I bought one of these in the 7 wood with a graphite (reg flex) shaft last year and absolutely loved it.
It went so straight and had a penetrating trajectory (pretty much never balooned it), and set up nice and square, but I've found myself having trouble keeping this one on-line, even though it has more loft and is shorter, so I've got one coming with the same (stock) graphite shaft that my 7 had and I'm really looking forward to it. I reckon I could get used to this one, but then I'd probably have to change the shafts on my other fairway woods to match this, which I don't want to do.
Since I bought the 7 I haven't really used a 3 or 4 iron, as these are so much easier and more fun to hit, though!
PS- I bought this club for about $22US new, on Ebay. Anything's possible!

Customer Service

Very helpful at demo-days and in my brief experience with them on the phone

Model Reviewed: Ping G2 Steel Fairway Wood

I recently picked up a Ping G2 #5 fairway wood with regular flex steel shaft after I've bought a set of Ping G2 irons. I was amazed at how straight and long the G2 wood was. I could not slice this puppy even if I wanted to. I'm getting the same distance with the Ping G2 5 wood as I was with my Callaway Hawkeye VFT #3 wood. I just came back from 3 back-to-back rounds of golf in Canada where I used my Ping G2 wood as my driver and there were times when I was outdriving my partners who were using their drivers and have been playing golf for more than 10 years. Amazing the distance that you can get when your drive is straight. I just bought a new Ping G2 fairway #3 wood with 12* loft hoping to use it as my driver. The other thing is that these woods are very reasonably priced. I haven't tried the ones with graphite shaft. Somehow the steel shaft in these woods seems very compatible with the CS lite steel shafts in my Ping G2 irons. These woods are going to be in my bag for a long time.

Haven't had to use it yet.
