Model Reviewed: Tour Edge Exotics CB1 15 degree

Just bought this club at a ridiculously low price, based on reviews here and in another golf forum. I was after extra distance from a 3 wood. Bought an Adams Insight 15 degree just prior and although rated gold in Golf Digest, the earth did not move and I got no more distance than my 16 degree Tayormade utility, which gets it out there.Sold the Adams two weeks later!
Took the Tour Edge Exotics with Aldila stiff shaft for a test run today and was so "blown away" had to rush to confirm the hype. Not sure how far shots went as not playing my own course, but incredibly solid feel, perfect trajectory and everything I could want in a 3 wood.Indeed, it exceeded the hype. I buy a lot of stuff from Ebay etc untested, so rely on reviews here and generally find them accurate. This is one great club, and I am now hunting out its relatives!!Buy one...seriously!

i bought this club about 2 months ago. great to use off the tee. seems a little to bulky, which makes it harder to hit off the ground. good club overall. i dont know about the other woods but the one i have seems to balloon into the air a little. good club though.

I've been a self proclaimed Callaway wh*** for years. That is before a buddy of mine let me hit his CB1. WOW! I now play the 3wood, hybrid and EX-1 irons from the Exotics line. The 3wood is dynamite. I have the 15* and hit it a consistent 250-255 off the tee. The 3wood is the most solid wood I have ever used. I'm in the golf industry and have the opportunity to hit and play about anything that comes out yet I still choose to hit the Tour Edge clubs. You can get the original CB1's off Ebay for around $100 and the new CB2's for around $225. The CB1 is better than most new 3woods and the CB2 blows all of them away. Give them a try you will not be dissapointed!

Model Reviewed: Tour Exotics CB 15* fairway wood,

Model with stiff X Quad factory shaft (by Graphite Design).

A nice club, especially long off the tee, and ball seems to carry a bit more than you first expect watching it take off. Allows me to go with a 3W on more shorter par 4s with tight fairways where I don't want to risk driver error.

Used older Orlimar FWs for years and until now never found anything to equal or exceed them in length, frequently equalling or even outdriving friends' off the tee, so was curious/skeptical about the Tour Edge claims. This 3W (15*) is definitely longer than my Orlimar 14 degree, maybe not 20 yards, but longer. I'm a believer.

I will look into the 4 wood (16.5*) depending on if the 3W leaves too much of a distance gap from my next club down(20 degree). Not complaining for now.

Try ebay for a reasonable deal and value. Club is great, but I wouldn't pay $349 list price.

This won't take a lot of space:

LONG, very long, esp. off the tee.

Expensive but worth every penny for the avid golfer. Find it on e-bay for a reasonable price, until every one else finds out about it.

ball go far...I've read good things about it, but now I'm a believer. I couldn't justify 350 on a fairway wood, but now that the CB2 is out, deals can be found. I waited over a week for my special order (<200), but worth every penny. It sets up well and with my avg swing speed and tendency to 'fade', the fujikura Reg 66g shaft works great, with a fairly low ball flight, low spin, good roll and fairly straight. As far and more consistent than all my drivers. What sold me was a driving range demo with a Taylor, Ping (G5?), and the Exotics. The ball explodes off the face and flies further, esp compared to the Ping.

Customer Service

haven't used it, but people here say it's good.

Model Reviewed: Exotics CB2 16.5 degree wood

I tried this club on a ball launch monitor against my old wood(cleveland launcher). Note that I have been searching for a longer 3 wood for .....years without success. This one is the first that actually seems to deliver. The 16.5 4-wood was 10-15 yards longer than my clevland 15*.....wow. Unlike many posts I see here, I am not exaggerating....this was done on a good quality launch monitor and I took a lot of shots to get a good sample. I have not played with it yet, but the launch monitor results are quite impressive.

Model Reviewed: Tour Edge Exotics 3 & 5 wood

After trying nearly every available fairway wood on the market (including many odd ones in Japan), I thought the Nike SQ seemed to fit my swing the best (108 mph). In fact, I only finally learned about the Exotics while I had two new Nike clubs sitting on top of the checkout counter ready to go. 4 out of the 5 shop staff owned at least one of the fairway woods, and they all recommended that I not make my decision until I hit one. I picked up a used 3 wood on eBay for $160 and found myself on a 599yd par 5 in two the very first time I hit it. The NEXT hole was a cheeky 290yd par 4 over some trees. I promptly drove the green and left it 11ft from the hole. I figured I had made the right choice.

Over several rounds, however, I came to discover that the trajectory of hits from the fairway were very low. I was unable to generate any spin and subsequently over-shot greens left and right. Off the tee I average 275-290yds with the 3wd, and around 240-260 with the 5. I have never been hurting for distance, but spin and accuracy is key when coming into a tightly placed green on a crucial par 5. So, on the advice of a good friend, I replaced the shaft with weight and torque specifications I was comfortable with (let's face it, OEM shafts are plain sketchy). I ended up with some graphite design ys-6s on my clubs and have been happier ever since. I can attack narrow fairways, carry dangerously long water hazards and, despite popular belief, it remains pretty workable from any lie.

I would recommend these clubs to anyone who is looking for more reliability off the tee, but does not want to sacrifice distance (in many cases gains will be made). I would NOT recommend the 3wd, however, to someone who is used to creating high lofty shots that land soft and sweet. Although I can generate a lot of loft and spin with the 5wd, the 3wd takes a bit more work.

Lack of popularity among the masses keeps the prices low on eBay...happy hunting.

This is the best feeling club I've ever used. Feels extremely solid, soft, and hot all at once. I cannot describe it any better than that. You need to try this club. I'm going to have to get fit for a driver now so that I can maximize my distance out of it because this 3 wood is within 5-10 yards of my driver. I usually hit my driver around 260-275. I hit this club a consistent 270 off of the tee. I have a hard time hitting any 15* off of the fairway consistently but I've been doing better than expected so far with this one. This club retails for $350 and I paid $70 for the head. I wouldn't say this is the most forgiving 3 wood, but it is forgiving enough. The face angle is square which is nice for someone like me. Best club I've ever hit. I have a hard time justifying spending $350 on any club but if I HAD to buy a club in a store for full price, this would be the one. That is why this one only gets 3 value stars.

Model Reviewed: 3 Wood

This past spring, I took my Hippo 3-W to the expo. I wanted to compare it to the Exotic. Due to wrist problems, I put my 1 iron in the closet & bo the Hippo a few years ago. It was the best 3-W I had hit until I tried the Exotic. The first time I used it hitting my 2nd shot to a hidden green on a par 5, (using 3 balls) I couldn't find one of the shots. As I walked to the back part of the green, I saw a ball in the tall fringe just over the green. I couldn't believe it. I had never been on that green in 2 shots. Now, I am regularly green high or on that green. Another par 5, I have hit on in 2 several times this year. I don't even average playing 1 time per week during the season. W/o a doubt, it is the best 3-W I've ever had in my 50 yrs of playing golf.
