I know that the orlimars have been knocked for thie low profiles and "pop up tendencies", but C'MON! If you think it's a fluffy lie and you'll get under it use a hybrid or something else. These are great clubs with a low center of gravity and are not prone to twisting! They are still longer than virtually anything new and pros still use them. I have a three wood as well. You can pick these gems up for about $40, in like new condition. |

ever since I got this wood I can absolutley crush it if I hit it just right but it has a stiff shaft on it and i use regular flex so i need to reshaft it and it came with a golf pride grip on it and i hate golf pride so im going to out a winn arrow grip on it and then i will really be able to crush it Customer Service unknown Similar Products Used: Integra Saberhawk, Wilson Prostaff (good club but way to big of a head) |

Stole the head new from Ebay. I shafted it with a UST Proforce fairway, stiff flex. Glad I did. When you put a good swing on it you are rewarded big time, put a bad swing on it & reach for another ball. This is a very nice club that I compared with Sonartec SS-03, about the same! Great Club. It took some getting used to, but I didn't give up on it and it's paying off. I am now able to reach par 5s in two shots, something I was unable to do before. My cobra ss 3 wood was giving me 200-220 yards consistently. With the trimetal plus I'm averaging 230 with an occasional monster hit. You really have to sweep the ball with this club. I've been able to hit down on the ball with some fairway woods and get away with it. But not with this club. I would recommend keeping the club for at least a few months if you pick one up, once you get the hang of it, you realize why the pros used them and still do. Big distance!! |

This is the best fairway wood I have ever hit. I picked it up off ebay for 17.50 after I sold my Adams Tight Lies 2. Today on one of the par 5's on our course I chunked my drive a bit and I was about 300 out from the hole. I pulled out my trimetal and put it right in front of the green. I just have the stock regular steel shaft in the club but I have no complaints about the distance with it. It is also very easy to hit and to hit straight. In my opinion this is the best club for the money period. Similar Products Used: Adams Tight Lies 2 (terrible, worst club I've ever hit) |

In 2001 I played in the 100's. Today (2003)I play in the 80´s. And I have to say that I did not attend a single golf lesson in the meantime. I have to thank the most of the improvement to the Orilimar Trimetal Plus (14° w/EI70 regular flex)that I bought in 2001, which was the best golf investment I ever made. The Orlimar gave confidence both from the tee and fairway. Today I hit 90% of the fairways from the tee and 95% straight 2nd shots from the fairways, with lots of greens in regulation from distances ranged 175/200. I take full advantage of the consistency and precision of this club due to the fact that I do not hit long from the tee. This is my favorite club, no doubt about it. I owe the other part of my improvement to the Cleveland TA5 irons that I also bought in 2001, but this is another story. Similar Products Used: Adams Tight Lies 2 19°, but not as good as the Orlimar. |

Orlimar Trimetal Plus Fairway Woods
I've been using the Tri-Metal PLUS ever since it was introduced a decade or so ago. Presently, I have a 12 and a 16 in my bag - both with the stock firm shaft. My driver, irons, and putters change every season or so but the "Orli's" stay put. This is not to say that I don't try other fairway metals, but "the hottest new licks" of the past decade don't even come close. As a matter of fact - now that they are such bargains used I've bought a number of them just to give away to friends (in consolation of my taking the betting $). A short-knockin' buddy of mine is all over the place with his new TaylorMade 580 driver and is rarely 200 away from the tee. But, he hits the steel-shafted 18 Orli+ I gave him clean off the deck and straight as a die 180 - 210! (Of course the once in two rounds 230 in the short stuff keeps the 580 in his hand on the tee)! CAUTION: do not confuse the PLUS with the "regular" Tri-Metals. The PLUS has a touch more face height that makes all the difference in the world; the super low profile "regulars" will pop the ball up out of minimally fluffy lies (ouch!). For combined carry and roll, accuracy, and versatility (smooth it, smoke it, make it dance) I have hit nothing like them. One of my favorite bets is after I hit a quacker with my 975J off the tee on par five. The bet is "hole high" with my second shot. When I propose it my 12+ makes this bet even money, but I have collected as much as 10-1! When I "only" want accuracy and/or shape I can never blame the club when I fail. I regret that I can't give a "value rating" of 100 stars! Customer Service None needed. Orlimar Trimetal Plus 12° EI-70 Stiff flex
Just couldn't pass up this deal! I ordered a new Taylor Made 320 TI 9.5° driver from TGW ($190 delivered)after hitting a bucket at the range with a demo (in terrible condition for $229 plus tax), and I was looking for a good 3 wood and 5 wood. The local sporting good store had just dropped the price on the Orlimar Trimetal Plus from $199 to $59 and after reading reviews on this club, I realized that this deal was too good to pass up. Unfortunately, they only had it with a 12° clubface wich is closer to a driver than I would have liked, but ....."a bargain's a bargain" I hit a small bucket at the range on my way in to work and was very pleased at how well it hit off the tee, so I can see a possible use for it on holes where the TM 320 TI might be just a little too much club. As far as hitting it from the deck, it went nice and straight most of the time, but there were a couple of times when I picked up too much of a divot which robbed some yardage from my shot. I agree with others who have reviewed this club, that it takes a little getting used to, but with even the miss-hits going so straight, it shouldn't take too long to figure out how to make every shot one to be proud of. I was a little suprised at how heavy the club head feels, it's about half the size of the TM 320 TI, but at the same time, it feels twice as heavy. I only wish that they had the same club in 15° and 20°, I probably would have bought all three. Customer Service Still waiting on a reply from Orlimar about the availability of OEM headcovers for my new club. The early reviews on this club mentioned that it came with a nice headcover from Orlimar, but the store where I bought it was clueless. |

Trimetal Plus 16*
Have been looking for a new fairway wood to replace an old, tired Warbird (15* w/RCH90 Firm-flex) and wanted to give the low-profile head designs a try. Being left-handed, demo clubs are scarce. After trying numerous clubs, narrowed my search to the Cleveland Launcher and the Orlimar Trimetal Plus. Since I wasn't sure if a low-profile FW suited my game, didn't want to spend a lot of money. As such, couldn't pass up the exceptional value of the Trimetal Plus which has been replaced by the HipSteel. Bought a new Trimetal Plus 16* with EI-70+ Stiff shaft on EBay for $60 and couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. The club feels very solid and offers excellent distance and directional control. Cannot imagine a better performing fairway wood. Highly recommended! Customer Service Very good. Similar Products Used: Callaway Warbird, Steelhead+, Quadpro, Launcher and Adams. |

This is the best 3 wood I have ever played. I hit my other 3 wood about 210 and this one 220. This is the only wood I would recommend anybody playing. It was top played on the Pga y'know. |
