Great, GREAT clubs. First of all, the price I paid is an aberation. My friend is a PGA club pro and had a killer deal for me, customization included. (For what it is worth, you are cheating yourself if you do not have some customizing performed, especially in the lie). I have had these clubs for about 3/4 a year now. Prior to that, I had some old Pinseekers. My game was in the low to mid 80's and I needed some new clubs. I lucked into this deal, and got fitted late last year. At first, I really struggled, not becasue there was a problem with my clubs, it was the golfer! My swing was wrong due to using incorrect clubs for so long(for my swing). That said, once I got used to them, wow. First of all, when you hit them correctly, they just sing. I have gained about 5-10 yards per club while increasing accuracy. Also, when you make a mistake, they are more forgiving then I expected. I hit off the toe the other day, and still got adequete distance and little accuracy loss. They feel just awesome when you hit them right, and if you can learn how to control the ball, they allow you to do so better than any club I have used. I am now able to draw or fade the ball pretty consistantly, as well as adjust for loft/wind. I would recommend these clubs for anyone, specifically for mid handicappers. I lost about 4-5 strokes over the year and am now playing in the upper 70's pretty consistantly. In all fairness, much of that should be attributed to the custom fitting, but the clubs have made a huge difference, especially off the tee in par 3's or short/wierd 4's and 5's where an iron is called for. If you are in the market for new clubs and you are able to pick these up, you will not be dissapointed. Customer Service Top notch, best in the business. I love these clubs. I like the steel shaft for the added weight. Im looking to buy the driving 1 iron to complete the set. I wish i could hit my driver the way i hit these irons. I played a 196 Yard par 3 last week and crushed the ball over the green into a back sandtrap with my 6 IRON!!! My friends couldnt believe it when they saw the ball! These are great clubs and i would recommend them to anyone. |

I play on a high school golf team and had the Compez's for a whole season.Great clubs for the mid-to low handicapper.Shots are not too low or high.Compared to my old DCI 981's, the distances were about a club less. Sweet spot hits give you the feel only forged can feel, like butter. Offset may hurt people who already draw the ball, though. One problem with all Mizuno clubs, they wear out too damn fast. Had mine for 2 months and they looked worse than my dad's big bertha's (he's had them for 6 years) The short irons are pure money.I remember my first shot with an 8 iron.I put it to within a foot from 150 out. You better get them while you can because mizuno has come out with the MX-11 and 20's. I am now using the 2002 big bertha's. You cannot hit a bad shot with them. I hit the 8 iron 170.Forget your ego, try the bertha's. Customer Service Excellent.Broke a 5 iron after getting pissed over a bad shot, Mizuno didn't care what the excuse was, gave me a brand new club in 5 days. That's why their number 1 on the tour. After reading all the reviews on these clubs, i decided to give them a try, also considering I wanted a forged club that i can have adjusted to my swing. It did take several sessions at the range, but the biggest improvement came when i went and had the lie angles adjusted to a +1 upright to fit my swing, Now i truly understand all the Hype Similar Products Used: none |

Mizuno Comp EZ - TT Dynalite Gold R300 steel shaft
For reference: Average score=90. Height = 5'7". Weight = 160lbs. Had the clubs for about 2 months, and had some adjustment pains, but absolutely LOVE them. My previous irons were Top Flite Tour Oversize with firm graphite shafts. Good clubs. But as I began approaching bogey game, I began wanting more from the game than just lowering the score. I wanted more viceral pleasure in hitting the clubs. Checked Ping i3 & Callaway X14 for upgrading. Those are fine clubs. So forgiving. But those "extreme game-improvement" were NOT much upgrade in terms of "feel" from the Top Flites. Sure they felt better, but it only meant you fealt "nothing" when hit on sweetspot. Most people think "no feel" is great, but I disagree. My original interest in CompEZ was due to it's looks. I loved the very metallic finish & design that looked aggresive yet classy, and of high craftmanship. Purchased the clubs for $300 from the net. Initially, I strugged. These clubs were heavy. I was used to light graphite shafted irons. I had a flaw in my swing where I used my wrists too much to generate speed at the top of the swing. After a few painful rounds of many shanked shots, I began to develop a more smooth swing that used my entire body in a more balanced way. I have a better swing now. Distance was initially reduced by half-club-length, but now it's right back to where it was, if not slightly longer. Score-wise, I dropped about 2 or 3 strokes. One shouldn't expect 10 shot drop from switching clubs. You can't buy a golf game... BUT the true gain for me has been in the long-term gain of developing a more proper swing, and the incredible viceral pleasure in hitting these clubs! All that hype of forged clubs was not a lie! It takes time to develop the sensitivity to feel & know what you're feeling, but it truly makes a difference. Flush shots with these clubs feel GOOD, not "nothing" like the other premium game-improvement clubs. I can't say enough good things about these clubs. They are NOT for everyone. They should be used by people who aren't interested just the results, but enjoy the process; those who have a more long-term view of improving and enjoying golf. The former category people should buy X14s and i3s instead. But if you fall into the latter category, look for these clubs, or the new MX-20s that replaced the CompEZs. Your golf game will thank you. Customer Service Emailed Mizuno support a question of lie adjustment, and got reply in about 3 days. Similar Products Used: TopFlite Tour Oversize; King Cobra II; Callaway X14; Ping i3 |

