That said, they are actually more fun to hit than any other club. Oh and by the way, when you do miss the green (which will not be much) these are real special for chipping up to the pin. - mobile mechanic services

Strength:

The VAS+ irons were designed with game improvement in mind, targeting mid to high handicappers who seek forgiveness and distance. These irons often feature design elements to make them more forgiving on off-center hits. by tstoto

Strength:

If the ball goes to the right or left, it is user error. If you struggle with irons, these are the way to go. This year I have started firing in the high 70's & it all has to do with the control of these irons. It is pretty hard to stop a fairway metal from 165!!! ATV towing Cedar Park

I saw these at a garage sale in like new condition so I thought I would enter the VAS controversy. Not a big sole on these but a great game improvement club. I/m a bogey golfer. I find the distance to be good. These clubs taught me to keep my hands in front of the head when hitting the irons. Very forgiving irons. Playing a firm shaft set as far as my regular (uniflex) shaft set of Launcher LP irons. Not once have my playing partners commented on the looks of these especially when hitting the green. These do hit the ball high as in other game improvement clubs. These are great for what I do. Pleasantly suprized! I do not claim they are as good as present iron offerings but I don't feel these suffer much in comparison.

I just bought a set of cleveland irons 2 weeks ago and they are great. I have a natural slice and these clubs have helped correct it a lot I'm hitting straighter which is giving me more distance as well

I have a set Cleveland VAS+ with Regular steel shafts. Bought them when I was 13 shortly before I stopped playing. I think they were about $350. They were great clubs for a 13 year old kid, but not anymore.

I'm now 20 and actually concerned with improving my game. Took about a 6 year break and now I'm re-addicted. These irons no longer satisfy me though. I hit the 9 iron about 140, the 6 iron to about 170, and the 3 iron around 190 These clubs love to get HIGH and they tend to fly with a slight draw. If that's what you're looking for, these will provide it, but they are shorter in distance than any other iron I've tried. For reference, I've got a Ping knockoff gap wedge that I hit 135ish yards. I've got a pretty powerful swing and I would like to see more distance from my iron play but these irons seem to top out.

On the plus side, these irons are forgiving and easy to get in the air. They also provide good feedback for cast cavities. The ball does stop where it lands, even with the long irons. They do look very strange when lined up but you get used to it.

Over all, these irons are good but not what I'm looking for. If you are looking for a shorter but higher ball flight, these irons will give it to you. I prefer to hit irons over woods and hybrids and would like to see longer flight to cover those distances.

Shoots in the 80s
Model Reviewed: VAS+

I've been using these clubs for almost 6 years. I'm at the point where I consistantly shoot in the low 80's once I break off the rust from the cold weather and its due in large part to these clubs. I use stiff rifle shafts on these clubs and boy do they feel smooth when you hit it clean, but man do you feel it when you miss hit the ball. I hit my 9 about 145 and my 7 about 165 and I can add 5 more yards to each when I'm between clubs. The only reason Im even considering getting rid of these is that I would like to get down to scratch and the offset of these clubs just doesnt let me work the ball like I want. Great clubs for anyone looking to get their score into the low-mid 80's
