I have played these also since 1995 and I swear by them. So much so that I realize that they do not make them any more so if I see a set on E-Bay, I scoop it up. Up to 5 sets now and counting (Steel and Graphite when the swing slows down). Easy to hit. Great off the tee on short Par 4's with the long irons. Great value now as these were before their time when they first came out. Now you can get set for under $100 if you are patient.

Have been playing these irons since 1995. They are without a doubt the most forgiving, easiest to hit irons I have ever played. I have the 1 iron thru the sand wedge and i can hit the 1 iron as easily as any of the other irons.

Need to replace the shafts and am thinking about trying to use steel instead of graphite. Can this be done without drastically increasing swing weight??

These were my first clubs and I used them till I felt that I could only improve my game by going over to forged mussel back irons. I would like to say if there are best clubs for the beginner then these must be right up there. The head of the clubs are quite large and the sweet spot accordingly large. They are well offset an easy to hit and you can learn to control the ball into hook and slice, but you will find them not as accurate as you would like due to the low torque of the shafts. Mine came with graphite shafts – EXTREME Controlled Flex Span System “Firm version”. As far as I know these are Sweetish made shafts and are no longer available. I had difficulties with the shaft on the #7 peeling and I had it changed for a steel shaft. This only improved the club and I had the whole set fitted with steel shafts. The #3 and #4 irons should be about 10 to 15 yards longer compared with the #5, #6 and #7. I will recommend these to the newcomer. The more advanced player may find all the bells and whistles (PHD, Ti Face and the plastic vibration dampers) to much to carry around the club house. Never the less, I and my Palmer are going to stay together until the 19th hole. To day these sets are available at Bay-Hill under the PHD name.

Have had a dozen other sets of irons in as many years. Bought these from a discount catalog for cents on the dollar. Ihave played these for two years and will play them till they wear out. They play down the middle and long; too bad they aren't available anymore.

these Irons are worth the money. They are very forgiving and have a light feel. I demo-ed a set in regualr and stiff and found I could better feel the club head in regular flex and did not give up distance or acuracy. the grips are totally awsome, made by Winn. My handicap has steadily decreaseced since the purchace of these Irons and my winnings have helped to offset the cost

I have worked at golf facilities for 10 years and have hit every club under the sun. Taylor, Ping, Armour - You name it. This is the best club I have ever hit. I picked a set up for $250 from GolfDay, swapped out the original shafts with the ones from my current set and I can count on 1 hand the number of bad shots I have hit with these heads. The feel isn't as great as I would hope for but the performance and shot correction are second to none. I am very pleased.

I know these clubs where discontinued, but why? These clubs are solid and forgiving along with incredibly straight. Workable and best of all easy to hit. Even on my bad days these clubs get up in the air and the long irons are as easy to hit as the 7 iron.
