Model Reviewed: Steelhead III 10* Reg.

Nice solid club, quite easy to hit. i like the size a lot, just the right size. and the shaft length is good too, not too long as some of the big titanium drivers now. The only thing that i don't like is there is not too much feedback from the shaft, quite dull.

Model Reviewed: Strong 3 Strong Flex

My faithful TM Burner Tour Spoon 13 degree finally died when the shaft broke. It had a Honma M40 shaft that can not be replaced. My friend offered me the Strong 3 with the Strong Flex for $160 during my time of grief. At the time, the club retailed for $269 and it was in pretty damn good condition. Anyways, I'd like to complain about the shaft first. It's too stiff, but the firm is too whippy. It's also too light. There is no feedback. It's the only club in the bag with no feel. When struck correctly, the ball flight is quite nice. It's seems to get up easily and has a desired draw bias. Unfortunately, I barely strike this club correctly. I don't think I'm quite over the death of my beloved Tour Spoon. The one thing I love about this club is the headcover. It's the best Callaway headcover ever made.

My sister says that people at Callaway are pretty nice.

Model Reviewed: Callaway Steelhead III - 3W & 4W

I purchase the Steelhead 4W ($179) from Golfsmith with a steel staff. I had the Steadhead II and loved the club but you know us golfers always want to newest equipment. The head looks biggger than the Steelhead II and when you hit the ball it feels more solid than before. I purchased the 3W ($209) with a firm graphite shaft from Callaway Pre Owned website and got a great deal. You will pay up to 40% less depending on what condition you choose. I have not had a chance to hit it yet but again I had the Steelhead II version and loved it as well. All in all, the profile of the Steelhead III is taller which give you more room to miss it. Per Callaway, the volume of the head has increased 20% so you have even more clubhead to use than with the Steelhead II. The loft progession it 2 degrees and the 3W is 15 degrees and the 4W is 17 degrees. With the long shaft in the 3W it should equal to around 10 to 12 yards of difference. They also have a Strong 3W at 13 degrees but I did not give it a try and off the deck I think you woul dneed to be a pro to hit that. I have not used any other brands much with respect to a fairway wood but from using the Callaway products they really do put fun into your game. I just cannot seem to miss it that much and the confidence just builds over time. When you nail one you know it and the has a loud, joyful, metal click to it. You will not be disappointed in this club.

Customer Service

Callaway Pre Owned customer service is excellant. Ordered online and got it the next day. Golfsmith is good too. You walk in and they usually have every club in stock.
