Model Reviewed: Titleist 904F 15* 3 Wood YS-6+ Stiff

Well I already had the 905T 9.5* driver with the YS-6 Stiff shaft in it and love it. The matching 904F 15* 3 wood with the YS-6 fairway wood shaft is a perfect fit! The shaft is very stable and gets the ball launching at a perfect mid-trajectory.

Titleist fairway woods have been known for the 'click' sound, not a metallic ping, which is what I like even more about the 904F. Such a great sounding club and it feels so soft.

A very workable 3 wood I can hit the high-cut shots and low-boring draws. I've used this club to hit shots anywhere from 225-265. This club slides effortlessly through thick rough and tight lies to get the ball airborne as well.

I bought this club on eBay and the matching headcover is always a plus, best 3 wood I have ever owned...period.

I have always wanted to purchase the Titleist 3(15 degrees) and 5 wood (19) so started a new job and went out and bought them. O MY GOD was I glad I did. The best club I bought and thinking I will ever buy. So easy to hit. Bought it with a stiff shaft. Barely have to swing and boom!!!! brilliant.

Thanks Titleist

Model Reviewed: 904F 19 deg & 22 deg

I was reading a review I wrote on the 904F 15 deg back on June 15, 2006 and thought I would add some additional comments about these fairway woods...since then I have added 2 more 904Fs to my bag...a 19* and a 22*..both with the Graphite Design YS-6+ shaft...These clubs have become my favorites! These are the best fairway woods I have ever owned and I've gone through quite a few! I absolutely love playing these clubs and with a good swing the ball just rockets off the face with a low penetrating trajectory that climbs and lands softly...There has been many a time when I have hit 5 wood into the green from 180 + out and landed it softly..my 7 wood I have used on longer par 3s with a lot of success! Generally these clubs are designed for the "better player" but I personally feel that with a good swing these clubs are pure money! The feeling of good contact is incredible! Plus these are just great looking clubs! My 22* I actually picked up off of ebay for a mere $60! Considering that I bought my 15* over a year ago at a local Golfsmith for around $200..the 22* was a steal!

Titleist is known for making clubs for more traditional minded tastes and I can see why...The classic pear shape is pleasing as you look down on your shot and the feeling of confidence you get before you hit your shot is wonderful!

I'm very happy with these fairway woods and I'm sure they will be in my bag for a long time!

Model Reviewed: Titleist 904F 3, 5 and 7 metal woods

After having some problems with consistency with my 905T driver (and leaving it at home) I began using my 904F 3 wood as a driver. I was amazed at how much more accurate I was with only about a 10-15 yd less drive than my driver. Rarely am I off the fairway. When my swing is on I have no need for a driver. Many times my friends will out drive me, yet I'll be on the green right with them, because I know where my ball is going and I can play smarter. This new way of thinking in course management has helped me lower my scores. The 904F has a beautiful look at address. It just looks professional and the sound at impact is music to my ears. Very confidence inspiring. I have at times hit the 3 wood 200 yards off the grass to drive a green.
I will say that the 5 wood is also good, and only a bit shorter (10-15 yards) but I have not had success hitting the 7 wood for some reason. Since discovering the Mizuno CLK Fli-hi hybrids I've had no need for a 7 or even a 5 wood anymore.
I do, however, highly recommend the 904F 3 wood!

I normally shoot in the high 80s, low 90s. I bought this club because I could not get the distance from my 3 iron and didn't like the hybrids. This club has been fantastic. I have always had trouble hitting woods off the deck, but not with this club. It gets the ball in the air fast and flies long. It also works well off the tee on short par 4s. I would definitely recommend this club to any player. I have the steel shaft 17 degree

I purchased a 904F 15* fairway wood with an Aldila NV 75 about a month ago. I get much better distance than I did with my old 3-Wood. It also is very accurate. I got it for a great price, $99.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 904F 15* DG S300+YS-6 Stiff

