this little baby is the bomb, being 19* it plays like a 5 wood. I hit this thing 220-235 depending on lie and conditions. I use it a lot on short narrow par 4's and long par 3's. It is an excellent club to use green side, running the ball up to the hole. It is dead straight and will keep you in the middle of the fairway. For the money you can't beat it. try it you might like it......... |

Ben Hogan Edge Hybrid #2 & #4 - Graphite Shaft
I was lucky and able to take these 2 out on an extended demo. I really only wanted to purchase one, for long par 3's or shots from fairway where you need distance but dont always feel comfortable with a wood. I could hit my woods ok, but not always, plus my 3 and 4 iron were not consistent which lead to lack of confidence. The hogans turned out to be confidence inspiring. They have a beautiful dark navy metallic finish, and good grips. They make the game more fun. I know use the #2-19 degree for long par 3's, for par 4 drives where you definitely need to hit the centre of the fairway (it does 210 for me). The #4-24 degree is higher trajectory to stop on greens, or for out of bunkers, short to med rough. I ended up buying both. They require that you hit down on them slightly, dont try to sweep them, but are very corrective, any decent swing will go dead straight, or close to it. I have finally given in and dropped my 3&4 irons, as well as my 5 wood. I did try the taylormade rescue line, and admit they were similar in results but not as satisfyingly soft feeling, a little more abrubt vibration, plus they retail for at least 50%-100% more in price than hogans (almost 2-4-1 deal vs Tm). much more fun now, great product. p.s. the #'s dont necessarily match the irons you are replacing i.e. the #2 is more like a 1 iron, the #4 between a 4-5. Customer Service Never used, but quality over 10 rounds is holding up nicely. Similar Products Used: taylormade rescue line, bazooka hybrids. |

Purchased the 21* 3h in graphite (stock)and 24* 4h in steel after being somewhat disappointed with comparable Bazooka JMax Ironwoods (both in steel). For some reason, it has taken me awhile to get the feel of these clubs, but it's at the point right now where they will be in the bag for a long time. The 3h replaced a 7-wood and the 4h a 4 iron. I have achieved a level of comfort with these clubs that I never had before at that end of the bag. With the 7-wood, I had a 20 yard gap between it and the 4 iron, but the 3h eliminated that. Ball flight and accuracy are very good. I don't think it's a reach that I have lowered my scores by one or two strokes since putting these clubs in my bag as the handicap has dropped a stroke and is hovering close to another drop. All in all, I am very satisfied with these clubs and would recommend at the very least a serious demo if you are having trouble with your long irons and fairway woods. Customer Service Have not had to use yet. Similar Products Used: Bazooka JMax Ironwoods 3 & 4. |

First I want to have a TM mid-rescue. I read one comment from EBAY-Ben Hogan Hybrid is better. Then I read all the BH hybrid reviews and try this club in a local golf shop. I bought one on EBAY 2 months ago. I love it, I use it on fairway bunker, bad lie and tee off. The ball goes far and straight. This club looks nice too. It is my secret weapon for now. First bought the hybrid 1 because I couldn't hit a fairway wood to save my life. I love it, most of the time I can hit it straight 200 yards+. Use it off the tee as well as a second shot on a long par 5. Liked it so much I bought the 3. I have already recommended that people look at this before Taylor Made. It cheaper than the TM by $50-75. The only real reason I bought this club was because I had a 20% off coupon to a local store. I had never hit the club, but I had heard good reviews of it. I already had a Golden Bear 3h in my bag but I decided to check out this offering from Hogan. This club just does not work for me. I have hit it from all kinds of lies and I am never satisfied. This club just produces massive slices for me. I don't even slice any of the other woods, including my driver any more. My other hybrid goes just as far and has a higher trajectory. I ended up giving this club to a friend because it was hurting my game too much. He hits it perfect and it has become his favorite club. His swing has hook/draw tedencies to it though. Overall this is probably a pretty good club, but it really did not work out for me. I would suggest hitting it before you buy it to see if it fits your game. A very useful piece of equipment that is super easy to hit and serves a number of purposes very nicely. I have the 21* #3 and find myself using it several times each round. It is useful on long par threes, tight fairways, under tree limbs, from the rough, and for rolling the ball up from the fringe. Price isn't too bad either. Give one a try if you get the chance. Customer Service I ordered mine and it took a while to show. Aparently they are being underproduced at the moment. Similar Products Used: None. My first hybrid/utility experience. |
