Wilson Dd5 driver
In my breif experience with this driver I think it's safe to say that golfers who play it will like it if they get the shaft and loft that suits their game.

Wilson DD5
The Wilson DD5 driver is a very, very nice looking driver. The overall size of the club head is fairly large as you come to expect from Drivers these days. I have now played five rounds with my new Wilson Staff clubs including my DD5. As i used to have Tommy Armour Silverscott clubs. The DD5 is an exceptionally forgiving club, the feel of the club is superb even on miss hits in my opinion. I used to hit the ball around about 230 - 235 metres(255 Yards) now i hit around 250 metres(273 yards). So there wasn't a massive improvement in distance, but it is enough to make those long Par 5's that bit much shorter. The accuracy of this club is where it comes into its own. Even though it still won't make a very poor golfer great if you are not hitting this club well you have a fair indication that your technique is wrong. I would reccommend this driver to a golfer with a handicap of between 5 to 20. Overall I believe this is a fine driver not the longest ever but by heck certainly one of the most accurate. Customer Service I bought this club at Kerris Ellis in South Australia and the customer service was great. Similar Products Used: Tommy Armour Silverscott Driver(1998) |

Staff Dd5
Ok, I love trying clubs and this is one of the winners. From the drivers I have tried lately the Dd5 is now my primary driver. My Dad is "Mr. Staff". He has his fluid feel irons that you couldn't pull from his hands if he was dead. So of course as his son I'm looking for a brand to call my own. So far it's a losing battle. I went out for 18 with him last week with my new Dd5 Nano Tech Stiff flex shaft. I startded out with an easy 75% swing for the first few holes and it went nicely where I was aiming, "Straight". Now normally and consistently I have a fade (Right handed) with a few staright ones here and there. I'm sure swing mechanics have something to do with that. Anyway, So the BIG test after a few holes was to let it all out. Now I'm certainly not a long drive champion and that's not my point but as we all know when we start rareing back and letting them fly that's when the spraying begins. All I can say is for ME a consistant fader my 100% swing speed drives stayed consistantly straight to a slight draw. Quite frankly I didn't think I could draw a drive before this. My score for that day was "83". As you can see my normal scoring is in the 90's. Now, that does not account for the Irons and putter I was trying out as well as the "good day bad day" thing. Check the Wilson Staff section for the irons I was using. DOH! Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Wilson Deep Red 425cc Integra Sooo Long 450r Callaway GBBII MacGregor V Foil Eyeomatic m42 |

Got a good deal on the club and was able to order it 1" short. Hit about 20 balls on the range today. 16 were in the fairway, 4 mis-hits were still very playable. Usaually would have had 4-5 push/slices, but none with the Dd5. This club is very straight and forgiving. 10 degree loft is plenty high. Club sets up very nice at address. I've demo'd some clubs that are longer, but none this consistently straight. Customer Service Not used. Similar Products Used: Wilson Deep Red. Taylormade 420. |

Wow!!! Although I'm not normally the straightest shooter this club has definitely helped me. I get major distance with my fade (when it fades) and mis hits still go way long. I'm loving this club and it was a bargain--if you can snatch this up I highly recommend it! Customer Service Haven't used it Similar Products Used: TaylorMade R540XD, Adams Tight Lies GT 363 |

OK - have now played 5 rounds with this club and it is very impressive. I am not sure if it as long as my old Powersphere or Snake Eye 600tj, but it is without doubt the most consistent. Off centre hits hardly deviate from a 'good hit'. The dispertion is a very tight area, far beter than any other club. For a Big Headed Club, you can tee the ball very low without any problems - great for sqeezing out a long fade (if required). The shaft, a Graffaloy Prolite, is very different to other Prolites I have tried (it must be the Nano Tech built in to the weave) ; it feels a little firmer than other Reg Shafts. At least 3 other golfers I have played with have all hit my Wilson and everyone to a man has nailed it long (all better than me) - and strangely they each take different flex shafts normally, but they all hit this club without problem ! Overall, an easy club to hit that is longish but very very consistent. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: too many to mention |
