, then I got my fathers ping i2's and my game started to improve but they were R flex and I became to strong for them quickly. When I decided to buy a new set I just sucked it up and went all out. I consider myself to be a player, don't always execute the shot that I plan to, but I make consistent contact and can work the ball some and these clubs compliment that effort. Golf for me is about fun, sure I might shoot better with a game improvement iron but these clubs are way fun and I say if you got the $$$ get them. They don't make you better overnight of course, but hey what does. Besides they remind me of my Northwesterns... Its simple hit em good and they feel good, hit em bad, well you can guess. My advice is play whatever irons you prefer cause its a personal kind of thing and its probably not your job so enjoy yourself. But it you do decide to get them and give them a fair try you won't be dissapionted. Keep it in the short grass... Shameless plug... If your ever in Alabama check out the Trent Jones Golf Trail, its awesome golf... Customer Service didn't use Similar Products Used: Cheapo blades, pings |

I was a little reluctant to buy blades after everything I've heard, but after occasionally "borrowing" a friend's MP-14's now and again, I mustered the confidence to give them a try. It was the best decision I've made all year. Ignore any relationship people try to make between blades and handicap. Since switching to the MP-33's my irons have been the best part of my game. It took a little ego-check at first to realize that I've lost a little distance on a club-by-club basis. The tremendous upside is that my distances are so consistent and evenly spaced that I'm actually hitting greens and sticking with the 3 and 2 irons (yes, I had to buy the 2 as well - much more accurate than my 5-wood). Now that I've had them a few months, I find my distance is slowly increasing just a bit. I can't begin to describe how sweet it feels to play these clubs. The feedback in my opinion is much better for actually improving my game than any so-called "game improvement" clubs. I appreciate that the clubs require better discipline, focus, more practice, etc. What's so bad about that? Every other aspect of my game has improved because of the process that these clubs has started within my game. I now feel like I have the tools and the desire to get better. I would recommend these clubs to anyone who is serious about taking the time to improve their game, and wants to "do it right" in terms of developing a consistent and correct swing. Folks I would suggest avoid these clubs are people with only moderate-to-slow swing speeds (nothing wrong with that, this just isn't the club for you), or people who only play an occasional round and don't want to put in the time or the work effort to improve their game. But if that's you, then you're probably not reading this review anyway. Customer Service N/A - haven't had the need. Similar Products Used: Orlimar Tri-metal irons, Mizuno MP-14 |

I was a little skeptical about buying this set because of the notion about blades being only for scratch or really good golfers, but it was a really good deal and I wanted to improve my approach shots as it was the weakest part of my game. Well the first time out on the driving range I knew I had found my clubs for life - every shot except two in the bucket was right on the money. These are so silky smooth and accurate and fit my swing like a glove. I've played two rounds with these and found the same results and for my first time broke into the 80s. Now I can attack the green with more confidence, but found these to be a little longer (1-1.5 clubs) than my old clubs so I will need to adjust my club selection. The downside is that if you do badly hit the ball, it will really go off target or lose distance - much more so than a cavity back. This hasn't happen too often as the club has improved both my consistency and distance. For those that are looking for great irons, don't let these "blades" scare you. Give them a try, they may be for you too. Customer Service Bought them used so haven't had a chance to use. |

the look of these clubs at set up is simply perfect. The larger head is confidence inspiring as you move down the set. they are not to heavy in the head which makes them excellent for distance control. The lofts are weak. maybe even +1 or 2 degrees weeker than stated, but consistent through the whole set. This is actually an advantage because your PW is really a PW and not a nine iron etc, and the long irons fligh on a perfect trajectory, not too low, be prepared to hit some long iron shots you never dreamed possible. the feel is when you strike them is better than anything out there. These are the perfect clubs for an aspiring low handicaper and those who love the game. A word about wedges, if you have a set of MP-33's look no further than mizuno for these also, they have a more compact head than the vokeys and 588's, and i am positive the overall workmanship is of a higher standard at mizuno. A word of advice, don't mess with the lofts on the irons. strengtening them even by 2 degrees has a noticable effect on the bounce, which can cause problems. and avoid hitting hundreds of balls off matts. Over the course of a year or so the lofts and lies can get messed up. if your trying to correct a swing floor down the range do it with an old club. Got a set of MP-33's with Dynamic Gold X100 shafts, 1/2" over standard, 3 degrees up. Great irons. Yes, they look great, but they play great as well. A bit more traditional in terms of lofts, so as expected, 5-10 yds shorter than the old cavity backs, but you've gotta love it when your playing partners pull out their six iron bricks and miss the green, and you stick a 175 yd par three with a 5 iron - as if the club you're hitting matters if you can stick it to five feet... Off-center hits not as unforgiving as many say (some loss of distance and less trajectory). Always hit the practice range before a round. With cast cavity backs, you might hit it well on the range and then screw it all up on the course - it is impossible to tell if the swing is in synch; with the MP-33's, you hit as many balls as necessary to feel the groove, and then the confidence is there to reproduce that feeling on the course. I recommend anyone from the low 90's on down play this club - expect some bad shots, but also expect to learn from then - unlike the cavity backs.... Customer Service Got custom clubs in one week.
