TaylorMade V Steel Fairway Woods

TaylorMade V Steel Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

A fairway wood should be long, accurate, and versatile. Taylor Made's V Steel fairway woods deliver all three of these essentials, thanks in large part to their V-shaped sole that improves the dynamics of how the sole interacts with the turf at impact.

I have not hit this club on the course yet but what I felt at Roger Dunns can only be described as heaven. Upon speaking to the customer service rep at Dunns he informed me that this 3 wood is one of the best FW woods ever made(in his opinion), which I respect. Purchased the club for $29.99 used.....STOKED! He told me that it is very rare to see a TM VSteel FW in the used section. Upon checking for this item on EBAY I discovered a total (4 Right Handed Stiff 15* 3 woods).....only 4? On the largest buy/sell site in the world? Proof is in the pudding that this club is a keeper and I am pretty excited to put this baby to the test! I'm sure i'll be home in 2 on all PAR 5's for the remainder of my life!!!! LOL. Hit em straight, LATE!

Customer Service

Roger Dunns staff in Seal Beach are excellent. Very helpful and insightful. They have never mislead me.

The best cluib I have ever had the chance to use. Easy to use, light, small head so easy to make good club head speed. Like it`s 3 & 5 brothers it is the only club where I naturaly draw the ball.

I bought these fairway woods on sale, the golf shop is practically giving them away.
I replaced the stock steel shafts with UST Proforce FW stiff....and BAM! It's long, straight and easy to hit.

Bought this at a secondhand store and put a Grafaloy FW shaft in it with a ribbed grip. This club can do it all. High bomb off tee, low stinger, fades, draws. I can't believe TM doesn't make it anymore. By the way, I've got $90 in this club and it looks like new.

Model Reviewed: TaylorMade V-Steel 3+5W

First off, I have a 3W with a DG X100 (tour model w/ "Paint Break") and a 5W with a DG Lite S300.

I will confirm what most people have said is true. This is a solid club, definitely the best FW woods I have ever played.

I cant say anything about the stock graphite shafts, but with an X100 shaft, the club is very accurate. The X100 is probably a little stiff for me, but I dont have the same confidence in the S300 DG Lite. I tend to hit the S300 too high (and Im not sure if it is my swing or the club).

I can hit the 3W from 260-280 off the tee and 240-250 off the deck. The 5W I hit about 230 every time. I also dont really unload on the 5W like I do with the 3W (it might be in my head).

I have noticed that with both clubs, my misses are to the left. I dont have a tough time shaping my shots though. It usually does what I tell it to.

In all honesty, this is the first fairway wood that I really trust and like. I hit my 3W off the tee on any hole less than 430 yards and my scores have dropped significantly.

I wouldnt say that this club is longer than other woods or necessarily more forgiving, but I would say that it is almost a perfect balance.

You also cant beat the price.

People comment on this club alot, especially when I outdrive their $500 driver with a steel shafted 3 wood.

It comes highly recommended.

Absolutely the best woods I have ever used. I started with the 3 wood and a year later bought the 5 wood. Have been using these woods ever since. Its a shame Taylormade no longer makes them. If I can find another set im going to buy them. Just to hold onto when the ones I have finally wear out.

The best 3 wood i have ever hit and i have hit just about every model out there. I have total confidence hitting it off the tee because i will usually stripe it down the middle and if not only miss by a few yards. I find it easy to hit it high or low and its workability is amazing. I usually hit it about 250-260 and use it on about every par 4 thats not ridiculously long.

I like these woods so much I have the 3+, 5 and 7 woods. With the stock R flex graphite a well struck shot booms as far as I can hit a fairway wood of any kind. I get a tight fade with a penetrating ball flight of the right height for each wood. I tried the 3+ first and then added the others. I hit them as often as possible off the tees as they are very accurate and predictable. These are slightly better than the Orlimar Plus woods I consider among the best ever. The Orlimars are a touch more forgiving but these Taylors just agree with me. Shafts are true to flex and the setup agrees with my eyes. Very nice feel to them as well and are now real confidence clubs.

I love these fairway woods. I have a 3, and a 7 wood. I like that I canhit the ball very high and bring it down soft on the green, I am also able to work the ball very well. It is also a very forgiving club and i love the feel of them.
