R7 tp - Vista Pro 80 15*
I have searched for the perfect 3-wood for over three years and think the R7tp is one of the best. The ball flight is very consistent. I tried a bunch of shafts and the Vista Pro 80 is the best fairway shaft I've used to date in the R7tp. It's very stable and predictable. What made me switch from Sonartec was that I could not open the face of the sonartec to square/1*open. The R7tp was easy to bend. The sonartec Np-99 and ss3.5 ballflight is lower and more penetrating, but the steel is so hard, adjusting loft and lie on the head was impossible. Otherwise I'd be playing the NP-99 or ss3.5. I'm very happy with the R7tp though. Customer Service purchased used on ebay. I recently purchased this with a Fujikura R shaft and found that when I used it on the course it performed much better than any of the other 3 woods I have owned. |

R7 TP 5 wood (17.5* loft) Stiff
Why not? That's the first thing in my mind. First, I am sold on its simplified look with thin head profile. Stock shaft is slightly stiffer than Mitsubishi Diamana on SQ2 fairway. I have gained more accuracy while maintaining distance. Currently, I have set it up on fade configuration; you can hit draw if you want. Trajectory-wise; it goes high if you hit it high, it goes low if you hit it low. I find it easy to controll ball flight. This club will physically tell you why tour pro hit fairway wood off the tee very often. It took me almost 3 years to find a fairway wood, and I will stick with this for a long time. This club is the best feeling fairway wood on the market and launches the ball in a hurry. I got mine like new for $104 with the DG Lite S300 shaft and I couldn't be happier. It is more forgiving than the v-steel it replaced in my bag, but for me it doesn't hit it quite as far as the v-steel(could be the weight set up). There really is no better feeling than hitting a decent shot with this club. Buttery soft and a truly beautiful sound. The first time I hit this on the course, my playing partner gave me a look of amazement at how perfect the balls come off the face of this club. Even if you are on a budget, give the steel version a try and you will not be disappointed. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: v-steel |

13 Degree, VistaPro Stiff Shaft
I have the TP Driver and was using a V-Steel Fairway. Gave this a try and ended up buying it. Love this club! With the 13 degree model I get about 265 carry and love the feel of the club. I did change the weights to a pair of 8's rather than how it came set up. No complaints at all! I really do like the sound this makes when you flush it! Customer Service TM customer service has always been good. Similar Products Used: Titleist |

R7 Quad 5-Wood
It was my birthday last week and my dad had told me that we'd go to a local pro and try some 5-Woods out. I'd picked out the R7, Cobra SZ, and the Callaway Fusion Wood. The R7 outperformed all the rest. With the weighting system I have arranged the club to fit my swing. And when I hit it right, there's a big PING sound. Now that my slice is gone I've set the weights back to neutral and am hitting better than I ever have. Customer Service Got it from my golf teacher for $320. Taylormade R7 TP Fairway
So, I bought a TP Driver and loved it. Went to Galaxy and demo'd this club after it came out. Hitting into a net doesn't do demos justice, but it sounded so nice... I got it. Turns out to be another good investment! My previous 3 wood (same loft)... is about 15 yds shorter and with a higher launch. This club hits it straight and with a very boring (not like ho-hum boring, but piercing) trajectory. It's a bit heavier, so as long as my swing is good enough "energy level", then it's fine. Still think the whole TP line is a bit spendy, but can't beat the results so far! And notice, I shoot in 90's. So, it's not like you HAVE to be a scratch golfer to use these clubs. Now, I'm thinking about demo'ing the new TP Rescue to possibly replace my Nike CPR!!! (too bad I'm not made of money). Customer Service Great! Didn't hound me, and let me hit as long as I wanted... even such an expensive club. Similar Products Used: Adams Ovation, Cleveland Launcher Titanium, Ping G2. |
