I bought it on the internet, 2nd hand at 99% new. Orlimar had withdrawn from HK years ago so new clubs are not available. It came with the Fujikura stiff shaft and although I use stiff shaft for all my other clubs, I could not swing this club into action. I then too took it to the clubmaker and fitted it with an Apache shaft. Too soft. Then finally I fitted it with a Graphic Design YS-6 and WOW, it really performs. However, the sound at impact is muted, unlike the Trimetal which gives out a nice crisp "ting" sound when hit. I have no complains on this baby now. I use it to tee off for dog leg par 4 and it goes straight, far and with a high trajectory. Unfortunately, the shaft fitting had turn this into a $220 product in the end.

WHOOOOOOOAAAAA!!!! why this thing is discontinued confuses me. forget advertising dollars..... word of mouth should do it. Got this online for 40.00 with a graphite design ys 9.1 sx flex shaft, installed that alone will run 80.00 anyways this thing is the bomb and this shaft combo makes it want to be hit hard!!!! mediium high traj and shaped both ways, it's a mistake to spend 150-250 for A FWY WOOD when you can pick this up soooo cheap

I purchased a Orlimar 16 degree and 20 degree with Rifle Tour Flighted Precision shalfs. I'm a lefty and paid 89 bucks each at Leftiesonlygolf.com on a closeout of the 2002 model. These woods are highly rated and they are solid in feel, accuracy and long. I am glad to be using steel again after graphite woods were in my bag. I happen to have only one graphite club in the bag now and it is the driver a 350 Cobra 2002 model. It is a very good stick.

Model Reviewed: Orlimar HipSteel Fairway Wood

I've the like of buying the Callaway or TaylorMade fairway woods, but back off because the prices are on the high side.Secondly,I would like to have the fairway woods with low COG and shallow face which will help me hitting the ball well on the fairway and on the slight rough. After reading various reviews on this club,I decided to buy one when I know that the price had been dropped to $99.I order a 16 degrees via internet(Surprising I couldn't locate the Orlimar distributor in Singapore) The first sight of seeing Orlimar is good, although the head is not as big enough to my expectation.I guess this club are meant for the better players who can work on the ball. I managed to test it on the driving range.Surprisingly, despite its comparatively small head size,I am comfortable with the swing and I am hitting well.Consistently getting 190~210 metres of carry.I can hit direction more accurately when using a shorter than normal grip, and the distance is not sacrificed either. In the event of mis-hit,the distance will be definitely affected but the direction is not severely affected. The sound during the impact is also "Ping",although not as loud and sharp as the Callaways, but it do give me more confidence in hitting good shots. Not a bad choice considering it is only costing $99 now. Just one week after purchasing the 16 degrees,I went to order another 20 degrees. My swing speed is around 100mph,and I am getting consistently 210m carry on 16* and 180m carry on 20* on the driving range.I've still yet to try it out on green. However,I do know it will help me hitting confidently on the Par 5 courses as well as Teeing off on the narrow Par 4 courses.

Customer Service

Never try before.Since I cannot locate a distributor in Singapore.I will have to pray that this Clubs will last as long as possible.

I needed a to upgrade my fairway woods and it was between the Orlimars and the TM 200. But I could get the Orlimars for a good deal cheaper so thats what gave them the edge. I am glad I did. These are quality woods. They are long and accurate and give a medium to high trajectory which was what I was looking for. I have a feeling that these will be staying in the bag for a while.

Model Reviewed: HIPSteel 18* Stiff Fujikura shaft

Got this club based on the review here. Easy to swing club. Basically fills the gap of 190-220 yards. Have been hitting it with some hook and slice - but it is my swing. However, those hooks and slices usually goes 200 years. I recently made a GIR on a short par 4 (285 yards) with this weapon ... my drive hit the trees (as usual!) and bounced out and went about 65 yards ... I thought, let's give the Orlimar a try. A very nice ping sound and 220 yards CARRY and almost rolled off the green and dead straingt. So the verdict - GO GET IT!

I had a 16* Trimetal+ that had cracked where the faceplate attaches to the head. Sent it to Orlimar and they sent me back a brand new HipSteel 16*. Love it better looking and sweeter feeling with a great shaft (stock fuji stiff). Traded my 14* orli+ for a 12* hipsteel that I found 2nd hand. This thing has replaced my driver. Goes almost as far plus you can belt it 230m off the fairway. Its a true dual use club. Plus its straighter than the driver off the tee. These guys just don't have the money to pay the Pro's to play their stuff. If what you care about is performance give this club a try next to your TM and Cally's. You will be surprised.

Model Reviewed: 18 degree HipSteel Fairway wood

This is an update to a previous post. FINALLY got the club from Orlimar, but opted to swap w/Lumpy's Golf for an 18 degree Hipsteel Fairway Wood. Took the club to the range and hit the heck out of it as well. Lumpy's has a $50,000 simulator and it was pretty well on as to trajectory and distance. Alas thou, I hit the club so hard that the counter weight came out of the back of the club. Back to Orlimar waiting for that piece so I can repair the club. Too bad, I really want to take it to the course and play the club. Overall I am impressed w/the club. Just a lot of bad luck on the way to getting this to the course.

Customer Service

hopefully will not take them 6 weeks to ship the counter weight

I got my Hip Steel addiction when looking for a new driver. The old was was still hitting ok just time for a switch. Orlimar was running a great deal pick up their HIPTI driver and get a free fairway wood. I hit the 20 degree fairway wood and really like the feel, also the 230 yds of carry in the air did not hurt anything either. Club is very efficient and easy to hit. Off hits tend to go and go and go as well. If you are looking for a light and easy club to hip this is a good one to try!

This 3 wood is a delight to hit from fairway or tee 220/230 yds carry and is very straight and forgiving and can be worked to the right more easily than the left nice fujikura shaft keeps the club stable through impact. The ball flight is med/high but does not balloon in to the wind, all in all a very consistent & predictable club. BETTER THAN CALLAWAY STEELHEAD 111(VERY SMALL SWEETSPOT),TM2OO,WILSON DEEP RED,TITLEIST FJ.
