I picked up the 10 deg. driver, 3 and 5 on E-Bay after purchasing a 10.5 XXL300 driver. These clubs are amazing. I have golfed for years and have never been in the fairway so much. They are CRAZY straight. To bad Goldwin are out of business because they made great clubs. Customer Service Out of luck here I guess. After years of searching for a driver that I can trust and feel it. I can finally say I found it. It is too bad that the company went out of business. This is the most forgiving club that I have ever played. Similar Products Used: Titliest 975, Callaway big bertha, Taylor made |

11 degrees XL
With this God-sent driver, I'm going to break 100 very soon. I had been using a 3 wood (Snowbee)to tee off and every time I think I'm ready for a driver, I take out my Great Big Bertha (10 degrees) and I will be humbled. I then go back to my 3 wood. When I saw this driver for sale in the papers for just the equivalent of US$65-00, I read all the reviews here and knew I could not go wrong. This driver is so forgiving, I don't carry my 3 wood anymore in my bag. I have been using it for about three rounds of golf so far and the farthest I have hit is 255 yards. Before then, I never hit anything more than 210 yards with my 3 wood (but of course). I'm glad I chose the firm shaft which has the flex of a regular shaft; Goldwin's regular shaft is way too whippy. Even with the firm flex, the trick is not to use any force when swinging which will hook the ball pretty viciously. Occasionally, I balloon my shots if I tee up a bit too high. This driver should get an award for being not only the most forgiving driver but also the most beautiful. My friend who had purchased a very expensive Ping ISI driver a short while before I bought the Goldwin, can't believe the price and the feel of my driver. He also hits this much longer than his Ping. All you high handicappers out there, go buy one before its too late. Nuff said! Customer Service Not even the web site exists. Similar Products Used: Great Big Bertha |

9 degree Xl driver and 3 wood
Driver hits high but doesn't balloon like many titanium drivers. Good feel with above average forgiveness and looks great. Distance is better than average. Unfortunately the shaft is awful. I'm no Gorilla and have good swing tempo, I carry a good drive maybe 240 yds., but even the stiff shaft is much too whippy. Control and accuracy suffers on any hard swings . This would be a five star driver with a quality, lower torque shaft. I think the AVDP weighting concept was valid and the quality of the milled aluminum head is outstanding. The three wood is fantastic; good off the fairways, great off the tee, impressive forgiveness even on thin shots and easy to get balls airborne. But again shaft is too wippy, almost every shots draws or hooks. Its too bad Goldwin went bankrupt but there are deals to be found on these clubs. I plan on reshafting this driver with a quality Innovative 2.5 shaft or maybe a UST shaft that will do justice to this otherewise fine quality driver. Similar Products Used: Practically everything. |

Goldwin ADVP XL 11* Driver
I got this club as a gift, and it already had a True Temper Regular Steel Shaft on it. I was too lazy to take off the head, and change the shaft for my swing speed, so I shortened the shaft while I changed the grip. I hit this about 280 on average, but very inconsistent (wonder why), have hit it 290/295, so it will go long, even with the 11* loft, nice trajectory, a little high, but it's 11*, doesn't balloon, they're right. I'm quite pleased with this driver, looking for a new one lately though, just might change the shaft first and see if I get a better result, I can't deal with being this inaccurate. I was hitting my 3-iron 255 off the tee today, so I have found a backup plan, but I want to kill it with the big dawg. I'm about 6'1" and lean, so if you're pretty strong, this might be the club for you. Similar Products Used: Callway Steelhead, Titleist 975D, Callway VFT |

THIS CLUB IS HOT!!! I was shopping at Ross last year and they had a bag full of these things. I picked up an 11 degree driver for $20.00 and shortly there after I retired my Big Bertha. Unfortunatly I caved in the club face a few months ago, however, I found another one on ebay and it is on the way. I have no idea why this great company went under. Get these rocket launchers while you still can! AVDP was mentioned by a good friend of mine from the Philippines. I tried the XLS when i went to visit my sister in N.J., I loved the feel and the sound of it, (had a loud "TING" sound). My drives are longer and straighter than my older, and more expensive drivers. I can even use it off the fairway. I have Jim Furyk swing and I've had drives to 250 yrds. I'm only 5'5" so 250 yrds is huge for me.The shaft i find to be a little too whippy though, but still compensates with my swing. I loved it so much I bought the irons too, and in addition, bought my wife her own set of AVDP irons. She borrows my XLS now as she prefers it to her Callaway which is now gathering dust in storage. Take it from me, this thing works, and works very well...off the tee or off the fairway. Customer Service Never knew they had one. Too bad. Similar Products Used: Killer Whale, Warbird, G.B. Goldwin AVDP 5 WOOD
What a fairway wood. Matched a Fujikura 70 shaft with this head and what a combo. Played with it for the first time and it saved me on the long par 5s when I hooked my drive. Produces high or low shots depending on your set up and it jumps off the face. Good bye Adams Tight Lie and hello Goldwin. Similar Products Used: Adams original Tight Lies |

It's a shame Goldwin's Golf division shut down. All of their clubs were manufacturing marvels in my opinion. The CNC-machined woods were milled to perfection. Each club had a soft feel coming off their face. The swing weight and design really helped to get the distance and forgiveness I needed in the past. Goldwin’s woods and irons had a real quality to them: in looks and performance. Customer Service Before they went under, the service was quite sluggish. You could tell something was wrong with the company. They were always more than willing to help but were really slow. I happened to break the inside of my driver twice from normal high school tournament play before my current and second driver. The process was much slower than the first fix. I do not know if it was because they gave me a new one eventually, or if they were just that slow. I believe the repairs were minor on this excellent club but it took more than a month to get the new one back during the off-season. It’s a shame they went out of business. They really knew what they were doing from an engineering standpoint. Similar Products Used: None |
