Use to play X-16s and decided to get rid of the chunky offset clubs and get something more in line with a blade. I was looking at the TA2s but went with MP-32. Played them once and traded them in for the TA2. The TA2 just fit me perfectly. The had a great feel and the distance was 10-15 yds further than my old X-16s. The first time I played the TA2, I shot a 82. What really pleased me were the few miss hits. The ball still went straight, but only lost around 15 yds. (i can live with that). I would recommend these irons for someone looking to get out of big clunky irons. I brought these used at Van's for $499 (hardly any wear)

I've been away from the game about 6 years so I demod severals sets. I've played Ping most of my life (played from age 13-32, I'm 38 now). After talking with a friend about new clubs, he recommended Titliest 690 MB's . After demoing Ping, Mizuno (great clubs), Titliest and Clevelands, I went for the Clevelands. Besides feel, being able to really work the ball, I got a great deal on the clubs. I've played appoximately 2 months with them and I'm happy with my choice. My only complaint is that the wedge is a little strong at 46 degree, however, I'm going to bend it to 47 or 48 soon. As I stated early,I played Ping most of my life and believe that they make a great product, but I was looking for more feel and felt that the TA2' were for me. I do believe that they are for the better ball striker. With that being said, always demo several set, not just one club to each set, try them all if possible. If your looking to work the ball and have good feel try the TA2's. Cleveland seams to be at the top of their game with their irons.

Played these for about seven months, then gave up and traded in for TA 7's, and I'm glad I did. My handicap is 10, and when I hit the TA-2's well, they were the best feeling clubs I've experienced. However, they are not forgiving--you will notice that most of the raves on this page are from the single handicappers, and I would suspect these clubs are best for those who are 6 or better. For the good weekend player, the TA 7's are a better choice.

I've spent the past eight months taking lessons and hit almost every club (steel shaft, graphite shaft)out there -- Callaways (X-16s, X-14s, Big Berthas), Mizuno MP series, Snake Eyes, Titlest, Pings and finally Clevelands. I'm home free, finally. I know this is a "player's club", but I hit these better than all of the others mentioned above. Hit them straighter, longer too. I've even gotten to where I can try shaping a shot or two. Excellent product, worth every dollar. Shot two back to back rounds of 80 and 81-my best ever.

The Cleveland TA2's are the best clubs I have ever hit. Low draws are very easy to hit. High fades are also pretty easy. I know when I hit the screws and when I hit it a little thin or phat. Distance control is great. When I tested them on the local range, I loterally landed 5 6-iron shots within 3 feet of each other. Pretty consistent, which is what every golfer aspires to be. The blade look and feel is also nice. Very responsive. I reccomend these to all. Especially if you spend alot of time on the range and like to practice working the ball. Good things.

I shot in the 80s when I got these 2 weeks ago, now I'm in the 70s every time I go out. Takes a little getting used to, but once you get your swing grooved, the irons are amazing. Great distance control, and the ability to work shots is very good. Get yourself fitted first, take a lesson, then get these clubs.

Customer Service

The customer service has been excellent, but I custom ordered my clubs and they took almost 2 months to be delivered. Apparenly some sort of back order on the heads.

I just bought the TA2 irons about a month ago, after deciding that I wanted to shape my shots more. The previous irons I had were also Clevelands (TA5 Gunmetals), so I figured the TA2s would be better. Honestly, I think I'm still getting used to the heavier clubs (Dynamic Gold steel shafts) and the less forgiving club head needs some egtting used to. However, by and large the clubs have a really good feel to it, and with a little more practice, I should be able to have the clubs swinging the way I want them to.

Customer Service

The local distributors had only limited sets available, which is why I had to opt for the Dynamic Gold instead of the Sensicore shafts

As you can tell from the perfect rating on these clubs, they're a great set. And not only are they a great set for golfers who like to shape their shot, but they're great for all golfers. They have minimal offset, but that doesn't mean that a 20 handicap can't hit these clubs. They're extremely soft, but yeild tremendous feel and touch. The trajectory control is unlike any other iron set I've tried. I play in college on a course that requires every iron shot to be precise in every aspect. These irons have allowed me to go at the ball and not have to worry about if I'll be able to shape it around this tree, or if I'll be able to keep it below this branch. They're all around great. The setup is nice if you like the small club head feel. Even though the club head is small, it doesn't feel like you're swinging a paper club head. They aren't super heavy, but heavy enough to get some feel. Most of you probably want to know about the distance. I used to play Ping I-3+ Blades and those I thought were long. I went to a range and hit the 6 iron of Cleveland TA2's. I normally hit 6 iron from about 185-190 and hit this 6 iron 210. Now that's by far not my average with these clubs, but I'm averaging around 195-200 on good swings with my 6 iron.

This is a follow up to my previous review, perhaps I was too enthusiastic in that review. I had moved from large offset / medium size head clubs to these near blade configured clubs. I play at least 2 rounds a week and found recently that my worst part of the game was irons. I considered briefly to trade in for TA7's or Pings / more forgiving clubs, but decided to press on and follow my original decision that these TA2's would force me to find my swing instead of forgiving errors. Well, if you play enough and just keep wacking at it you will find these clubs to be real nice. I have moved from trying to have a model stroke to just doing what works, these clubs definitely please me now. Really, though, I have seen many near scratch players playing with all kinds of high offset clubs - those probably would have worked for me as well. This review is for 90's players - if you play once a month / year, don't get these - however if you play at least twice a week, these will work for you. You have to make adjustments and hit them a lot, I can say that I am finally hitting as good as my original high offset beginner clubs. Now I am looking foward to getting to where I can make the ball do stuff other than just straight.

Okay, I shoot in the 90's (on a good day). So, I am supposed to pick "game improvement" clubs like the TA6's - right? I hit the TA6's at the store - wow, they are like butter (wish I had both). But, the TA2's are also butter - when hit it sweet. I love the near blade look, my goal is blades eventually - I don't care if I am still in the 90's, I just love the way blades play when your in the zone (I will take the good with the bad). Anyway, I got really lucky with the price - these were used at $540, but looked like brand new. Then an additional 15% red tag, then another 10% for Golfsmith coupon. A couple of things to think about - 1) these clubs are very light (that was a change), 2) they are very soft - hit sandy balls and left the irons in trunk overnight and there are little rusty nicks at grooves already). I suggest cleaning and drying immediately after every game, and clean and drop balls when dirty (I know the rules, just pretend winter all year around).

Customer Service

Golfsmith staff is awesome.
