These are the best set of irons I've ever played. I just traded in a more expensive brand that I didn't hit near as well. I know beat my playing partner by an average of 5 strokes per round. These have the largest sweet spot and are very affordable set of irons. I won't play anything else. Customer Service Fantastic. I need to shorten the shaft by a 12 inch and raised the angle on the club by 2%. Done and shipped within a week. Similar Products Used: Much better then my other set. The huge sweet spot makes these a must own club. |

I am just starting to get into the game and i work at a country club so we get 50% off. When i went to talk to the golf pro he told me that he thought i would like the King Cobra SSi the best. He had a set there for demo and i went out to the range and hit a couple and i loved them the sweet spot is so big its hard to not hit and very light weight with a soft grip. i had no intention of buying the right then but when i was done hitting i couldn't wait. Now i am just saving up for the Woods. |

King Cobra SS-i
I have only just taken delivery of my new King Cobra SS-i steel shafted, regular flex irons, and I already know that I've made a wise purchase. I am particularly pleased that I also decided to buy the 2-iron, gap and lob wedges to go with usual 3-SW. I am a 7-handicapper and my best score all summer with my previous set of clubs was a 5-over par 74 at my local course (I've played once a week, every week since February). My first round with my new cobras took place over the weekend just gone, and saw me shoot a 4-over par 73. This is with only having spent an hour at the driving range beforehand 'getting used to them'. I really am chuffed. Using the lob wedge feels like cheating, and I'm convinced I will achieve a level par round (or better) sometime very soon. My only slight complaint is that I find the clubs to be slightly heavy; but perhaps they're just heavier than my previous clubs and I'm just being picky. Customer Service Delivery of the clubs was sporadic (3-SW came first, then the gap and lob wedge, then the 2-iron). Nothing else. Similar Products Used: Titliest DTR, Precept Tour EV. |

Cobra ssi irons
I was using a set of Cobra clones for ten years. I kept visiting the driving range quite often but never have broken 90. This is my quest and I started to look at clubs, not necessarily with the intent to buy but just looking. The ones that felt the best to me were the Cobra ssi steel shaft clubs. They just felt nice. The price was attractive as well. Right in my range. Although I didn't buy right of the bat I kept thinking about improving my game and was in the mood to purchase somewhere down the road. I went on a golf weekend with some friends and the best golfer had an original set of Cobras.Every shot he hit was sweet, a pleasure to watch .So I went to Golftown (early in the morning) and tried them in the simulator and they seemed to go straight and long. I was fitted and the service person said these off the shelf were perfect for me according to their fitting system. Although these clubs have taken a while for me to get used to, the shots are really sailing now.A lot longer and strighter. I have been practicing shaping shots and there is no problem. By going to the practice range and learning the characteristics of these clubs, and watching the consistency of the ball flight, I believe my scores will be slipping into the 80s very shortly. Customer Service Great selection and Service at Golftown Similar Products Used: King Viper Callaway Hawkeye Callaway Steehead III |

I love these clubs. Being a novice to the game, I was recommended this set by other players and the golf shop. Played my first round with these clubs, and cut 20 off my score [90~ Putting needs work :)]. Can't wait to get back to the course with it. They are a very forgiving set and the price was at an acceptable level for one who wishes to play more golf in the future. King Cobra SSi Stainless Steel irons, Reg Graphite
Over the past ten years I have owned at least 20 sets of irons. My latest set, Big Bertha 2002's, with steel shafts, are great. They are super forgiving and I won't part with them. However, I bought the King Cobra SSi Fairway woods and went crazy with them (see my review under fairway woods) so I bought the matching SSi irons with stainless steel heads and regular flex graphite shafts. The soles have differing bounce, the offset varies from lots with the 3-iron to zero with wedges and the swing weights are all the same (D-1) even for the sand and lob wedges. This swing weighting means that every club swings the same - a great advantage. These irons are every bit as forgiving as the Berthas but they are longer and allow you to shape shots more easily. The lob wedge is just short of cheating when you need a very delicate touch close in, from a tight lie, with very little green to work with. Best iron set I've owned - best fairway woods I've owned. I expect to drop 4 points over the next three months with this equipment. Customer Service Always great at Pro Golf Ottawa Similar Products Used: Titleist (2 sets), Purespin, Cleveland, Callaway (3 sets), Palmer, Nicklaus, TaylorMade (3 sets), Mizuno ... and so on. |