I know it says shoots in the (0s at the top. but i don't know how long that's gonna last. Just bought these clubs for an amazing price, based of these reviews. First full round with these babies I shot an 85 with quadruple bogie on the last. My previous best was a 91. If that's not a testimony to the performance of these irons I don't know what is. The feel on a good shot is amazing (super smooth), even miss hits don't kill you with these forged irons, you feel where you made impact, but aren't punisged to severely unless you put a really bad swing on it. Bottom line, buy these irons while you can still find them. Lots of good closeout deals out there. If your looking for an edge to break a score barrier these will do the trick. I was in the market for some new clubs when I came across all the raving reviews on this web site. I decided I better check these out for myself. I was first interested in the Armour 845 EVO's and the Hogan Apex Edge. However, neither of those had the feel of the Comp EZ. I consistently hit the ball 10-20 yards further then any other club I tried that day. It was unbelievable. I highly recommend trying these clubs out if you're in the market for new ones. I really do not recommend these clubs. I have played Apex blades for 20 years before I purchased these clubs - the blades have a better feel on both good and bad shots. I don't see any advantage to playing these clubs, since I don't feel they are any more forgiving. I have been disappointed. |

Had heard so much about forged irons, but had never hit them until recently. The sweet senation of smacking one just right is phenomenal. Had tried a number of irons-mizunos, cleveland, hogans looking for a set to replace my isi-s. Blades were just too much for me--just not enough consistency to give me confidence on the course. Decided on the comp ez's because they had that forged feeling, could compensate for my bad swings, and you just couldn't beat the price. Picked up a barely (9.9/10) set with stiff dynalite shafts on ebay for 300 bucks, just about half what I would've paid for current model irons. They have opened up a whole new world of being able to work the ball easily compared to the isi-s. Not only that I have lost minimal distace (about half a club) throughout the set, although the long irons (3-5) are longer. The greatest benefit comes from the feel and feedback. I can tell where on the face I hit the ball and can tell my good swings from my bad swings. In contrast, almost everything with the isi-s felt the same. This has greatly improved my swing and consistency--I'm even thinking about retrying blades! Get them while there are still some sets around. Customer Service Never needed. I have only been playing for a little over a year, although I''m in my late 40''s (got a late start!). My main clubs have been Mizuno T-Zoid Sure''s (which are very nice irons themselves), but I''ve been lusting for a set of the EZ''s, ever since I hit a set indoors at a Nevada Bob''s. Nothing like the feel of a forged club. Anyway, got this set off Ebay: been played ONE round, and didn''t suit the guy, so I got essentially a new set for less than half retail - with TT Dynamic Gold Sensicore shafts, to boot! Played them for the first time yesterday... and shot the lowest round I''ve shot to date - and in EXTREMELY windy conditions. Was it the clubs? Don''t know, but it could''ve been. They don''t seem to be as forgiving as the Sure''s, and when you mis-hit, the club definitely lets you know about it. But when you make good contact... it''s like silk - there''s no feeling quite as sweet. And it seemed to me that the short irons were more accurate than my Sure''s - or maybe I was just hitting them better yesterday - who knows. But when you hit them well, they definitely inspire confidence. The long irons, I didn''t hit particularly well, but that is because of my inconsistent stroke - not the clubs themselves. Haven''t hit them enough to know if they are longer than the Sure''s, or about the same; although they seemed a little stronger to me. It was tough to tell, because I was having to club up, to compensate for hitting into the wind most of the day. In any case, so far I''m very pleased with my purchase. They are a little more demanding than the Sure''s or some other larger cavity backs that I''ve hit, but I believe that will cause me to concentrate on developing a more consistent stroke, and consequently improve my game. I don''t know if they are necessarily for everyone, but I know I won''t be buying another set of clubs for quite awhile. I can''t wait to get out and hit them again!! Customer Service Don''t know.
