KZG Forged Cavity Irons

KZG Forged Cavity Irons

DESCRIPTION

From KZG: "Created with the serious player in mind, these cavity back forgings deliver. The weight distribution is positioned lower on the face to enhance accuracy on the common mis-hit of the better player, which is typically lower on the face. These clubs are forged from S25C carbon steel with a “softer” topline and a slightly longer heel-to-toe length to combine increased playability with that unmistakable forged club head feel. Available now in a beautiful satin finish. In January will aso be available in high polish nickle plating."

These irons instill confidence. My set has Rifle 4.5 shafts tipped 1". The long irons seem to be longer than ususal, but that doesn't seem to matter much after hitting a few greens from 170-190 out. The 7 iron and up have a very traditional look. I have the brushed satin finish, and it holds up wonderfully compared to other forgings I have used. I don't see these coming out of my bag for quite a while... or maybe until I get to try the KZG Forged Cavity Back II.

Customer Service

The folks at KZG are great. I once had a KZG driver that got a crack, and they replaced it very quickly, and ensured the new drivers specs matched the damaged one I returned.

I purchased these clubs for more workability compared to my previous set of oversized cavity-backs. The investment has paid off, and pins in the back right no longer frighten my typical draw shot. If there is no trouble in front, I will fade it in there with a lot of confidence. The biggest boost for me is that I am making contact in the sweetspot more often than with my previous set. Despite the fact that my previous set was supposed to be more forgiving, I did not strike them as well as the KZG's. The additional benefit is that my distances have become much more precise, and GIR's have increased by just over one, and my handicap has dropped by a stroke.

Finally, I have been able to adjust shot trajectory very easily. In the past, my shots tended to be relatively high and would get knocked around by the wind. Now, hitting low shots is fairly easy, and I have been satisfied with my results in reaching a back pin on a two-tiered green with a running approach to the front, a shot that proved difficult in the past.

Couple this playability with the club's thin topline and satin finish and you have an attractive iron that delivers the results I sought.

Customer Service

Their customer service has been excellent from the start. I spoke with Matt at KZG several times prior to making my decision on new clubs, and I am verys satisfied with the guidance provided on club and shaft selection, as well as product care.

These irons look really long at first. They are very well made with a thin topline, and little to no offset, which makes them very easy to aim. They are very forgiving on off center shots. The forged head combined with rifle shafts gives them a nice soft feel at impact. It will be very hard to get them out of my bag.

Without a doubt the best feeling, best looking iron set I have ever played. I built this set (3-GapWedge) with Dynamic Gold R300 for a customer that changed his mind and did not purchase. I decided to try them on a whim and never looked back. Amazing soft feel at impact. Mis-hits are not harsh and overall yardage is the same as my old set. The shaft allows good workability and shots hold the line with ease.
It is nice to stare down a long par three and take aim with total confidence.
I will be spreading the word about kzg products to all who will listen!

Customer Service

Simply the best people to deal with, ordering was a breeze, entire staff willing to answer any question and all seem very knowledgable about product line.

Still earning how to hit smaller heads. But love the look and feel. When hit, they stay hit. And when you miss the centre they still stay fairly straight. Less distance than my old Golfsmith Jetstreams, but more accurate and predictable (when hit properly).

Been playing these clubs for a year. They made me get lessons first of all, and I don't regret it a bit. Feel is what you'd expect from forged clubs. One thing they offer that OEM doesn't is the ability to mix and match. I have cavities from 3 to 5 iron, 6-PW are blades. Best of both worlds in my opinion.

BEST CLUBS I HAVE EVER HIT, HANDS DOWN. I HAVE TROUBLE SOMETIMES DECIDING IF I SHOULD HIT THE BLADES OR THE CAVITY'S. IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW I AM SWINGING THAT DAY.

These clubs are absolutely awesome. Great classic look, thin topline, and minimal offset. I had some reservations about buying lesser known component clubs, however after taking some demos to the range, I couldn't resist. I actually had a tough time choosing between the kzg forged cavity and the kzg forged blade. I felt I still needed a little more forgiveness from a perimeter weighted club, and what I found with these cavity backs was a true forged feel plus the added forgiveness. Higher handicaps need not worry about this forged club. I can honestly say that if these clubs were priced similar to the leading brand names i.e. hogan, mizuno, cleveland, I would have paid the price.

Customer Service

I have not dealt with their customer service department too much, however e-mail questions were returned very promptly
