Model Reviewed: kane golf 304 blade iron set

I bought a set of kane golf 304 stainless steel irons a few years ago. I opted for the lightweight steel shaft of stiff flex. They are excellent clubs, which are well designed. It is just a shame they are not chrome-plated----then they would be world-beaters.

Customer Service

Superb service---I turned up at the factory and they produced them to measure, with thickened golf pride grips on the spot. Service could not be better!!!

I have played all makes of clubs, having played to scratch in the fifties, sixties and seventies. Mainly used John Letters Master Model, and MacGregor irons in the past.

Model Reviewed: Kanegolf 304 blade

I am a high handicapper who struggles to find consistency so if I am to believe the manufacturer's reports/golf magazine reviews I should not go anywhere these clubs - in fact, I should delete the word blade/muscleback from my vocabulary, right?

Well, let's dispense with the prescribed wisdom - what about the reality? In fact my long game has actually improved since I started using these clubs....I am sure the bulkier cavities are easier to hit but I am not convinced they actually help a weekend hacker like myself to learn how to play "proper" shots. Granted, the 304s do require a more disciplined approach to swinging a golf club but surely that will yield better results in the longer term? Moreover, once you manage to locate the sweetspot with some degree of regularity these beauties dispatch the ball pretty effortlessy in the direction you are aiming(it also helps if you are using the appropriate ball for your swing characteristics)- needless to say, offcentre hits and poor swings get what they deserve....

I have to confess that appearance is important for me - and the 304s are in the supermodel category as far as I am concerned (for many of my playing partners, too). Additionally, so far no problems with scuffing or tarnishing.

In terms of value for money, I am not aware that there is any competition for these clubs - a tad under £200 in standard spec for a full set plus a sand wedge. I payed nearly 3 times as much for my previous set (Titleist 731s - yes, I'm a lefty) which were much tougher to hit.

Customer Service

Very good - quick response to my enquiry and they even made up a 2-iron for me! Long live the small independents!
