Cobra SS 3 Wood
I have been struggling with fairway woods for sometime, until this club. I have not gotten home in 2 in a long time. I have had 3 legitimate eagle chances in the last 4 rounds (missed all of them). Club is very solid with a nice tight dispersion, unlike most others I have tried. Great off the tee. Most of all, I am impressed with the length. Cobra is definitely back. Very legitimate 5 star rating. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Cleveland Launcher, Titleist 975F, Quadpro, Steelhead Plus, Cobra GB, Adams |

This club is great and is an excellent buy. The best thing about it is if you have a hook or slice this club really staightens it out and it is also great off the tee. The one negative is the paint job on the club I only got it 2 weeks ago and a lot of the paint is chipping off. But it is still a great buy and I highly reccomend it. Customer Service Fair. I have nothing to say but positive things about these clubs. I really had to put a bad swing on them to get a slice or a hook. Excellent feel to them, you know exactly where the ball will go, and most of the time what you did wrong. And for $150 each, they are a lot cheaper than the competition, while the build quality remains excellent, and the performance is just as good, if not better. |

3+ (13 deg), stiff shaft
All I have ever really played was the original King Cobra fairway woods. I had been hitting my 3 and 5 about the same distance, so I wanted a 3 that I could go deep with, since I now use a driver that's too big to get the sweet spot of the deck. Another important thing is that I wanted to be sure that I was getting a club that set up sqare instead of a little closed. I tried the Ping I3, Cleveland Launcher, and the Cobra SS. I hit all 3 into the net. I bought the Ping I3 even though I felt that I hit the Cobra more solidly into the net. I played the I3 for a weekend, and I took it back and picked up the Cobra SS. On the upside, the SS is pretty light and it's easy generate club head speed. It's pretty forgiving on both distance and direction. If you happen to nail it, man will it get deep. The ball velocity off a sweet hit is just incredible. It is a very good looking club as well. The Aldila custom shaft is perfect for this club head, and makes it a heavy hitter when combined with the maraging steel face. Nice head cover too, stripped like a snake! The only downside to this club for me is the head is slightly smaller than I'm accustomed to. It may not be a good club for slicer's either, but my errors are the other way. In summary, I think it's as good or better than many of it's more expensive cousins. It's at least worth a couple of swings into the net at your local golf shop if your on the market. For me it is what I was looking for. It's a club that will nock the snot out of the ball if I pure it and leave me reasonably well off if I don't Similar Products Used: Ping I3, Cleveland Launcher, King Cobra original, Callaway Warbird. |

I was looking for a 3 wood with a deeper face that would be better off the tee and from the rough than typical 'fairway woods'. I had tried and loved the original King Cobra woods so I gave the SS a try and got just what I was looking for. It is very forgiving and the stock shaft feels great. Has a great mid-tradjectory ball flight that seems to carry forever without ballooning. From the fairway the tradjectory is lower for me but I get the same distance with the roll. Another bonus with this club is that it is selling for just $149US (may 2002) which is much less than other high-end brands.
