what is s.p.r stand for it is written on my driver face the only comment i like to make is that the driver is a little too heavy but i guess that 's what make the impact more powerful than other driver

Model Reviewed: Taylor MAde Firesole 3 wood

Got a good deal on that one when they discontinued this line. I play the Firesole strong 3 with a stiff rifle shaft. This 3 wood give me a lot of confidence since it gives me a lot of control. Easily hits 250-260 from fairway and 270 from the tee. Nice boring trajectory. With the rifle stiff shaft, can give him as much tweek as you want and usually stay in perfect control. Just like it. Would like to try it with a UST gold 65 shaft though.

Model Reviewed: Firesole 8.5*, Stiff Shaft

Tested plenty of drivers before choosing this one, including the 975D which I did not get on with at all.

I have found this club to be great when hit out of the middle, and when I'm swinging well, but I will hook the ball more often than I like. Having a low ball flight anyway, the 8.5* loft means lots of roll, and good in to the wind, but much less carry.

Distance-wise, the driver is adequate but needs a hefty swing to get the most, and for me this can turn to a wild hook on occassion.

I had much more accuracy with my old Titanium Bubble 9.5* stiff shaft. More distance with my Killer Whale 10.5* reg. flex (longest drives I've ever hit). All I need is something in between, and the Firesole has not proved to be the one.

I will be sad to say goodbye to this club, with some fond memories and some good rounds, but relish the prospect of trying the likes of a TM 320 and the Ping TiSi - especially the latter which can maybe help straighten out some of the hooks in to draws (and I don;t have the hook problem with my irons).

I can't believe anybody would say one bad thing about this driver. Does the sound of a club put you in the fairway? Lack of distance? What? I consistantly hit this driver 275-300 yards and can draw and fade it at will. I also only weigh 165 lbs. at 6'00". I think too many people are lying about "shooting in the 80's" (Unless it's for 9 holes) since any good golfer can hit any club and just prefers one over the other.

Well, what can I say? When I first started playing golf, I used to tee it up with a Callaway Bobby Jones Tour Driver, and then a Players Titanium %-wood. The 5-wood was the best club...perfect control, great distance(220) but still too short off the tee. Then I got the Firesole! (10.5 degrees, R-80 shaft)). Two problems: Because I had no confidence in my swing, I ordered a WAY OVER LOFTED driver, and second, the shaft was way too whippy. Now I play a 9.0 loft and S-95 shaft and BANG! This driver is perfect! The ball explodes off impact and rolls a good 15-20 yards every time! I'm hitting it anywhere up from 260. Definetely recommend this club, just make sure you get a fairly stiff shaft.

Customer Service

Excellent - changed specs exactly how I wanted it.

These clubs kick hinee. They are the straightest most powerful clubs i have ever played. I hit the ball over twenty yards farther with this club than with the supersteel which stank. I hit it perfectly straight and far . GET THESE CLUBS. Max Heit really needs to get these if he wants to play as good as me.

Great club for the money... I've played Taylor Made Woods and Iorn's for the past 6 years. The Fire-Sole has been a life saver for me. I found I have greater distance as well as more control.

Customer Service

While at the range I let my G/F try out my 3 wood big mistake. I looked up and the head of the club was about 30 yards out on the range. I called Taylor Made told them what had happend. They said take to club to your place of purchase or any golf outlet store, and send it in. I thought I would get a repaired club. To my surprise it was brand new. Nothing but compliments to them.
