Sonartec- SS-02
I was looking for the best fairway wood for quite sometimes, until I was enticed by the media that Sonartec fairway wood is very popular among the tour player. Several of my friends have bought this too, so I bought mine with SS-2 face, & fujikura Vista-Pro-80-stiff. Well my impresion on this club: rating (1-10) Design: 9- Simple with black color Club Head Feel: 9 - I have played for 20 years, this is the best fairway wood that gives me the softest feeling I've ever had. Distance: 9 - This fairway wood gives a ball carry almost similar to my Driver 8.5" Titleist 976-Jvs (Fujikura Speeder) Accuracy: 7 - I tend to push most of the time. So to fix the ball flight, I must adjust my swing, ball position and allignment to make sure I really closed it. It's kind of tough, This club head is more for advance player. Forgiveness: 7 - With this you can not miss hit & the Margin of error is small- The dispersion of the ball landed is quite wide to the right. To compensate this, a little change and adjustment is needed on my swing. Performance: 8 - However the shaft makes a whole lot different. My rating is based on the comparison of old fairway wood that I have been using it for 3 years. If I were to keep this club I need to get the 5 wood too in order to have a consistancy of my swing. In overall I'am happy with the distancy and feel but a little bit concerned of the accuracy. Similar Products Used: My old fairway wood is Mizuno T-zoid 13" Strong with Harrison stiff shaft |

SONARTEC SS-02
I was keen to get a strong 3W+ club and based on the reviews and ratings for this club, the Sonartec appeared to be a safe bet. I purchased the SS-02 14deg with a penly S shaft. As there is only one distributor in the UK (and none in Ireland), I purchased this club through a friend in the US. It looks, feels and plays like a very solid club, feeling heavier than a D-3 swingweighted club. It has a low penetrating ball flight with excellent distance that will please anyone who is looking a strong 3w to complement an oversized titanium driver. When using it from the tee, I often matched my playing partner's drives. It's distance makes more par 5's reachable in 2. However it is quite difficult to control or shape the ball with this club. It has reasonable performance from the light rough. I have not seen the benefit the much touted clubhead design, and find that the dispersion in ball flight is wider than hoped. I find it difficult to set up behind the club, as there is no alignment notch on the club head. Haven played with it 5 times, I still have not decided whether it was a worthwhile purchase.I really wished that I could have demo'd the club before purchasing it. Customer Service I received a prompt and informative response from a Sonartec rep on my query on European distributors. Similar Products Used: Steelhead 3, Titleist 975, Daiwa. |

sonartec ss-02 3 wood
Best looking club out there. The sonartec gives me good distance and direction. Very long and easy to hit off the tee. A little lower ball flight off the fairway but still very straight and long. I feel this is a very solid club and would highly recommend. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Callaway steelhead-also a very good club |

Sonartec SS-02
I will have to agree with the previous reviews. There is so much hype regarding these clubs, that I thought they would be extraordinary. Maybe that is too much to ask of any club. The Sonartec is a beautiful club, but I think its performance is pretty mediocre. It does not set up comfortably for me and I don't find it to be particularly accurate. It is very solid and provides good, if not remarkable, distance. To be honest, I took it out of my bag and went back to my Ping I3 3 wood. Perhaps another player will find that the Sonartec SS-02 lives up to expectations. Customer Service Not used Similar Products Used: Ping I3, Titleist PT fairway, |

Sonartec SS2
I just purchased the ss2 3 wood 15* loft d-3 swingweight, with a penley r flex shaft. For the most part I am pleased with this club, very easy to hit and feels good when struck. I did not notice any distance increase over my old 3 wood (Orlimar Trimetal II). I would recommend this club to anyone in search of a solid 3 wood which is easy to hit and gives adequate distance. Nothing special about it, but also nothing bad about it. Similar Products Used: Taylor made 200 series, Orlimar Trimetal II, Ping I3. |

SS-02
I had heard lots of rave reviews of the SS-02 and SS-03 on this and other boards, so I eagerly wished to demo one. I have a Cleveland Launcher 15 degree, and am generally quite satisfied with the performance. But was Sonartec even better??!! I must say that it was adequate, competent, but in my hands completely unspectacular. I hit my Cleveland Launcher considerably better. A couple of years ago, I replaced my Ping i3's with the Launchers, and I think the i3 was also a better club in my hands than the Sonartec. I didn't find any increased distance (with relatively comparable shaft flex and identical loft), and the trajectory was also similar to the Launcher. The weight distribution scheme on the Sonartecs did not translate into straighter shots for me; the Launcher was straighter and at least as long. I didn't hate the Sonartec, I was just disappointed that after all the hype, what I have in my bag works better.
