Reasonably forgiving, good distance. Seemed to get best results with the ball teed relatively low-maybe 1/4 ball above the top of the club. Very little feedback on contact. Sometimes thought I had hit the ball fat but turned out very solid and long. Not bad but not the best for me. Should be able to find at good price.

Model Reviewed: metal matrix 9 degree driver

This is a great driver. It is flys far and accurate when hit with a descent swing. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive driver with good results, this is the one for you. The club allows off center without too much of a penalty. Shots in the center fly off the club very nicely. I like the sound the metal matrix makes.

I found The Fatashaft really reliable and easy to hit. I used to play with a Powerbilt Tps driver. With that drive I could hit a great stroke around 250 yards. But with the Fatashft I hit almost every drive at least 260 yards. And 9 out of 10 drives stays exactly where I want them to! My advice to you is to buy this club right away!!!

After struggling to find a driver that I wouldn't slice further than my drive went forward I found the Fat Shaft Metal Metrix. I was torn between this and the Steelhead by Calloway, but after a Large bucket at the range and 18 holes of golf I found the Fat shaft out drove the calloway, it hit and played straighter than the calloway, it had a nicer feel than the calloway, and was $100 less than the calloway. This driver has brought a smile back into my game. Thanks Fat Shaft!

This is an excellent driver. Since buying mine I have increased my drives by 20 yds vs my steel Big Bertha. An smooth tempo swing results in great distance.

I used to own the Wilson 1200 and now find that these Fat Shafts somewhat better. The build quality is excellent, and the fit and finish are second to none.
