Feel Competitor
Great irons. I picked these up for cheap on FleaBay. The heads are beautiful - perfect size for blades and no stampings on the sole. They came with Rifle 6.0 shafts - i had them analzyed because they felt much softer and hit higher than 6.0 - turns out that they play much softer than a 6. I tossed the shafts and put in True Temper Dynamic Gold SL X100's and they are awesome now. they aren't very forgiving but they reward you with good feedback. The sweetspot is a little towards the hosel - took some getting used to but once you do they are pretty darn accurate. They like to hit straight but they can be worked as well. Customer Service no experience with them Similar Products Used: hogan apex blades, armour 986 blades, taylormade burner tour irons, macgregor MB and CB irons |

Feel Competitors
The name says it all. After 15 years of playing various Pings with some success I wonderered if I could still use blades. Picked up a set of Competitors on e bay for a song and first time out shot 5 under my handicap and still managed to miss half a dozen putts. The feel heads,Rifle 6 shafts and softie grips worked superbly. I am a re convert to blades. Thank you Dr.Feel. Any one who can hit a 3 iron as well as a 6 iron must do themselves a favour and try these irons, even if you buy new and pay full price. Mizuno, Titleist et al - be afraid, very afraid. Competitor Irons 3-PW
These clubs are very attractive, small beautiflly crafted heads with a thin top line and plenty of weight, especially around the toe. The sweet spot is sweet and extends from the middle of the club to almost right across the toe. The heel is a weak spot, but mis-hits generally lack distance and trajectory and certainly not accuracy. These clubs do prefer to hit straight, and it is rare to find the ball veering a long way off the target line. The clubs are not the longest I've hit, but when you find the glorious sweet spot the ball flies on a nice trajectory with plenty of distance, never too high, pretty much just right and good quality spin balls will always pull up on well struck shots. I bought these clubs unhit on ebay for $150, they seem to sell at around that price twice a day. An absolute bargain, if you want to try out a cheap set of blades, dont miss this opportunity. I'd like to give these irons a 5 star rating, because I think they are better than a 4, I'd say 4.5. They're not perfect as they can be hard to hit from tight lies. For the better golfers amongst us. Customer Service The clubs were bought from www.proshopwarehouse.com on ebay and these guys are great. Fast response to queries, exceptionally quick delivery and great products. Excellent! Similar Products Used: Its my first foray into blades. I've had 6 sets of clubs over the last 20 years, all better than the last and none better than the feel competitor irons. |