Used to play Callaway Steelhead Plus #3 woods(who has'nt). They were great in their day, but wow, these 904F woods put them to shame. I have two 904's, one with the YS-6 in stiff, and the other with DG-S300, both 15*. I'd be hard pressed to pick one over the other. I do love the DG steel shaft though(much better than the uniflex used in the Steelheads)--laser accurate, and I find I don't get as sloppy with my swing as is the tendency with the lighter graphite shafts. The heavier shaft also helps lessen the occasional "topped" shots. Distance for strong players with good swings is less but not that much less as with graphite shafts. Steel is for real, so revisit it if you've been away for awhile. As others have said this club is not meant for hackers--you do need to put some clubhead speed on the ball to get decent height on your shots. On the plus side is distance and a solid feel that is second to none. Very muted but hot/solid--as though the clubhead was one solid chunk of steel--no vibrations or hollow sounds. The club is also well balanced, very workable, has a square face and no draw bias(which is great for me since I have a natural draw). Anyhow, if you shoot in the 90's and lower you won't find better than this--if you are new to the game this club won't do you any favors.

Just over half of my rounds in 70-s with the rest in the 80-s. I have fast tempo and sometimes struggle to feel the clubhead. Have searched for years for a three wood that I could tee off with more reliably than driver and hit well off the deck. Used the 980F (NV stiff) for a while but couldn't hit well consistently from the tee and not so well off deck. Kept going back to my TM 200 which was a good club, but a little too offset for me so I could hook it when not swinging well.

Tried the Mizuno F-50 which is a good club but I started taping it up with lead to get more headweight (I guess I'm not the best candidate for composites).

Around 6 months ago I went with the 905F with NV 80 stiff. The club has been a godsend. The heavier head weight is perfect for me, I can work the ball, impact feels unbelievably good and I just kill it with this club. Finally found a three wood that makes me happy and that I look forward to hit instead of dread. I have always gone back to Titleist drivers when I stray, and never had problems liking them or hitting them consistently. I still rotate the 905R, 905T and 983K like baseball bats as that helps me keep tempo moreso than sticking with just one club. Weird I guess, but that's me.

Anyways, I love the 904F.

I bought this club about 6 months ago and I've really played it about 6 times. I believe this is a really great club off the tee, but it is horrible off the deck. Every time I've tried to hit this club off the deck it's a worm burner (no ball flight at all) if I was buying a club in this area I would by a cobra gravity back, It may be a little older moldel but it is a great club!!!

Model Reviewed: Titleist 904F, 13 Degree Speeder Stiff

I know that just about everyone on these forums gushes about their clubs. It is fairly narcissistic, and I will admit to being guilty of it too from time to time.

There have only been two golf products that I have bought and been completely and overwhelmingly happy with. First are Ben Hogan irons (first Apex Plus, then FTX). The second is this Titleist fairway wood. Three words- Oh my God!!!

Whatever combination causes it (the Stiff, and slightly heavier, Speeder Shaft; the Titleist head design that lowers RPM by 400; or the face), the trajectory, distance, and control of this club are unsurpassable, at least compared to the other clubs I've tried.

A little about my game though, because maybe these woods aren't for everyone. I have a steeper and more aggressive swing. The combination of my swing and this shaft and head combination produce repeatable, and LONG downrange flights with a slight draw. The run you get is unreal, especially when hit with a slight draw. I have really surprised myself with how long I hit this thing- much of it comes from the run. No kidding, it is not unusual for me to hit in the high 200s with this club. I have hit it over 300 a couple of times. Playing my regular course with this club, I am finding myself in places I had never been before- even with my driver!

To put it simply- there is absolutely no reason for me to use a driver- even my 905T, also with a Speeder, hardly surpasses this fairway wood (say 10-15 yds consistently). But it is uncanny how accurate the 904F is. What's even better, you can open up the face and hit nice high fades that stop reasonably quickly from about 250 yds out. For instance, at my course there is a par 5 that I make two shots on with this 3+Wood. The first is a nice long draw, the second is a high softish fade to the green. The hole is 530yds long, and it works every time.

If you have a steepish, aggressive swing- get this club~!!!
