None These irons combine a classic look, the most attractive cavity back around, with game improvement features. Deep cavities, wide soles and a relatively thick top line inspire confidence. But they don''t look or feel clunky because of the attractive design. Perhaps, the best feature of this set is how easy it is to hit the long irons. When is the last time you felt confidence with a 3-iron in your hand? This is a great set for the mid to high handicapper who wants a traditional looking club. McGregor should stick with this model. And they''re priced right. You can find them for $299 or less. That''s a lot of club for the money. Customer Service very good and responsive Similar Products Used: Top-flite tour oversize |

None Got these clubs this spring. One of my golf buddys had a set he bought used that he raved about(and kicked my butt with).I always loved their classic look. I just so happened to find a lefthanded set that were nearly new. Traded for them with some old golf equipment I wasn''''t using. Well, the rest is history. I''''ve shot in the 70''''s 4 times this year. My previous best with other clubs was 82. Needless to say I am thoroughly pleased with my MT''''s. The guys on the weekends don''''t feel the same way since they can''''t take my money like they used to. These clubs were made for me. Don''''t think I''''ll be looking elsewhere for game enhancement. Customer Service no need to use it Similar Products Used: ping eye 2 goldwin avdp tommy armour 845 hogan radial blades |

None I have furtunatley found a sweet set of replacement irons. I started the year with a set of Tommy Armour 855 silverscots which worked great for me but an unfortunate batch of epoxy resulted in my having to return that set for a replacement after 5 rounds. Even greater sadness prevailed when I was unable to get another set of 855''s as none were left. The saga continued as I was given the opportunity to replace them with a set of Mizuno T Zoid Sures. Nothing against the Mizunos but I could do absolutely nothign with them and my game was in a total slump for half of the summer. I just could not make the adjustment to the Mizunos and decided I needed a replacement fast. After careful reasearch via Golf Clubtest 2001 reviews, reviews on here and demos I decided to give the Macgregors a shot. I got a teriffic deal on the set thru wholesalegolfequipment.com Well I was absolutely happy with with this choice! The clubs are just beautiful. The quality and attention to detail are evident in both packaging and the end product. There was even a handwritten card by the club builder stating exact specs for this set of irons. After a few trips to the range I knew I found a wonderful set of irons. This is my 3rd year of golf now and my game has become much more consistant. My swing is decent but not perfect. It didnt seem to matter with these irons though because all I had to do was just make even halfway solid contact and the ball just launched off these clubs. Good clean contact obviously resulted in arrow straight ball flight, high trejectory with short irons, more boring trejectory with long irons nothing funny at all no surprises whatsoever. If I missed the target it was solely due to my alignment. My confidence level soared just like the ball did of the 9 iron. I had no problem dropping balls onto the green from 125 yds out. It was wonderful! I highly recommend these irons to the high and mid handicappers out there looking for a nice set of irons at a great price. None Wow. I know Macgregor has suffered over the last 5-10 years with poorly designed, ugly clubs - but they are on the comeback trail under their new leadership. I recently purchased the Tourney MT Tungsten model online for $230 US (about $400 CDN). Because Macgregor has been so discredited in the past while, I was able to take advantage of super low pricing. I encourage anyone else out there to take advantage of the low pricing on the PCB (not Tour), MT, and Tungsten models; all of which have classy looks and excellent feel. Now on to the club. Upon opening the box to any set of Macgregor clubs, you will find a detailed card filled out by the person who assembled your clubs, telling you the exact specs. Quality is immediately apparent - The Golf Pride tour velvet wrap grips and True Temper Extralite shafts are both excellent choices for an iron set at this pricepoint. The head of the club is a beautiful chrome (don''t be fooled by some pictures which make it appear almost gold in colour - this is due to the lighting macgregor used for the pictures... the head is actually a beautiful chrome silver). The thick topline is confidence inspiring, but a little bit too thick for my liking. Swingweight is almost perfectly balanced (thanks to a smart grip and shaft choice by Macgregor). The tungsten inserts do serve their purpose to a degree, but are really more for marketing than anything else. The clubs are made from super hard steel, the same steel as taylor made supersteels. I find them to have a similar feel to the TMs, although a little longer and a little more forgiving. All-in-all, these clubs are incredible. Beautiful classic looks, yet modern technology makes them more than capable. Highly recommded. Customer Service Have not had to experience their customer service yet. Very few clubs get bad reviews, and these get allmost universal praise. I don't get it though. These clubs really are quite clunky and that sweet forged feel they talk about isn't there. The short irons have strong lofts and are longer than my old clubs, but when I get to the seven and longer I start to lose distance. For game improvment features you pay a price in feel and playability, and if thats what you are looking for maybe these are your clubs. MacGregor makes so many other fine products though, that I think you could do better. I bought them a year ago because of the great reviews, but they mostly sit in my garage. Every couple of months I take them out for another spin, but they just don't measure up. Customer Service Very good customer service. Well go the extra mile to keep you satisfied. Great clubs. Tried many other clubs at time of purchase (Christmas 1999), but none had same great value. They are a little head heavy, which I like. Helps encourage a good tempo and adds to solid feel. Look great at set-up and thick top line adds to confidence, but by no means are these clubs for beginners only. Overall great value and performance. Recomend trying to find set because they only make a tungestun version now. Similar Products Used: None |

I've had these MacGregor MT Tourney for about a year now, and have loved everything about them. But, as things go now and then you want to look at something else, so i had a little clubtest of my own, with the MacGregor MT vs. Hogan Apex Plus, Titleist 990, Ping I3 Blade. Guess who won? The Macs are clearly a better golfclub than any of the contenders..it just does everything extremely well. The feel of this iron is alive, when club meets ball flush its a wonderful soft, exciting feeling. You know the ball is going a long way. The MT has the forgiveness of the I3, but without the dead feel...the MT has the soft sweet feeling of the Hogan, and actually feels more responsive with better feedback....and the MT has ease of workability like the 990, low, high, right, left it does it all but with better forgiveness when you need it. It just does everything incredibly well. This is most likely one of the best designs MacGregor has ever produced, and a definite sleeper in the golf world. If you are in the market at all for an new players cavity back, give these a look....you'll be more than pleasantly surprised. Customer Service Good people..answer all questions promptly, and sent me a bag of goodies when i sent them a note about the irons. I fell in love with the look and feel of these Irons, went out and played in the Pro-Am and our team won! It has taken me a while to get the feel of the irons but now I am shooting well and hopefully will be able to learn to shape my shots too. These clubs feel alive in my hands compared to my old set of XPC's...never knew that feeling before!!Very good value for money and have had numerous good comments from various Pro's with regards to the Irons. Customer Service None whatsoever Similar Products Used: Custom set of XPC offset clubs |
