Golf Smith Jetstream Fairway Woods

Golf Smith Jetstream Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

The JetStream fairway woods utilize a super high-strength steel face constructed of S-290. This new material has a tensile strength two times that of 17-4 stainless steel and enables the fairway wood faces to be 1.6mm in thickness. What this means to the golfer is a coefficient of restitution that previously was unavailable in fairway woods (.830COR) for increased ball velocity at impact.

I purchased the 3 wood in the spring of 2006 to replace a beloved Olimar 2 wood. In fact I used the same Graman Ultra-Light HL-40 graphite shaft. The 3 wood comes in a 15 degree model and is more traditional looking in appearance than the pancake style Olimar. From the very first time out I was amazed how the ball came off the face with boring, mid-level trajectory. I could play this club with confidence from 225 yards to 250 yards without any excess effort. It only took a few holes before my playing partner, who is a scratch golfer, wanted to give it a go. He has searched the OEM's and after-market for years trying to find the right 3 wood to fit his game. Needless to say, he now owns one. Since then my clubmaker has made numerous sets, including the 5 & 7 woods that are equally as efficient in lowering scores.

Customer Service

I've dealt with Golfsmith for years and the folks that work there are knowledgable and easy to work with especially if you have a problem or concern. Try getting someone at an OEM to talk to you at 9:00 at night about shaft frequencies.
