Great looking club. Managed to more draws than fades which for me is a good thing. As with all Callaway stuff, well overpriced but what you gonna do.

Wow. This has been my best purchase to date. I had played a Titleist 975 fairway wood but with limited success. I either hit it great or lousy. No forgiveness from my experience. However, I have only had this VFT 3 wood for a few months and what a difference. The ball absolutely explodes off the face. It is very forgiving and I haven't run into any problem with the draw bias they have built in. I was concerned at first about the Callaway shaft as I'd heard that they were not reliable. Again, my experience has been nothing but positive. I had the firm shaft put in and the ball flight is excellent. The ball really climbs nicely without ballooning. Very penetrating. I played by first game yesterday(May 9) and hit it both off the tee and off the fairway. On one tee shot, I actually out drove my playing partners(one playing a Callaway GBB and the other the PING monster). On our 10th hole, a 531 yard par 5, I hit driver and this VFT which FLEW the green from 230. I've very impressed. If you're looking for a new wood to put in the bag, give htis one a shot.

As a side, I tried the VFT driver out and had a horrible time. Ball flight was inconsistent and distance was nothing to write home about. Instead, I landed on the Taylor Made 320 which HAS NOT let me down. Curious that the driver didn't impress me but the 3 wood did........

This 3 wood is awesome! I hit farther than my Hawkeye driver (which will be replaced with a VFT driver ASAP). Just to make sure my eyes weren''t playing tricks on me, I asked a guy who was hitting next to me at the range to give it a try. He hit it further than the driver he was using (which shall remain nameless-Taylor Made)! I hit this club on the average of 250 yards (carry). It''s really easy to hit and pretty forgiving. The better swing you have, the better results you will get!!!

Customer Service

Excellent service!! The best customer I''ve ever had to deal with.

The Callaway Hawkeye VFT may be the finest fairway wood ever produced by Callaway, or any company for that matter. I am a ten handicap and alternate my play between a long, linksy course (7000 yds.) and a shorter, extremely hilly course where I can never find a level lie. The three wood is nothing but incredible out of the fairway...I am able to hit it around 275 on center hits. Although off center hits may lose distance, they still go relatively straight. With the five wood, I can hit 240 out of the fairway and stop the ball in ten yards of green. The five wood is also excellent when playing out of any decent lie in the rough. For those who believe that Callaway's shouldn't be played by the better player because they aren't workable enough....I tempt you to actually play a Callaway before you decide on your fairway wood. I play a 975j driver and can work the ball fairly well, and I see the same workability in the fairway woods as I do in the driver. Before writing off these woods, be sure to try different shafts. I still have the original System 60 shafts in the woods because I hit the ball in the center almost all the time. However, on off center hits, the shaft twists/torques a good deal, which exaggerates your mishits. Also, if you are having trouble getting the ball in the air, consider a different shaft before writing off the club. Anybody from a scratch golfer to a 30 handicap can enjoy the benefits of the Callaway VFT fairway woods.

Also, the Callaway VFT driver is nothing like the fairway woods. I played the driver for a few weeks before I sold it...However, I have heard the driver is quite good with low torque replacement shaft(anything but the System 60). If you can't hit a driver consistently, tee up the three wood and be amazed when you hit it 280 in the middle of the fairway.
